Does anyone know if this is going to be extended?

I have called many times and inquired about it being extended. The CM's keep saying that at this point it hasn't been extended. For as popular as it seems to be, I don't know why they wouldn't extended it. :confused3 If they are going to extended it, I'd have to believe that they would announce it soon because the current ending date is August 29th. My fear is that the closer to August 29th we get and they don't announce an extension... they probably never will. :sad2:

We just talked to a CM at the Wishes Dessert party and she said that they are planning on extending the party through January! Tonight, they had a few tables for walk-ins! We went last Sunday and it was sold out. Very excited to hear that they are extending the party. The only reason they are stopping it in January is that they are going to be refurbishing the bottom part of the noodle station at that time.

Has anyone had or know what non-dairy items are available for guests?

If it's just fruit and non-dairy ice cream then I would probably skip the party as my niece gets the non-dairy ice cream at the TS and wouldn't be very impressed with it again.

If they have some cake or other interesting dessert then I definately want to book, if it is extended.

Okay, NOW you have my attention!!:banana:

How far in advance can I book this? We'll be there Dec. 24 to Jan. 8. I can't find any info for this on Disney's website or even Allears...as usual, Dis is the best. ;)

Question, sorry if this has already been asked, but I haven't seen it:

Do they have handicapped accessible viewing? My MIL is in a wheelchair and I'd hate to have to struggle with crowds on our way over to the railing to view the fireworks.

Exciting to hear that it's been or will be extended! :yay: Anyone been able to book for October yet?

I don't know that they have an specific area, but my Dd was in a wheelchair when we attended, due to a leg injury. We went right up to the rail with no problem. Most people watched from their seats.

I just called this morning and they haven't got the info loaded into their system yet for the extended dates :confused3

I was hoping to book for late September

The beauty of the area is the crowd is very limited. I believe they cap off at 160 people max? We stood at the rail but it was side by side, very comfortable. There was no area where people were even 4 deep. You will be fine and I'm sure even if it was a bit crowded people will make room for her. No worries. :goodvibes

i've just called to ask i if its been extended, and i was told no. will keep trying though :)

I totally agree. I am sure that people at the railing will make way for someone in a wheelchair. We attended the buffet on August 8 and it was great--not too crowded, all the kids (and parents) enjoyed the desserts. We loved the chocolate covered strawberries--one way I ensured my kids got their servings of fruit that day! LOL

Would I do it again? Probably, if I have the money to do so. Made for a great, uncrowded way to watch the fireworks without having to stake out territory on a curb an hour or more in advance!

I called this morning to try to book it for the end of September. After talking to a CM, he put his supervisor on since he couldn't find anything about it being extended.

As per the supervisor, it has been extended BUT it isn't loaded into their program. They upgrade the systems on Sunday, so when it is done tonight it will be available for booking tomorrow.

But remember, this is only one CM supervisor. Let's keep our fingers crossed that her information was correct.

You can see it from your seats?? I just can't picture how that's possible!!

Some tables it's possible, others I agree with you--would be difficult to see. For us, it was a moot point. So many people stood at the railing (in fact, started to do so half an hour before the fireworks even began) that we had to stand up, too, in order to see.

some of our family went to the rail becasue we wanted to take pictures. Others stayed at the table. They had no problem seeing.

I am booked for this in less than 1 week and am still contimplating canceling. This is our first time to disney and our first day--we will have gotten up early (4:30 to get on the plane) and I don't know if I want to be scheduled in to doing this if my girls are too tired. I also want them to see spectro and I understand there is not a good view here for that.

Was thinking of maybe going to DTD and then MK that day. But if girls are tired we could skip DTD or MK.

Also there have been conflicting reports about the buffet--people standing at the rail making it hard to see, deserts not the best, waiting to get in for a long time. But then others have really liked it.

Just don't know if it is worth it and I need to cancel in the next couple of days. Any thoughts.

IMHO, I'd cancel unless you plan on taking a long nap in the afternoon. That's just too long of a day for all of you, and you don't want to start off being exhausted. The key is to HAVE FUN. Just this past week, I ended up skipping Illuminations because we were all getting tired and it was only 8:00. I knew that it would be a very lengthy process getting back to the resort afterwards, and decided to throw in the towel. We went back to the hotel, played cards, and had a great time. Personally, we had a great time at the buffet, but it's not the only "game in town."

Definately worth going, but this brings up a good point... go take a nap before going. THat is a long day.

oh you have all got me very excited about a possible extension :D
