Hey Pete Glad you got the help you needed in Minnesota. We are very proud of our state and what it offers everyone. I was raised in St Paul and now live in a small town by Rochester, MN. The weather is cold and it will get much colder, but you do get use to it. Just wear layers. Good luck in your quest. :cool1:

I spent a summer in Minnesota when I was 11. My brother and I loved it! It was a small town near Rochester called Theilman (if I remember correctly). We lived at the Whipporwill campground where my Mom worked. :goodvibes

I know where that is, but we are the opposite direction. We are 13 miles east of Rochester. Winter sucks, but you can't beat the other three seasons.

I work in Eden Prairie! Have to admit... I almost drove off the road when I heard that (very proud of you by the way).

Glad you like downtown Minneapolis, Pete. You like coffee? We've got a Caribou on almost every corner here in Minnesota.

Should Pete set up a Minnesota meet? Anyone else in MN agree?

My father lives in Eden Prairie. My mom in Minneapolis and my brother in Hopkins. I guess I'm the only one who realized that you can escape Minnesota winters. :thumbsup2

I actually miss Minnesota and all of the super friendly Minnesotans. I do go back to visit, every summer. :)

Another "ex" Minnesotian here. I grew up south of Mankato. I still have a lot of family including my parents there.

Are the sidewalks still heated in downtown Mnpls? When I was a kid, the sidewalks were heated in the winter.

Connie, are you in St. Charles? I have family there...

It's a shame that you'll be here in our cooler season, Pete, because we've just finished one of the most glorious weather summers I've seen in MN. It's been sunny and 82 about 90% of the days during summer.

Make sure you bring a nice, warm coat, because as some point, you'll want to venture out of the skyway system. If you really WANTED TO, though, you could live all winter in the skyways downtown and never leave. Theaters, fine dining, shops, banks, NBA Basketball, and even Target all available in skyway without stepping one step outside.

PS: Yes, please DO get a Caribou Coffee Mocha. It's much better than Starbucks and simply delicious and a Minnesota Original.

For those of us in the northern climates, watching the days fly off the calendar toward winter is a bit like watching an Amtrak train bear down on you at a high rate of speed. Paralyzing and there's nothing you can do about it... well except MOVE to Orlando!

:sad2:

If a meet happens before late Jan, I would gladly drive to MSP to be there! I live in La Crosse, WI so it's only 2.5ish hours away.

Minneapolis is a great city. If it wasn't for the fact that it gets really cold and doesn't have Disney, I'd move there. Since I like it warm and I lllooovvee Disney, I'm moving to Orlando in January. Hurray!
