Mixed Marriage 2: The Conversion Continues..... now complete

I just found this today. . . one lonely sllllooooowwww Sunday at work. :surfweb:

I can't wait for the rest! Have a great trip and hurry back!!

Guess What??? The real live TwinkieMama just called me! I heard her voice! I dont want to ruin any part of her trip report by giving any deets of her trip (that would be not good). She called be while she was waiting in the bus line to go to one of the parks ;) . There were LOUD people on the bus (maybe S'lates family???) but we managed to have a nice conversation. She is such a nice lady!!! She really is wonderful. It is very strange hearing her voice in real life and not printed words. She sounds just as friendly as you would imagine.

So they made it safe and sound. Yeah for the Twinkies!!!

Hope you twinkies are having a great trip
Utahmama is keeping the TR in line while you are away! :thumbsup2
I'm sure looking forward to a TR on this trip too! :cheer2:

and DH about had a flippie-fit  (which I didn’t even know was called a flippie-fit until I read kpk89’s trip report and then I thought… ah ha… of course that is what it is called…

My first cameo! Thank you, TwinkieMama! I agree that flippie-fit does seem a bit more masculine in nature than a hissy-fit.

I have it on the best of authorities (myself and my little brother) that the part of the station wagon to which you refer is most accurately called the "back-back." I lurked through your first TR, but couldn't resist the urge to correct your station-wagon nomenclature in this one.

Nuh-uh!!! TwinkieMama is correct. It's the "way-back". Says me and my little sister AND our little brother. 3-2. We win.

So he packs. We read more UG. We go for a walk. We load the car and lay out our clothes for tomorrow. We set the alarm for 4 am. We go to bed. For the record, 2 out of 3 Twinkies are too excited to sleep….
I hope the one who is sleeping is also the one who will be driving!

We made him go. (If I lose you now because I am obviously a terrible parent- that is ok- you wouldn’t want to read what happens later in the day.)
Ooh, some competition for the meanest ... but it'll take more than this to scare me away from your report! Quite enjoyable.

Remind me that I'm on page 19. I am engrossed in the reading, but it's been a long day and endurance is flagging. Back in the AM to enjoy the rest with my cup of tea. Earl Grey, hot.

(((Not that you're even here to read this, apparently! Hope you're having fun!)))

Thanks for the update UtahMama!! Let us know if you talk to her again!! I took your advice and read DISUNC's TR and it too is very entertaining!!

Twinkiemama-Your stories are very fun to read! I can't wait to read more! Hope you have a wonderful trip! :sunny:

Might this be a Star Trek: TNG reference? Shoot, I just outed myself as a dork. Oh well. Live long and prosper.

PM

(Psssst! I watch TNG almost everyday bcause it comes on Spike TV 3 times in a row. Signed, Counselor Troy wannabe)

We're leavin'the light on for ya! :sunny:

I feel like I've fallen down a rabbit hole here! Please allow me to introduce myself, since I've been lurking here for a little while catchin' up with TM & UM (but we're not supposed to post to UM just now...)

I thought I was doing serious research into our upcoming WDW trip, and I happened upon y'all. What a blessing! It's been a real eye opener, let me tell you!

It appears that I'm just a tad older than most of you. Most people here call me GrMammy. DH and I have been married 30 yrs this year. :woohoo: Y'all are talkin' bout Hamma pants, and I'm thinkin' tie-dye! :)

DS is 27 and a WDW NON-BELIEVER! But! He married last year, and DIL is going to convert him! :cool1: DH and DIL are already talking about a 2007 trip! I love her!

DD and SIL have three wee ones: DGS: 9, DGD: 6, DGD: 3. And these are the fresh converts! We're going to WDW Nov 2006 with #1 and #2 (that's what we call them in real life, too! :) Took #1 (then 7) in 2004. He loves wild, wild rides. #2 will be much more mellow. This troop lives in the same town as we do :cloud9:, which is on an island in the PACNW (Pacific Northwest).

Don't know how a lot of this stuff works, and don't want to 'hijack' anyone's thread, but not being sure how to do it, don't know if I am doing it. If I am, please forgive, and explain, too. Ooohhh, that made me dizzy. :crazy2:

Just wanted y'all to know I love reading this stuff, and I look forward to more. And, UM, I know you're there: I, too, am addicted to Suduko, as well as cryptograms.

Thanks to all of you for brightening my day.
:disrocks:

Welcome "GrMammy"! Glad to see another crazy Disney person here! :wave2:

I hope your DiL does convert your son. Soon both of them will be on here too!

:wave2: GrMammy :welcome: We love your dil already too! :rotfl:

GrMammy!!! Yes, we are forbidden to post on my TR till Sept.1. Thank YOu!!!!
I hope it'll be good. We are all so glad to have you as our newest DISfriend!

TwinkieMama should be home pretty soon!!!! I'm not brave enough to call her cell phone! I WANT to, though! At all hours of the day and night. "What are you doing now???" So, why dont ALL of us call her cell phone??? Hey YA! that 's a GREAT idea! Here's her number:
comp14.gif

It's in code. You have to be a NUMB3RS fan to crack it! Good luck with that.

Welcome GrMammy! Thanks for introducing us to your family-- can't wait to hear about your trip! If you can't convert your DS to the Magic, then maybe you should send him back where he came from! (on, second thought, a less painful punishment may be forcing him to ride IASW a hundred times in a row!)

Ouch! I think I'll pass on sending him back...Let's count on DIL to do her magic on him! We're already talking about taking the Segeway tour at Epcot. Has anyone done that yet? If so, do tell!

I read a TR that they did the Seguay tour. I think it was by Jamal. If I'm wrong I'll tell ya.

"El Rio del Tiempo" takes you on a boat ride through the River of Time as you explore the history of Mexico through the use of Audio-animatronic dolls dancing and performing, tourism films and scenes depicting Mexico's past. The 6 minute cruise is both simple and relaxing and finishes with a brilliant fiber optics supplied fireworks display
The above was cut and pasted from the Theme Parks pages. The fireworks are pretty neat.

I think the cool kids of the Trip Report pages aka the Maelstrommers whole point is that the ride is not so wonderful as to require a mad dash to Norway and a fast pass. I think that they can take it or leave it therefore you too must be a cool kid Utahmama. I am admittedly a nerd so I like the Spirit of NorVAY.

and kudos to pilferk for knowing his combination meals!

Yes, Twinkiemama, you are correct. It all started in 1000thhappyhaunt's first trip report. There are Maelstromers who LOVE Maelstrom, as well as those who could give less than half a crap about it. But ALL of us are surprised that Disney graced its entrance with a Fastpass machine. Hence, the mot-toe.

Still loving your report. I think I'm up to page 23 now. You really ought to visit the Maelstrommers. c'mon over. (it's actually a secret hideout for longwinded trip report writers!)

DH and I did the Segway tour in May. You can read about it my trip report--see the link at the bottom. We did it on Tuesday I believe. It was soooo much fun! We did the 2 hour tour. The first hour is spend learning how to get on/get off the segway, how to manuver it up hills and around cones. The 2nd hour is riding around World Showcase when it's closed. So much fun! I highly recommend it! :moped: I know, it's not a segway but at least it's transportation relate! :rotfl:
