Mission Space -> Orange vs Green

One of my daughters and I have ridden Orange many times, and once we tried Green just to see what it was like. The sensations are definitely different, and I really missed my favorite part of the attraction: the launch where I always feel like the skin on the sides of my mouth is being pulled off.

I love MS, but I don't do it more than once in a day because that's enough.

We did green and orange...green is definitely milder and easier on the tummy (and head). I came off orange feeling woozy and both kids were a little off after too. No loss of lunch or anything but it was intense lol

Orange is extremely intense. I'm not much of a roller coaster fan, so I can't say what the g-force feels like in comparison to one... but it's intense anyhow. That ride makes me feel like I'm going to DIE every time. The first few seconds (during lift off) is always the worst: the g-force is so high you can't really move your head or hands, and it feels like an elephant is sitting on your chest.

And yet, I always get talked into going again every single trip! It's a hate/love relationship.

I very much enjoyed the ride when it opened (only the intense side then) and rode it a few times but since I might ride it once a trip. I am a huge roller coaster guy but this ride makes me feel very weird. I have to say I honestly wouldn't let my daughter get on the intense side. I come off the ride with a very weird feeling. It might be the best ride I've ever been on but I have no issue not riding it again. I'm not prone to motion sickness but definitely don't feel right after Mission Space.

I'm not normally suceptible to motion sickness, but Orange made me mildly nauseous. I stick with Green, and have no problem. I'm a 53 yo male, healthy and in relatively good shape.

Both make me feel ill. :(. I still do Green if someone with me wants to go on the ride.

This for me.

I got really sick (like nauseous for multiple hours) with Orange and mildly nauseous with Green.

And this is coming from someone who can ride Star Tours with no ill effects.

The only way you'll know for sure is to try it for yourself.

I went to the Mission Space for the first time last year. At first, I didn't know what the difference on the color especially on Green and Orange. I did talk to the CM on what the difference on those, and I decide to go for the Orange. Boy, I learned the hard way. At first, I did enjoy it but I don't like the ending of it. My body was out of whack for couple hours. I am plan to do that again this upcoming trip, but will go for Green instead of Orange.

If you're easily susceptible to motion sickness, SKIP THE ORANGE TEAM SIDE. I hardly EVER get sick on rides, and this nearly put me down for the count. I had to sit for 10 minutes after to get my head back on straight.

THIS! We did it as our first ride in the morning, and I felt horrible for the rest of the day. DH was laughing at me, but I gagged in a garbage pail and had to lay on a bench for a good 15 minutes for the world to stop spinning. :crazy2: It was awful! If DS8 ever wants to try it, we (or at least DH) will be on the green.

I've only done the orange side and it was the worst experience I've ever had with any kind of ride at any theme park. I broke out in a cold sweat and had to lay down after we got off. I felt sick to my stomach for hours after. I'm even scared to try the green side after that.

Orange only. They need to get rid of the green side like it was in the beginning. Seriously. Might as well just go sit in front of a video game at the arcade if you choose that.

The fact that my wife, who can't handle even space mountain or Everest, prefers the Orange, and my 5 and 11 year olds do as well, tells you first, it's fun, 2nd, it's really not that big a deal.

I have always done the Orange team but I love rides. There are 2-3 really intense moments on MS where I believe you are feeling 3+ G-Forces. You will feel immense pressure on your legs like a 300lb. boulder is in your lap.

If you are really really scared of rides I would just stay clear of Mission Space.

One helpful hit when riding the orange side, play with the controls non stop.. even if you just tapping a button or playing with the joystick AND focus on the screen. DO NOT LOOK AWAY from the screen to your right/left; this will most certainly cause you to get motion sickness. However, If your eyes do start to wander you will start to notice everything start to move left to right, quickly focus on the screen and again play with the joystick.

Your head will feel strange for about 15 minutes due to the G-Forces.

Tell that to my stomach that almost turned itself inside out. lol

My husband was so sick after riding the orange side. He had to lay down and was out of sorts the rest of the day.

Per WDW - there is a less intense way to ride Mission Space.
Is Green really less intense?
I hate roller coasters :furious:
Please tell. I would love to try Mission Space, but I have been running away from it :tiptoe: every time we go to WDW.

its not a roller coaster at all. Green has no G force, Orange has the G force. that's the biggest difference even me with my back/neck issues can do Orange with no problems.

I actually did Orange first, then tried green and found it to be way wimpy.

So if GREEN - has no G-Force and no Spinning -
then is it just a screen show ?
No moment on the green side ?

Please explain green a little more in detail.
Thank you.

well you still have the claustrophobia to contend with. and you will still move( like Star Tours does)
