No real penalty since the Virtual Queue (VQ) don't cost anything. The only restriction is that if you miss your VQ Boarding window you can't get another VQ for that attraction on the same day.

Sorry but this is not always correct. Many have reported missing their Tron VQ BG and if their original BG fully expired before 1 PM, they have been successful getting a new VQ either for the same attraction or, a different attraction.

This has been the case for Tron. I’m not positive for Guardians as technically a Guardians VQ doesn’t expire and can be used from the time it is called until park close.

We have not had any reports about Tiana but it would be worth trying again at 1 PM or, even trying to tap in late as some have found CMs allow late entry with an expired VQ for Tiana’s but this has been inconsistent.

Basically, rule of thumb is, if you’re late, all 3 VQ’s behave differently:
- Guardians you can still ride

- Tiana you may be able to ride but if not, try again at 1 PM for Tron, Tiana or, Guardians if you have hopped to Epcot

- Tron you likely will not be able to ride but you can try for a VQ at 1PM for Tron, Tiana or, Guardians if you have hopped to Epcot
