I thought it would be fun to share things that our children (or us) have misheard or understood from disney.

Mine:
We went to disney when our daughter was 3yo. We went out to dinner after a day at the Magic Kingdom. We weren't sure how much of the day she absorbed and how much of it went over her head.

So here we were sitting at dinner when from little miss Abby we hear "Its a ball world ask it all, Its a ball world ask it all!"

Needless to say we had a good laugh at that one.

Anyone else?

I don't go on Splash Mountain any longer without singing along with "How do you do? Fine, how're you? How do you do? Pretty good, show us your bone."

A couple of years ago, my then 3 yr old son called Snow White....Snow Wipe! :rotfl:

Before our first trip my then almost 3 year old daughter called Epcot "Apricot".

Another story is she had seen pics of Epcot and one day she called me in her room to exclaim "Mommy we are going there, to Apricot!" and she is smiling and pointing out the window. I am trying to follow where she is pointing and in the distance I see a water tower! Well to her credit it is kind of round!

BTW now that she is almost 4 yrs she still often slips and calls Epcot "Apricot".

Let's see, my kids are good for a few interesting "interpretations"!

1. My DDs (4) think that all the characters live in the castle! :earseek:
2. Last year at the Poly, along the waterfront, there was a small lamp on the railing that kept flickering for most of our trip. One of my daughters was completely convinced that it was Tinkerbell, and every time we passed by (even in daylight) she had to say "Hi" to Tink! :wave2:
3. They are convinced that Mickey controls the castle colors and the fireworks. ::MickeyMo
4. They think the white birds (maybe egrets :confused3 not sure) are called Big Beaks and are part of WDW.
5. They think you can only go to "Mickey World" if you behave and "they" call you and tell you its your "turn". (Our "turn" will be 11/29, they just don't know it yet :cool1: )

This is my fave! One of the women in my office asked if those were the words to that song. hehe!

I have 2... one is when DD 12 (Brianna) was 2 1/2 and it wasn't at WDW but have to share anyways. Memorial Day of 95 we had a "freak" tornado whip through our town that caused ALOT of damage. Whenever we would be out and about and she would say "That bad tomoato"

The other was at Epcot in the Living Seas in May of 98 (Brianna again was 4) ( I have on video) We are at the tank looking at all the fish and there are these fish that have very prominate foreheads and it makes their eyes look scrunched down in a frown. Well she began to tell us ... "There were these evil fish and they looked just like this" and she made the same face the fish had. Was very cute.

It's fun going to WDW with your children as well as nicer when they are a tad older, but I really do miss that amazement in their eyes and excitement in their voices when they are young and at WDW.... :goodvibes

Two years ago while staying at POR our DS (then 3) said he wanted to go to the cat pool. We had no idea what he was talking about until he said very impatiently "you said it was a kitty (kiddie) pool". :cat: Pretty cute.

At EMH at MK in January Space Mountain was not running for part of the night. The CM said someone's hat blew off so they had to get it an reset the sensors for the tracks. He was very nice and said the ride would be back up in about 30 minutes.

As we were walking away DS9 said "Did he say someone's HEAD blew off?" :earseek:

My just turned two-year old Niece insists that Tinkle-bell is the fairy. I'm sure you can tell what phase we are going thru. :rotfl2:

At Living Seas, my then 3 year old thought the stingrays looked like they were crying. He would run around the aquarium part going, "look mommy another sad stingray...look mommy, he's sad, too...oh no, this one is crying, too...all these stingrays are SO sad!" I could never figure out why he thought they were crying but with him you have to just laugh and let him go with it. One time, in the car, he sniffed loudly and proclaimed, "Hey, I smell gray."

This is a long story and I gotta admit I am the bad one here.

I am a bit famous in my family for stretching the truth for entertainment value, especially with my kids. Many years ago, while riding the monorail to Epcot, I told my kids that the "ball" only weighed 80 pounds and was placed on the supports by one guy on a stepladder. The hardest thing about it was finding a day with no wind. Well, my kids, knowing me as they do, took the whole thing with a grain of salt. As we were leaving the monorail, however, I overheard a guy telling the group he was with, in a VERY authoritative tone, that "the Epcot ball weighs only 80 pounds and was put in place by one man on a step ladder." So now, if you ever hear that story, you know the source.

:confused3

This isn't something my DD said, but what she did. We were on the Junlge Cruise and she was about three at the time. Anyway, the boat captain said something that made her think the animals were real, she jumped and the next thing we knew her large round lollypop was stuck to the side of her head. The entire boat of people laughed through the rest of the cruise, good thing, because it drowned out her hysterical crying! :rotfl:

Many years ago we were walking past the Castle when we overheard a big, hairy linebacker of a man who was obviously trying his best to get into the spirit of things for his children. He was tagging along behind them looking at the Castle when he said, "So what time is Twinker Bear's flight?"

These are great, keep 'em coming! :Pinkbounc

Ok.. One more - my daughter likes to watch the movie "The bear me-sesames"... Needless to say you know what her favorite part of The jungle book is.

DS5 keeps telling everyone we are going to "The Land of Florida" to see Mickey. Translation: what he really means is "Orlando Florida", somehow it just got mixed up in his little but always inquisitive mind!

On our way home from her first visit DD4 told us that she liked the Magic Kingdom but that she didn't care much for "Egg-pot". She thought Spaceship Earth was a giant egg, hence the name.
