ROB: HEY there's nothing wrong with a small town. I'm going to start singing Mellencamp just for that.

Well I was born in a small town
And I live in a small town
Probly die in a small town
Oh, those small communities..

(except I wasnt zackly born in a small town, but you get the sentiment)

Educated in a small town
Taught the fear of jesus in a small town
Used to daydream in that small town
Another boring romantic thats me

(but I take exception to being called a "boring" romantic)

other than that, it's a great song. lol

 Nutters! Have a great night.

What does it mean when someone says "I resemble that remark"? No one's here but someone answer me eventually, oko?

It means they think they have the same qualities as the statement you just made.

It's usually an attempt at self deprecating humor.

to themselves, sort of

most people are just joking around, being silly.

Maybe today instead of a word I had a phrase. Or did I have a word and I already forgot? I think I was thinking of the phrase "I resent that remark" anyway. Now that would usually be an insult I believe. :scratchin

yes, "I resent that remark" would mean they did not like what you just said.

I'm thinking your words for the day will be resent and resemble.

Well aren't you precious.
It's about time you recognized that! Took you long enough. Sheesh.

Wait wait wait wait wait. And wait. There is no seating??? It's literally a drive-in???? I thought it was just called that. I didn't know there were still drive ins in this day and age. Wow. I really have to go now. And I'm taking pictures. This is going down in the books. It really goes to show you that you (especially if you're me) learn something new every day.
PJ! Do you never leave the campus except when you're going to WDW? There HAS to be drive-in restaurants in Cincinnati, other ones besides Putz's (which is in Cincy) shown here:

In KC, there is ONE Sonic that has indoor seating and about half have a table or two outside that you can sit at if you want to. Most have a drive-thru lane like every other fast food restaurant in America but they also have stalls with menu boards where you press the "red order button" when you are ready to order. The carhops then bring the food to your car. At two or three of the Sonics in KC, the carhops roller skate. WARNING: Drive-in restaurants like this means no public restrooms so plan accordingly.

Not sure if it is worth taking pictures at Sonic or not. If that seems rare or odd to you, maybe it is worth taking pictures then but Sonic does have a very corporate fast food chain feel to it (unlike Putz's I'm betting).

You 3 KILL me!!!!! :happytv:

Feel free to "resemble that remark"!!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

There's a BP across the street. They'll let you use their bathroom but be careful crossing the street. That area has gotten a lot busier in the past few years. Putz's is nostalgic to me. I practically grew up there. We also go to the drive in movies in Batavia. So I think I understand now.
YES MA'AM!!!!!! *salute*

I think I'm on a power trip now.

P.J.: I don't even read that lime green text. It hurts my eyes too much.

Awwww. Jean (and others in her boat): Even if there are no Sonics, surely there is some other place near you (unless you live in a really little hick town like E does). Some of the best drive-in (or at least no seating) restaurants in KC are independently owned non-chain places like Mugs-Up (though that may have used to have been a chain long ago), Clem's, Stacks, Harold's, and Humdinger's.

A little 'hick town'? Pop 1,000 inc summer people; 2 general stores open year 'round, 3 churches, 2 of which are year 'round. A library, with about, maybe, 1,000sq feet of space. Most roads are unpaved. Dairy farm, llama ranch; backyard milling operation. Post office. Police dept vehicles: 1 Ford Expedition, 1 snowmobile and 2 ATVs--
THAT'S IT! NOTHING ELSE!

Drive thru by my house:

Our town common, featuring the Congregational Church, the Town Hall & the Police Station--all have indoor seating.

The much photographed common is well known for the 4th of July weekend yard sale & the infamous Streaking Incident of (19)'76!
Our Nation's 200th birthday was celebrated with an Old Home Days picnic & music & a fleet of foot, slightly inebriated, giggly lady streaker.

It is still talked about...no word on if the gal was Canadian!

Hmmm... does sound LBelleish but also could have been Jean!!!

Lovely pics Jean. Did I read somewhere that you grew up on Oahu? Military brat? If not (or even if, if you want), you'll need to tell us how a Oahu girl ended up in the Northeast!

Now?

Well I've always been on a power trip when it comes to my complete and total control over you.

Ummm....Jean? Did you say llama farm? Your town looks really pretty. Something about a small town like that just seems so...I don't know...safe. I like it.

Yes, I am a Navy Brat!
started out in California--all up & down & around, then on for 4 years in Oahu :cloud9: on to Kingsville, TX, then up to various spots in RI & Mass. abrief trip to MD, then back to RI (are you taking notes???) then up to NH!
Whew! I think that's it!
Oops! it was back to TX (Dallas) in between there!

One thing about a small town--is it's small!
PJ, if you put on yr tutu & toeshoes for a little dance, you could easily draw a crowd of at least 200 appreciative people & we would serve "Light Refreshments", too! :rotfl:

Yes, the llamas are beautiful--especially when they're babies!
They have the largest, lovely eyes & walk soooo softly.

You really want to be careful should a llama surprise you!

One of my fave pics--a bunch of alpacas--they also have sheep, miniature donkeys, goats, turkeys, ducks & breed Australian Shepards (Aussies)

I swear I have NEVER, EVER been to Jonestavern's hometown!!!! :rolleyes1
