:scared1: I'm hoping this is a regional thing and you just don't have them near you instead of you being deprived your whole life.

Here's a pic of them:

Good morning! :dance3: It's Friday, and that means I have a new drink recipe for you! :goodvibes Actually, I have two today!
Since it's starting to get cold out there, I thought I should post a couple hot drinks to warm you up... :surfweb:

Amaretto Tea (for Blue!)

6 oz hot tea
2 oz amaretto almond liqueur
1 1/2 oz chilled whipped cream

Pour hot tea into a mug. Add amaretto, but do not stir. Top with chilled whipped cream and serve.

Pretty easy, but very good! :goodvibes

Calypso Coffee

1/2 oz white rum
1/2 oz dark creme de cacao
5 oz coffee
1 1/2 oz whipped cream
1 tsp amaretto almond liqueur
1 tsp sugar

Pour coffee, rum and cacao into an irish coffee cup and sweeten to taste. Float the cream on top, add amaretto, and serve.

Hope you enjoy them! Have a great weekend everyone!!! :cool2:
Cheers!

PAIGE...first of all I'm not a man and second of all I don't have a fiancee, but other than that, sure, coulda been me! :rotfl:

PrincessJasmine is a man? Figured it was a woman with a female fiancee-- a Massachusettsian or somethin' :confused3

I love ding dongs......the chocolate ones. Okay, there is no good way to phrase that. I love the chocolate pastry cake called ding dongs.......there.

Have a good day Nutjobs!!!

Michelle, that sounds GREAT! I usually just drink my coffee black while occasionally dipping my morning steak.

LtP likes sweet coffee. I think she'd really enjoy your recipe.

Wonder if anyone would notice if I brought these to work...

Not if you drank them out of a Disney mug - nobody suspects Mickey of hiding the booze, trust me. Whenever I go to a soccer tournament I sneak all of my bottles into the hotel in my Mickey tote, it is quite the team joke!

Okay, kids, we're slacking, so I'll start...

Went to my friends' house for dinner last night. I've known Danielle for 20 years, Brett and Chris for 15. Well, I think it's official that we've gotten older. Our dinner conversations consisted of finances (investing, 401k plans, IRAs) and putting our parents in nursing homes (since Chris's mother, suffering from Alzheimer's and MS, is already in one).

15 years ago, I don't think any of us thought that we'd be talking about this stuff. I feel like an episode of "thirtysomething."

I'm baaaacccccckkkkkkkk!

Haven't read all the way back, but this is what I've got so far--oh, except for the 'news' that Kenny Chesney (Rogers?) is Country Music entertainer of the year, Ding Dongs are lovely and Liz's mother gave the job the heave ho

We spent a few days there back when I was around 10 or 11. We stayed with an extended family member (insert dueling banjo music) he lived in the middle of no where outside of Wolf Creek. Generator for power at night, Outhouse, I can't remember what it is called, but he had dug a hole in the ground over an under ground spring for his refrigeration needs.

We went fishing in the back country in a maze of streams and brooks, this is where my Father to taught me to Stream fish for Trout.

My cousins and I went snake hunting,

I would have to say those few days are in my top 10 vacation memories
:cloud9:
Okay, since you harbor no elaborate expectations & are pre-trained, you can vacay with us, too, Keith!

Uh..no snake hunting, please!

Okay, so, for one of my classes I have to find as many parents as possible and ask them questions about parent teacher conferences. So I thought to myself, where can I find as many parents as possible??? Hmmmm.....the DIS boards of course! So, if anyone has time to answer these questions it would be infinitely appreciated by me. Or you could just answer one or two of them. If not, that's fine too. I'll just make up the answers.

1. Describe the environment the teacher set up for the conference. Were there things you liked/disliked? Things that made you comfortable or uncomfortable?

2. Did the teacher share specific observations of your child with you? How were these observations shared? (verbal stories, work samples?)

