Finally...I can vent. What an unbelieveable day we had at the hospital yesterday. First of all, my mother was supposed to be the first one in. The hospital instead scheduled her for 12:35, be there at 10:30 for registration. Well, we figured it was no big deal. We picked up Louise at 10 and got there a few minutes past. And we waited...and waited...and waited. They took us all upstairs and we were allowed to sit in the waiting area with Mum...and wait...and wait...and wait...A few doctors came in to talk to her, of course, but it's a waiting game. Then we got the news that the OR was behind...they didn't take her in until 2 p.m. They said it would be an hour to 90 minutes and we'd know how she was, so Louise and I went downstairs to eat. We got back up at 3:30 and waited; they finally called the waiting room at 4 to tell us that Mum was fine, surgery was over, another hour to 90 minutes and we'd be able to see her. So we waited some more. The waiting room was rapidly clearing out. Finally at 6:15, we realized that no one was left, not even the lady at the info desk, so Louise went into the Phase II Recovery Room to see if someone would talk to us. Not 2 minutes later, a nurse came out, leading Louise by the arm, very snottily saying "OBviously she is NOT RED-dy to go home, and WE are CLOSED now, so YOU will need to go DOWNstairs and ask about her there." So of course, I freaked out. We did get it all worked out; Louise stayed and I went home to take care of the dog. Louise brought her home at 8:13; by 8:16 I was on my way to the pharmacy, and I made it there by 8:22 (they close at 9).

She's okay today...just really tired. I'm pretty much just sitting here. Although I had to get up this morning to cut down a broken tree limb...don't know what happened there; I got here last night to find that a limb was hanging off the tree.

Well, I did manage row 11 on the way there, I couldn't convince her I was handicapped for the bulk head and I better see handicapped people there when I get on that plane @@. And, row 21, which for some reason is also the row behind the bulk head on the way back, which is a red eye flight.

Bulkhead or Emergency row?

We always ask if the "Emergency Row" is available when we check in.

And we usually get it, It has a lot of leg room

Congrats on the ressies, hopefully it won't be as hot as it was this last weekend, hit triple digits all over Southern Cal

I wanted bulk head, but I'm in the row behind it. I couldn't get emergency becaus my son is too young to sit there @@. I booked two isles and a middle, so we both have the leg room.

Yes, I hope it's not that hot when we go, but it probably will be. Count on it! I bring on the heat.
This year we were in Utah when they had record high temps, last summer we were in San Antonio, record high tems, the year before in DC, record high temps. The last three summers we have been away with triple digets in July@@.
Even when we wnet to Alaska in June it was in the 70's, which is rare.

Liz - I'm sorry to hear about your mother. I guess I've missed what happened while I was away. What was the surgery for?

A great big hug for you

I'm not having a very good week...I keep thinking about it. I'm still bothered by what happened with Bill on Sunday night. Yesterday was upsetting. Now, my best friend is AWOL...I emailed him right when he usually gets to work, but I haven't heard back, and now I realize...it's one of those situations where if something were to happen to him, I'd never know...

I need to remind myself that I'm moving soon, my mother is home safe, and my friend is most likely just working hard today...

...

For some reason I woke up YESTERDAY morning wanting to watch My Fair Lady (maybe so I could bedazzle Liz with some more show tunes ;) )...

BTW, if anyone here has never seen MFL, let me just say that there is a reason the film won eight Academy Awards including Best Picture.

One of my favorite pics ever!
My friends & I used to get all Victorian once a year to watch MFL!
Big hats, umbrellas, lovely dresses, high tea!

Afterwards, we'd converge en masse to our fave fisherman's dive :rotfl:

I booked my California Flights tonight!!
I got a great price, well I think so anyway. $250.00 RT to LA!

I did get a little annoyed by Delta and spent 45 minutes on the phone telling them so.

Today was the first day you could book the seats and the whole front of the plane was taken. So, I call and ask why. They say they are "premium" seats.
What?? They are coach seats, coach is coach IMO.
So, I ask what premium seats cost. Oh, they cost the same. :confused3
But, you can't book them:confused:

You know by now, I'm whining big time;) pirate:
So, I'm pretty happy now.

Sometimes I call & pretend I am an executive assistant.
Did you remember to book with Keith Limo services?

Book early or ride on the roof w/Rob!

Yes I am home and finally able to sign in and say hello to everyone.

Now I have to get caught up with everything.

Anyhow, I'm sad the trip is over but it is also nice to be back home.

Hi Blue!
Love the new siggie!

I know that feeling too! It's definitely hard to adjust when you come back from a trip.

Not that this is of any interest to anyone, but I just bought a plane ticket to Orlando on December 20 so I will officially be working at Chef Mickey's again over Christmas break!!!! :yay:

:woohoo: GREAT!!! Good news!
I am sure you two will have a SUPER holiday!

<sniff sniff> I will miss you by a couple of weeks!

Hi all~

Well, I met Nichole on Friday night. I had a blast, but boy is that girl FREAKY!

I was a little scared when she brought out the can of spam at dinner and asked the waiter for a loaf of bread.

Yes, Nic is freaky! Everyone knows Spam is best enjoyed as a Spamtini:

Thank you...I think I need that hug...

Not to rile up the boys, but I figure they can be men about it...she had a hysterectomy. She didn't get cut completely open like I did when I had my surgery, but still...I guess it's just that she had a hard time coming out of the anesthesia. She was in recovery for 4 hours and it really bothers me that no one had the decency to let us know that. I still would have worried, of course, but couldn't they have said that she was waking up here and there and drifting off again? No, instead we got complete silence, which made me think that something was really wrong.

I'm not having a very good week...I keep thinking about it.

I'm sure next week will be a better one. Try thinking happier thoughts like planning your next WDW vacation :grouphug:

Hello Jean!!!

Thanks so much. It was hard to choose from all the pics we took :rolleyes1

We usually go up the right after the marathon is over. So, maybe our paths will cross. Kevin's uncle has fairfiled points and last year we stayed with him at Bonnet Creek. He mentioned doing that again! I hope so!
I hope I get to see you again!! :yay: Although, I doubt I could convince you to make another trip to Chef Mickey's! :rotfl:
Wow, that is a long heat wave for up there! I'm so sick of this extreme heat, but at least everything is air conditioned!
MUST BE NICE.

I really, really, REALLY H-A-T-E leaving that wonderful place.

LISA!!!!!! Yes, it does suck to come home but you had a wonderful time, right? Good to have you back.

:woohoo: GREAT!!! Good news!

p.s. ENOUGH with the spam-tini!!!!!!! :scared:

LIZ....   Deep breath. Sorry you're having a rough week.

I've gotta run..class 4:15-6:45. Later!
