I'm baaaacccccckkkkkkkk!
Haven't read all the way back, but this is what I've got so far--oh, except for the 'news' that Kenny Chesney (Rogers?) is Country Music entertainer of the year, Ding Dongs are lovely and Liz's mother gave the job the heave ho
We spent a few days there back when I was around 10 or 11. We stayed with an extended family member (insert dueling banjo music) he lived in the middle of no where outside of Wolf Creek. Generator for power at night, Outhouse, I can't remember what it is called, but he had dug a hole in the ground over an under ground spring for his refrigeration needs.
We went fishing in the back country in a maze of streams and brooks, this is where my Father to taught me to Stream fish for Trout.
My cousins and I went snake hunting,
I would have to say those few days are in my top 10 vacation memories
Okay, since you harbor no elaborate expectations & are pre-trained, you can vacay with us, too, Keith!
Uh..no snake hunting,
please!
Okay, so, for one of my classes I have to find as many parents as possible and ask them questions about parent teacher conferences. So I thought to myself, where can I find as many parents as possible??? Hmmmm.....the DIS boards of course! So, if anyone has time to answer these questions it would be infinitely appreciated by me. Or you could just answer one or two of them. If not, that's fine too. I'll just make up the answers.
1. Describe the environment the teacher set up for the conference. Were there things you liked/disliked? Things that made you comfortable or uncomfortable?
2. Did the teacher share specific observations of your child with you? How were these observations shared? (verbal stories, work samples?)
3. Did the teacher ask for input from you prior to the conference?
4. How long was the conference? Was this a sufficient amount of time?
5. Was there anything you would change about the conference?
1. The corridor
I mean just how long can we find the bulletin boards of 'Your Community Service Opportunites' transfixing?
No benches, no chairs a lot of 'please be quiet' & every app't running over time
Second parts: does ths refer to the physical arrangements, the environment or the actual meeting procedures followed?
2. Yes, the teachers shared specific anecdotal insights.
This was done in a roundtable method, comprising all of his teachers and Patrick's guidence counselor.
Work samples, grade books, testing results and general observation, one at a time, teacher by teacher.
We thought this was an excellent procedure, enlightening us and the teachers.
The guidence counselor then led a discussion.
3. I am always keeping in touch w/teaching staff

via email or phone.
In the course of my community outreach I am constantly in contact with DS's teachers, past and present, so it is not unusual for Patrick's activities to come up.
Tee hee
Whether the teacher contacts parents prior to conferences is on an individual teacher basis. The industrious do make contact, the much busier (or lazier) do not.
As for formal contact, his math teachers & I , yeah, they are in weekly contact with me.
4. One half hour.
Sufficient for us, but from the schedule running over, not long enough for others~
5. Well, now I bring work or reading material
I'd like to see them suck up waiting time with some display material pertinent to the school's mission or more specific to their various curricula. I'd like to see personel at these kiosks to answer questions.
As a product of the '60s, '70s Ill be frank and admit I used Roach eyshadow long before it became a corporate thing
18. I opened a brand new box this morning so it was nice and fresh (just like me!). Last night when I was shopping for them, I saw the 18ish ounce size had "double clovers" in it.
46. I meant to write this in my last post. Make sure you are getting enough to eat and drink young lady. I know a lot of times when I feel tired, it's moreso that I need food and drink to get my body going again
(better to overnap than to overeat though I guess).

You used to be my friend.
-- Rob
Just to be on the safe side, I do try to both overeat
and overnap~
It's
definitely not a look, but as a philosophy it is appealing and simple to pursue~
