Twinkie - Oh the fun things I've learned from reading your two trip reports since "meeting" you over on M2!

First off, you are a fabulous writer. But, I don't think I knew you were a biologist and teacher. I really enjoyed your science lessons. Took me back to my Advanced Biology class days in high school. Good times. However, we had a dress code back then that precluded wearing belly shirts and showing muffin tops in school. And I don't think thongs had been invented yet (except for the type otherwise known as flip-flops)!

Second, you were able to bring back memories from several years ago with such clarity. I pulled out my scrapbooks from past trips when my daughter was little and was remembering Food Rocks and late night swims right along with you.

Lastly, it was sweet to see your friendship with UtahMama develop through your banter here. I'm looking forward to your future trip reports and am off to read U-Ma's trippie now. I know I'll be "seeing" you over there!!!

I've loved both your TRs although it's taken me some time to get through this one. I'm going to have to find the picture of the Twinkie cake someone made from my brother and post it here.

We need more, how about a TR for your latest trip?

There is this family of five and the mom has left the matching t-shirt wearers in the dust… because she has sewn matching outfits for the whole family. The girls are wearing jumpers in a bright green jungle print with a few big red flowers thrown in for excitement and the boys are wearing Hawaiian shirts made from the same fabric.

By any chance did see have very short blond hair and carrying a guitar????
Did they sing?

The parade was billed to be about the pageantry and majesty of earth, many nations cooperating, just one moon and one golden sun and a smile means friendship to everyone one, yada yada yada. Not a single princess. No mice.

I like pageantry. I like spectacle. I was however somewhat skeptical about a mouseless parade.

Is it enough to say that halfway through the parade as I sat and watched the graceful dancing and the swirling costumes and listened to the lyrics that I began to cry because Here I Was in The Magic.
DH asked what was wrong with me. I tried to explain how I felt. He just patted me on the back and smiled. But I knew that what he meant was that he felt it too and he was also glad to be here in The Magic….

Once upon a time, I actually read through "How I Got of a Mixed Marriage". However, I forgot that little fact when I finished Horsegirl's TR earlier this week. So, yesterday, I waded into TM's wonderful first report. Now, here I am, sadly, at the end of this TR ... although I am relatively sure my eyes are ruined and my butt is permanently attached to this chair!

Glad TM has more trips in her head ... now if we can just get her to put them down in written form!

I like the trip reporters who respond to everyone but I haven't always done so- mainly due to time constraints and I knew I would forget somebody so it would be better to just respond as the spirit moves me and thus not respond to everyone instead of just leaving out one or two poor souls. So if I overlooked you please know that I did read and treasure your post. Thank you!

After lurking about for the last few weeks, your TR inspired me to join & post. My husband works in the next state M-F, which I've been very sad about - but upon discovering Disboard I'm glad he's not around to monitor my computer usage Now, if I could just convince my DD's (3y.o. & 4 y.o) to feed, bathe and put themselves into bed I wouldn't have to move!

Well, now I'm off to read Utah Mama's TR. This has been WAY too fun! I can't wait to post my TR in February 2007! Thanks again, I haven't smiled this much in quite awhile!