3. Did the teacher ask for input from you prior to the conference?

4. How long was the conference? Was this a sufficient amount of time?

5. Was there anything you would change about the conference?

1. WELL, imagine that!!!

2. Thank you. :)

Oh. Okay. I guess I didn't get that. I don't think I could use roach eyeshadow though. :scared:

I'm sure no one's here right now because they're all on the edge of their seats watching the Country Music Awards. I'm sure of it. Either that or that's just what I'm doing.

1. The corridor :bored:
I mean just how long can we find the bulletin boards of 'Your Community Service Opportunites' transfixing?
No benches, no chairs a lot of 'please be quiet' & every app't running over time
Second parts: does ths refer to the physical arrangements, the environment or the actual meeting procedures followed?
2. Yes, the teachers shared specific anecdotal insights.
This was done in a roundtable method, comprising all of his teachers and Patrick's guidence counselor.
Work samples, grade books, testing results and general observation, one at a time, teacher by teacher.
We thought this was an excellent procedure, enlightening us and the teachers.
The guidence counselor then led a discussion.
3. I am always keeping in touch w/teaching staff  via email or phone.
In the course of my community outreach I am constantly in contact with DS's teachers, past and present, so it is not unusual for Patrick's activities to come up. Tee hee
Whether the teacher contacts parents prior to conferences is on an individual teacher basis. The industrious do make contact, the much busier (or lazier) do not.
As for formal contact, his math teachers & I , yeah, they are in weekly contact with me.
4. One half hour.
Sufficient for us, but from the schedule running over, not long enough for others~
5. Well, now I bring work or reading material
I'd like to see them suck up waiting time with some display material pertinent to the school's mission or more specific to their various curricula. I'd like to see personel at these kiosks to answer questions.

As a product of the '60s, '70s Ill be frank and admit I used Roach eyshadow long before it became a corporate thing :rolleyes1

18. I opened a brand new box this morning so it was nice and fresh (just like me!). Last night when I was shopping for them, I saw the 18ish ounce size had "double clovers" in it.

46. I meant to write this in my last post. Make sure you are getting enough to eat and drink young lady. I know a lot of times when I feel tired, it's moreso that I need food and drink to get my body going again (better to overnap than to overeat though I guess).

:sad1: You used to be my friend. :sad1:

-- Rob

Just to be on the safe side, I do try to both overeat and overnap~
It's definitely not a look, but as a philosophy it is appealing and simple to pursue~

Anyone know how to fix a digital camera? I broke mine. Sony CyberShot DSC-S500. I dropped it, and now, the lens cover stays open when the camera is off. When you turn it on, the lens pops out, the cover half-closes, then the camera automatically turns itself off.

And no, I can't have it fixed professionally, for personal reasons. I could cry right now.

Liz, go on the photog board and post there, someone is bound to know
DH says that sort of work is involved.

Good luck!

I'll check on it, but I don't think it's going to be worth it. The instruction manual actually does say that dropping/shaking/striking the "unit" may make it unusable. I've already been looking around for a new one, and the newer Sony CyberShots all say that they're pretty fragile - one reviewer said you merely drop it on a pillow and it breaks.

I can't believe it...I drop my 11-year-old Sony TV on the floor, and it's fine. I drop my 1-year-old Sony camera on a thickly carpeted floor, and that's the end of it. And I'm really upset because I let someone important down, because I'd promised something and now I can't follow through.

Sorry about the camera, Liz. I do know the photog board should be a good source for researching a new buy.

As for the pics, I'm sure Rob & Keith can get by with the old ones--at least for a while!

I was looking for this thread earlier today-glad I found it tonight!! ;)

Welcome Linnie! :welcome:
this is the BEST time to show up--you know before Rob is here! :woohoo:

That's why I like my "old" Pentax Optio -- it has rubberized corners that serve as slight shock absorbers and it is also water resistant which makes it a fairly tough little camera. Though, shockingly, it can't handle a then 4-year old forcing the memory card into its slot backwards. These cameras came out in 2004 though which was a lifetime ago as far as electronic devices go.
