And, from what I could tell, they don't watch the game either (I don't think we did much either when I was in high school.)
Only losers actually watch the game.

When I was in high school, I don't remember there being helicopters at every game (and, yes, PJ, helicopters WERE invented back then) but there is nowadays.
I wasn't going to comment on the helicopter thing but I have to say that saying "nowadays" makes you sound old. Just sayin

Your son is a cutie. Love his freckles!

A drive by...

Good Afternoon Nutters!

Hey, Jean! And Hi to PixieStarDustSparkleFairy!!!

My friend Eren is on her way over and we're going to take a picnic to the park and then rent a paddleboat. It is so absolutely gorgeous here right now. Have a great night, Nuts.

Just a drive-by to let everyone (who cares) know that I'm still alive...it was my blood sugar yesterday...

And I want everyone here to check out a band called The Last Goodnight. They're local boys from right here in Enfield, CT and their album "Poison Kiss" came out this week. I don't know any of them personally, as they're some years younger than me (a newspaper article says that they were in HS in the late 90s; I graduated in '92), and they went to the other HS in town. In fact, there's a thank you in the CD liner notes to their school! And I heard their song "Pictures of You" on the radio on the way home yesterday. They're pretty good, so please everyone humor me and give them a listen. I want these boys to hit it big and maybe put Enfield on the map!

Of course we care! I'm glad you're feeling better.

I might go listen to that but I make no promises. I am not very open-minded when it comes to music.

Hope everyone's having a good weekend. I'm headed to the park, then the pool, then the fireworks down on the river tonight. :dance3: Another beautiful day!

Another drive-by...I just spent $350 at Macy's. Lord help me.

I have lost weight...for the longest time, I never bought anything because nothing fit. Now it does fit, and when it does, I buy!

Congratulations on the weight loss, Liz!! That's great!!! :cheer2:

Hope everyone's having a good long weekend, must be, it's so quiet around here!

No Nuts around again tonight? I guess it is a holiday weekend but it's been awfully lonely chatting by myself all this past week. :guilty:

I did a few more chores today but also took it fairly easy. Watched some TV including the opening 20 minutes or so of a replay of Prince Charles -- Lady Diana's wedding on MSNBC -- for some reason, as a 12 year old boy, I didn't pay much attention to it when it happened live (though I do remember it being live on TV). Now, I might turn the tube on again to see what is on. Nowadays (I will have to use that word frequently to distinguish myself as an "old person"), there are many choices to watch on the night before Labor Day but I remember when I was a kid and we had our SIX channels, I always hated that Jerry Lewis took over one of them (basically because he pre-empted the syndicated reruns of M*A*S*H on our ABC affiliate on a night when I could stay up late enough to watch them).

Tonight about seven families that are all friends, all with kids about the age of ours (which, I agree, isn't too hard to do since my kids pretty much cover a 10-year time frame), got together for an evening of grilling, eating, drinking, and sitting around an open fire (actually cooled off enough so the fire was nice even if still not quite needed yet) -- a lot of college and high school football talk especially early in the evening when we were eating. It was a very nice and enjoyable evening -- hope everyone else is having a great Labor Day weekend as well. :thumbsup2

Didn't see PJ sneak in while I was writing my post...

Hi PJ!!!

-- Rob

So...um...last night I spent 3 hours next door at Bill's apartment. I'm really weirded out by it now. He's upset that I'm moving; he kept saying "What am I going to do without you?" and stuff like that, then he went into saying how he always thought I was cute...

Then he wanted to see some of the pictures of me when I'm all "gothed up," so without really thinking, I let him come in...granted, the place is a mess because of my packing, and there's no place to sit...at least all of my pictures are downstairs and not in my bedroom. He saw my "Same Nightmare Different Day" t-shirt waiting to be ironed, so I told him the story of how I saw Pauley Perrette wearing it on an episode of NCIS, and like a fool I told him that she's my girl crush and that I think she's really hot, and he got a bit too close and said, "You can tell me about that later..."

So just...um...yeah, I'm not too happy with myself today. I think he's a nice guy, but this is too close for comfort. He's already left, hopefully for the day, so I'm going to quick pack up and get dressed and head for my mother's.

You would want to distinguish yourself as an old person. WIerdo.

Sorry, I must have snuck out as well. Hi, Goofball.

 Don't worry about it, you'll be out of there soon enough and you won't even have to give him a second thought.

I am just finishing up my aunt's birthday present. Her party is today at my grandpa's house so I'm heading over there once I get it done. Nothing like a good family gathering. There will be food though and I never turn down free food so I guess I can't complain.

Happy Labor day to all the Nuts.

I heard from Blue and she's home!!!!! :dance3: Hopefully she'll be back with us soon.

Yes I am home and finally able to sign in and say hello to everyone.

Now I have to get caught up with everything.

Anyhow, I'm sad the trip is over but it is also nice to be back home.

I've missed you all too!!!

I'll need to catch up on my sleep and get things done around here before I'm back into the full swing of things.

I know that feeling too! It's definitely hard to adjust when you come back from a trip.

Not that this is of any interest to anyone, but I just bought a plane ticket to Orlando on December 20 so I will officially be working at Chef Mickey's again over Christmas break!!!! :yay:

No, you're just loopy from driving for the past 29 hours. Thanks though, I'm really excited. And this way I'll get to spend Christmas with my sister. That's great for both of us because otherwise she would have been spending it alone since we have no family down there. :guilty:

I have to get going now. Have a good afternoon, catch up on your sleep.

I never thought about that! I guess she can't go home for Christmas because she's working. That's nice you'll be spending it with her then :grouphug:

She and I actually talked about that a lot because she was somewhat dreading it. Last year at this time my best friend Eren was down in Disney working so my sister spent Christmas with her and then I came down on the 26th and we all celebrated together. This year Eren's back home and my sister doesn't really have any close friends down there so I was worried about it. I think this will be really nice even though I'm sure I'll have to work and I won't get to see any other family on Christmas day.

I am back from the family function and supposed to be catching up on school work right now but I'm actually decorating a bin that I'm going to put in my bathroom.

Hope everyone had a nice long weekend, time to start another week!
