Minnie Marathon 2007 -- WISH Roster (see post 1 for WISH Meets Info!)

Kimberly - It's just me for the 5K; DD will stay back. Taxis are never a problem and vary in size from sedan to minivan. We just need to call down ahead of time, sometimes the night before and they'll be waiting. We did it last year from BWI to Minnie 15K start and DH did this from AKL for an early morning MK train tour. PM me your email if you want.

I will send my email to you. I will talk to dh tonight, and see what he wants to do also. Who do you call...the actual taxi service or can lobby guest services reserve one?

We're doing the 15K and staying at BWV. I have a minivan so could take another 4 people staying in that resort area. We're planning to drive to EPCOT then take the bus to AK.

Good morning team!!! 2 weeks today I will be on a plane to Orlando!!!!!!!

Got out for a 4K last night, I think my plan calls for 8 tonight which is great as our weather has turned really nice. Hopefully it is here to stay.

Kim

I got out last night too...only for a half an hour(which I did 2 miles in):woohoo:, I know not great, but at least it is something. Next weekend we are supposed to do the Walk America and that is 5 miles so that will be my "LR" (actually I will be walking) The insurance company for workmens comp still has not approved the epidural, which I was hoping to get before we leave, so I called my lawyer yesterday and hopefully he will be able to get it figured out. :confused3

I can't believe that it is just 2 weeks away...I told DD that two weeks from now we will be on the plane to sunny:sunny: (hopfully)FL!!!!

Happy Training all, and see you in 2 weeks...or 2 weeks and 3 days for sure!!!!!:thumbsup2

OMG--I just now realized that we'll be leaving 2 weeks from tomorrow. For some reason, I thought the Minnie was in 3 weeks. Holy moly! Can't wait!!! Will try to get some training in this evening at a running clinic, but DH can't guarantee me that he'll be home in time to watch the kiddos!

Maybe I'm just slow, but has anyone else noticed the pic of the medal posted on the 15K site? I didn't read all the responses here so maybe this has been known for awhile, but that pic wasn't there last time I looked.

Anyway, the medal is way cuter than last year!!! It looks more like it belongs with the marathon medals. Minnies head is too cute. I'm gonna like this one much better than last year's.

Good morning!

Well, the family is still visiting but I am still managing to get my training in. I did 4 miles monday at 39:30 and again this morning at 40:33. I guess I am getting pretty consistent with a 10 minute mile, which makes me feel great. Yesterday I used as a "cross-training" day; we walked around Universal's Islands of Adventure for about 8 hours! Riding roller coasters all day is hard work..... :rolleyes1

Hope everyone is doing well! I can't believe how fast the race has come.

For all my 5K buddies - when I signed up for the race I could have sworn it said that 5K participants got a commemorative race shirt and a medal. No medal for the 1 mile group. Looking over the site now I don't see any mention of a medal for the 5K group anymore. Do you think they have scrapped the medal for us? I know last year the 5K folks got medals. I'm going to be sad if there is less bling for us!

Thanks Kimberly, I should have read the race instructions again!

Here is a pic of the 5K medal from my website I took at the Marathon Expo back in Jan.

Wow I get so inspired whenever Isee one of these medals!!!!!

I can't wait to go. Only 9 days of work left. I think Iwill count work days since my office is full of files that have to be done before I go but I can't seem to stay away from this thread.....:scared1:

Yikes only 8.5 days nowit is almost lunch time:lmao:

Hi, everyone! Sorry I've been MIA. I was working on an emergency case for 2 1/2 weeks, then away for Easter and have been sick for a week now. Finally went to the doctor yesterday and I have bronchitis, upper respiratory & sinus infections and the start of an ear infection. Haven't trained since Saturday when 60 minutes on the TM seemed harder than the marathon. I did 60 minutes on the bike one night this week, too, though it seems like a blur.

The doctor "grounded" me for a week because the antibiotic I have to take can cause weakening in the tendons and slight chance of injury during training. He also did pulmonary tests which he said were "just ugly" and put me on asthma medicine. Well, at least now I know why I've been feeling so wiped out.

The great news is I have almost 15 days to get completely better before I leave for Minnie weekend!

I hope everyone else is staying healthy.

Cam--I posted this on the weekly thread, but please take care of yourself. We need your smiling face at the Minnie!!!

Well, did some xtraining today--a brutal yoga class! Kicked my hiney! Who knew "relaxation poses" could burn so bad!:confused3 Anyway, gonna try to run 3 miles tonight at a running clinic, but DH might not get home in time to watch the kids--just a wait and see! Happy training all!!!:goodvibes

Cam, feel better soon! I am praying I don't get sick before we leave.

I got in an easy 3 miles yesterday. Congrats to all for all the training! Everyone is doing so well. 2 weeks from today I will be arriving in FL! I can't wait to meet you all!!

Happy training :)

Hey all. did my LR today instead of tomorrow b/c DH has to work tomorrow. 9 miles in 84:30ish. Not bad, not great. Felt really tired--mostly I think b/c I only had approx. 12 hours between workouts. But at least it's complete. :thumbsup2

I did my last LR this a.m. 7 miles 13:47 pace. But I'm afraid its going to be much tougher in the Orlando heat :scared:

Have a great weekend everyone!
