Mixer ornament and new toiletries!

Either hit the jackpot, or housekeeping has the room number mixed up with someone that is paying cash. That happened once to us.

That makes sense except that this is a BW view room and it used to be that you couldn't book a BW view room on cash. Maybe that has changed. Or maybe we had a mousekeeper who is used to working on the Inn side. Or maybe Tink is giving us an early Christmas present. Or maybe we are being made to feel guilty because we are NOT staying at BWV next time!

Our was a case of wrong room numbers, such as it was suppose to be 5521, instead 5251,

Just enjoy and have a great time. I was hoping this was going to be a new change for all the DVC rooms, I like having lotion. I can get by without the toothbrush, as I always have my own, or the shower cap.
 

I stayed at BWV over Thanksgiving (checked out Sunday) and I did not have any of that stuff. One shampoo, one shower gel, one lotion and one bar soap.

The fact that we have to pay for clean towels really irritates me!:confused3
 
I'll bet Sammie is right. We are just going to bed and I noticed that the blankets on the king and the pullout are double sheeted. I hope that some poor cash customer isn't being short changed. And here I was thinking that Claire was really shaking and shaping things up in our DVC world! And another thought occurred to me. I had better check my account to see if I am being charged for all of these little goodies! :scared:
 
Sometimes you do get lucky! I was in a VALUE studio this past January, and so were my friends, in a different one, and we both had robes to use!:thumbsup2
 
This morning I called Mousekeeping to find out which mousekeeper did all the extra work in this room so I can thank her. I was told that sometimes extras are given DVC members as a thank you gift for staying, as a special surprise. So I guess we were just plain lucky. Now I don't have to worry that someone who paid for extra service is not getting it!
 
We are here now too-Boardwalk view 2nd floor. No extras for us
this time. Enjoy!!:yay:
 
Mystery solved. Our mousekeeper is the same one we had a year ago for our big family trip. She was wonderful, doing extra stuff every day in the GV where the babies were crawling around. I contacted the manager then to offer my appreciation for all the mousekeeper's extra efforts. Apparently the manager remembered us and asked that mousekeeper to do our room! Shocking! So she went over and above again. Wow. I never knew about this kind of attention to individuals!
 
When people ask why we keep going back to Disney, what we could possibly love about it, etc, these are the kinds of things that come to mind. In all the guests Disney serves they took the time to get to know and remember you. Amazing!!! Love it. :)
 
W. Also surprised to find lotion, toothbrushes and shower caps in the bathrooms! !

That's because BWV is paired with the Inn, at OKW (Thanksgiving week) no shower cap, no lotion! At Kidani in Aug, there was lotion but no shower cap! (Also the bottle were dark and the new sent wasn't grapefruit/bergamot)

Personally, not a big fan of Grapefruit/Bergamot new toiletry sent! I bring my own shampoo etc. anyway, the kids like the samples!

Oh, well-no one ever thanks us for staying. You are so lucky! And Bobbiwoz-robes in a value studio. And here I was thinking how lucky I was to get a savannah view from a value studio. Now I'm upset-no robe!
Seriously, though-does anyone know if there's any way that those of us who can't schedule a trip to DVC during the holidays can purchase that DVC ornament? I love that!

We'd pay for it one way or another. If they swapped out towels on a greater frequency or allowed complementary replacement on demand, housekeeping costs would increase.

I know that sounds trite and may seem like a convenient excuse for not providing any service improvement. But every product/service has a cost associated with it and owners pay those bills. The resorts wouldn't launder and replace thousands of additional costs per day without incurring additional fees.

Nice! We had a housekeeper at BWV remember us from a stay a year earlier. I was slightly shocked although I think it had to do with the fact we were traveling with my mother and had a lift chair delivered for her both times so I assumed that made us stand out a bit. At least I didn't think our tip had been that extraordinary. :) We've always had good interactions with both housekeeping and maintenance at BWV.
