MK Firework Dessert Party

We just got back from our 6 day stay. We did the dessert party last Sunday and we thought it was WELL worth the cost. When I had made the reservation, I was told our party of 6 might have to be split up-- which was okay with us. But when we arrived, they had us all together. The tables had a name card welcoming the the Long Family, with castle confetti sprinkled about. I really thought that was a nice touch. There was plenty of room at the railing for all to have a good view of the fireworks. Spectro was in the distance, but if you've already seen it up close, that probably wouldn't be a problem. There was a lot of variety of desserts and they were plentiful, and they didn't seem to suffer too much from the heat. The CM's were very friendly and attentive-- you could tell they took pride in what they were providing. But to me, what clinched the experience was being so close to Tink as she flew by! All in all, we were really glad we did this and wouldn't hesitate to do it again. Even my penny-pinching DH said so!

Good luck to all those trying to get in!

I agree about Tink! Our table was the last table on the tomorrowland side of the seating area in front of the railing. we stood directly in front of our table area by the railing and Tink was just directly overhead! I yelled out hi Tink! as she passed by and she looked right down at us and smiled and waved. so cool! :goodvibes

I tried this morning (Monday at 6am PST) I realize they had already had the phones open for 2 hrs, I asked the cm for november 6th and he said it was already booked so I mentioned if he could tell if it was booked or the dates just not extended yet and he said no that it was booked and that there normally isn't cancelations for that one. I am watching this board like a hawk now waiting to see if anyone was able to book this on the extended dates yet. Really wanted my 2 1/2 yr granddaughter to have a comfortable view of wishes.

This seems strange as other have mentioned finding out today that it hasn't yet been extended :scared: Why can't Disney all 'read from the same page'? It does bug me sometimes as it's almost a lottery as to who answers your call and what they tell you!

I don't buy what that CM said for a second. There is NO WAY that booked in less than two hours time... basing that on other people who called and were told it wasn't opened.

My guess is its in the system now but no open slots... Same thing was happening with the Fantasmic Dinner Packages... They were all booked and then MIRACULOUSLY they were available. FEH I say FEH...

ALl this proves is Disney can't create a computer system to save their lives...

I'll bet money the CM was dead wrong. No way that filled that fast... not in an hours time.

Update: I just called again spoke to someone named Peggy ( earlier this morning it was Marvin) she told me the dates have not been extended yet and they had no information as to when they would be. This is frustrating since I specificly asked Marvin that question and he told me they were already booked for Nov. 6 and not that it had not been extended. Glad I havent given up yet!

And with all the other amazing things they are able to do, you think they'd be ablet to. Maybe they need to get a team of Imagineers working on their computer systems.

As I said earlier, I and MANY others had the same experience with Fantasmic Dinners for beginning of October.

Keep checking the boards, but trust me... when it opens you'll see a FLOOD of posts... That's how I was able to get Fantasmic and I even called the next evening and STILL got a Brown Derby package (and H and V was available as well) which is what I wanted... MMM... Cobb Salad drool. And if you book, please let us know! I'm hoping for either 10-2 if they will lets us book during a MNSSHP (we have tickets for that night) or 10-3. Even 10-5 would be fine, although inconvenient as I am planning on being at Epcot.

Just had my most annoying call with a CM yet...

I inquired about the Wishes dessert party and if it had been extended. She said she checked her updates and confirmed that yes - it had been extended. I jumped for joy!! Of course, it was too good to be true. Because her very next question was "Which showing do you want to book, 9pm or 10pm"???? This completely confused me and i thought "Crap! How did I miss this one on the Dis boards. :confused3"
So i clarified that I was talking about the Wishes Fireworks dessert and that I was only aware of one fireworks show at MK a day. She said no that they have the fireworks twice a day and that she would check her update again. She returned saying "I have just confirmed that we have not extended the Wishes party"...

So what did I learn...nothing

This waiting is killing me!

I HAVE to think they outsource cheaply... its the only explanation for systems this bad... Believe me, I would LOVE to be CIO or CTO for Disney... at least run the Computer Operations for WDW...

The new online reservations system is a great example... its garbage. Slow, bad functionality and lacks some basic reservation principles such as showing multiple times at multiple restaurants when one is booked. Honestly they should have either bought Opentable's software and modified it, outsourced TO Opentable, which I think would have been the best idea, or just ripped them off. Either way, that system runs circles around Disney's terrible system.

I'm on the phone with Dining right now and he says they've got dates available to the end of September. :thumbsup2

I am looking for November, but he said to just keep calling and see if it gets released for October and November soon. Good luck everyone!

Urgh...just called again and now I'm told that it is extend but that its sold out the entire week I'm there, Sept 16-23. This is very frustrating!

i've just been told no its not been extended again!! argghhhhhhhhh...............
