My daughter and I are sneaking away to the World to celebrate her high school graduation. It is a quick getaway - 4 nights, 7/3 - 7/7 - so we’ll be packing a lot in! We arrive very late Wednesday night - landing at 10:45 pm. MK is open until 2 am that night (with EMH). Is it nuts to drop our bags at POP and head over to MK? We have annual passes, so tickets not an issue. We’d only have an hour or so, but we’d get to see the castle and do an attraction or two. Crazy or crazy fun???

Crazy fun if the lack of sleep won't affect you.

Otherwise I would skip it.

You could get several attractions in,get in line for SDMT at 1:59:59 and then enjoy looking at the Castle after that, catch a Kiss Goodnight and exit MK around 3:00 AM if you want to get the most bang for your buck!

Crazy fun.... seems like something my daughter and I would do. We have been doing fun mother daughter celebrations like this for years. SOOOOOO fun. Enjoy. Sleep on the plane.

Vote crazy fun! Hanging out in MK midnight and later is one of our favorite things. Even if MK was not our park that day, we will close down that park, and then head over there. I have so many pictures of the kids sitting in front of the castle eating ice cream while watching the cool little projection shows they put up on the castle that late.

It would be fun, but I would be regretting it the next morning. Personally, I would head straight to POP and go to bed, so I could be ready to hit the parks first thing the next morning. I never like to start my trips off exhausted.

I agree with this. I have the best memories of hanging out with my kids after midnight in a very quiet MK. Eating treats that late at night seemed so naughty to both of them, made it so special. Skipping holding hands down Main Street is incredible. No one in your way and not a care in the world.

Thanks for your thoughts! We will try to sleep on the plane and would adjust the next morning’s schedule for a later start. I guess we’ll see how we feel upon arrival... whether we’re too tired or energized!

Yes... I completely understand that point of view. Honestly, I think I’m fantasizing about the adventure and my practical side will kick in!

We are heading down for the sames dates and we are going to MK and staying until close. We have decided to sleep in the next day, staying at the YC and doing the Bon Voyage breakfast at 11:40 on the 4th at the Boardwalk, then spending some time at the pool relaxing and before heading to Epcot for dinner and fireworks. I think it is going to be crazy fun!

I personally prefer late nights over mornings, so long as you don’t have to wake up for RD and will let yourself get sleep I’d say go for it! That could be an awesome mother / daughter memory :)

Appears the overall consensus is crazy fun! (Now to be sure we nap on the plane!) Do you think it is safe to assume that the crowds will have dwindled significantly by midnight? It is July 3 and the park will packed during the day. Hoping most people will clear out by then.

The park will still be somewhat busy if the park is open til 2am, especially since it’s the holiday. But it won’t matter. There’s something magical about the MK after midnight. :)

It could be fun.
Since you have APs, the ticket doesn't matter.
Really depends how tired you are after the flight.
I would expect the park to not be super busy that late, so you might get a lot done in 60-90 minutes.

Spending any time in MK at night is crazy fun!! BTRR, Splash and AO are a blast to ride at night.

I did July 3rd at MK a couple of years ago when they were open till 2 am and that has been one of my favorite times to be there. It was eerily quiet and empty and amazing.
