Mistake you will not repeat next time...

The one mistake we'll never make again is running our vacation through the Saturday that starts Christmas week. I think that the crowds practically tripled!

We'll be out of there by that Friday morning next time!

Sometimes it really is the people that can take the magic out of the moment. We waited an extra hour past out reservation for that seat. Honestly, if you're gonna wait that long to eat (this was a 10 pm wishes) I really don't think they should let people out on that little veranda to watch the fireworks.

That just awful that people would act like that!!! They should not let people stand there during Wishes and your experience is a great example of why they shouldn't! I'm sorry you had to deal with that. I would have been beyond upset, I may have even had a few choice words to those ignorant people. I would have definitely complained to management there. It's ignorant, self centered people that ruin it for everyone else.

This is my theory and it works so well . As an extension of this rule, my kids know if they throw a tantrum, there is an absolute 0% chance that they will get anything (much less the toy they were wanting). Train 'em young, I say

Oh, I completely agree. But, I don't think my son did. I was the one in May 2008 in Pooh's Playful Spot suffering silently on a bench while my 5 year old wailed at full volume, and my husband and older son enjoyed the Winnie the Pooh ride. Our rules were you act up, you miss the next ride. Boy, was he mad!

It was our first trip of several. He's never done it again. But, even though I 'won' in the end, it was a losing proposition for us both. Again I reiterate, just buy the darn car!

Why wouldn't you stay and BC or BW during the winter. I've never stayed at either, VWL girl here but just curious.

Love both BW and BC but because they are both beach and seaside themed, I feel like you lose a lot of the resort experience if the weather is cold. Love sitting outside on the boardwalk, watching the live entertainment with the buzz of visitors or getting an ice cream at Beaches and Cream and relaxing with my feet in the sand on a swing.When it is cold, there's far less activity in the area. Now, if you just love these resorts for proximity to Epcot and HS, none of this would matter.We spend as much time at the resort as we do in the parks so it does make a difference to us.

I never thought about it that way. I'll have to keep that in mind. We utilize the resort a lot too. I love just sitting around, reading my book and watch the world pass me by.

The theming of CSR does nothing for me. I want to like it, I really do. Have tried it 3 times and ...nothing. See, I told you theming was important to me Even when CSR was the only mod to have queen beds and a gym, I always found myself wishing we had stayed at POR. Totally just personal taste. I am sure you will love it.

Will never again wear a cross body bag with strap that has to go over your head. Disastrous at park gate security when you are wearing a poncho and it's pouring rain (Monsoons of May '09).

Since bought a Baggallini with a strap that snaps off. I can reach up under poncho, unclip it for security, then snake strap up over my shoulder underneath poncho and re-clip it without taking poncho off. Also, always wear a cap with a bill, like a ball cap, under poncho hood to keep rain off face (and glasses).

About 20 yrs ago my family always went a couple weeks before Christmas and I do remember it being colder. I've told DH that I would like to go back just once sometime in Dec to see all the lights again but I agree, I don't like the idea of gloves, coats, sweatshirt and hat in the parks! We have found that our favorite time to go is in September. You still get the summer type weather without the crowds!

Christmas decorations are up in early November and it's not that cold or crowded then.

Not driving my own car! WDW is way better with wheels!

I completely agree with this. It once took us 2 HOURS to get from Wilderness Lodge to POR after a lovely dinner at Artist Point. We were somewhat miserable and now our memory of that meal is forever tainted by the unpleasantness afforded us by Disney transportation.

I am all for having a car at WDW, particularly if you want to check out the other resorts.

I will never go down in room categories again. On one trip we started with a suite at Royal Pacific at Universal, to a very nice room at the Bonnet Creek Hilton to a room at All Star Music.

Needless to stay, I am not allowed to book at a value category ever again.

I quote, "Why didn't we start at Music and move up from there?"

Although Music was actually quite good, I don't think we will ever stay at a value category resort ever again. Including AOA, where I would like to check out some time.

Start low and end up on a high note!

For some reason my touring plan always has us criss-crossing the park for fast passes, rides etc. I hate it and I always say that next time we're going to change that...yet go figure we never do. I was just planning a rough itinerary with my brothers GF and sure enough we start with fastpasses for space mountain and head over to Jungle Cruise...

if you have multiple adults in the party - have one (the quickest or most athletic) take everyones tickets and go get the fast passes while the rest of you head towards the other ride - maybe stopping to pick up snacks or doing bathroom breaks so you aren't to far ahead in line that they can't find you.

4. Skipping Expedition Everest because I get motion sickness. Next time I'm taking dramamine and then just going to sleep on a bench somewhere until the drowsiness wears off.

Take Bonine instead of Dramamine. It is a once a day pill. Take it at night. Here's what I do... start taking the Bonine the night before we leave. Take one each night before bed. No drowsiness and no motion sickness!!!
