Minne Marathon Team List

I have not been able to find out on the Disney website, so I thought that I would ask all of you!! (as I know that you will know)
Do wheelchairs start on there own or do you go with everyone else??

:upsidedow Count me in for last minute packing! I'll start to gather thing probably this weekend, but won't be done till probably late Wednesday night or right before I leave thursday morning. I usually do one last load of laundry the day before I leave for final packing..
I'm going to work for a little bit next thursday, and headed straight to the airport. So this time next week, I'll be shutting down my computer and off I go:cool1:

I have another question..

My Disney massage on Monday was so nice I am thinking of trying to book one after the Minnie. So when would you do one? Monday?

Carol - I'm going SUnday to SSR, but not sure how many are left. I felt liek a new woman after the one I had last year on SUnday!

Skyo - I know they get about a 5 min head start for the marathon, but just can't remember for the Minnie.

Syko, I'm a back of the pack person, so I really can't speak to what is happening up at the front. There is a Wheelchair award category, so I would suggest that you fire off an email to WWoS wdw.sports.marathon.endurance@disneysports.com. They are pretty good at getting right back to you. Hope this helps! See you in two Sundays!! :goodvibes

Anne -- Thank you so much, sweetie, for keeping the list up to date. Can you please add the following to the 15k list?

Keenho (Howard) -- Coronado Springs & POP Century

Thank you! See you in 8 days!

I'm glad I am not the only one who puts it off until the very last minute.

I still need to get summer clothing out and see if anything fits. Other wise I will have to make a trip to Kohl's for their "Biggest Sale of the Season."

Nancy

Nancy, I hit Kohls on my home today and picked up two swim coverups at 55% off--one was tagged $30 but rang up $13 and change, the other was $26 and came up $11.70 or something. They were already looking picked over, so now I know why I can't ever find one--it doesn't occur to me to look until late June or July!

I need to try on shorts, etc. and see what is in clean condition. I bought dh two new shirts at the Disney store two weeks ago--I need to wash those so he has them on the trip. Why don't men ever notice that they've slopped up their shirts? :sad2: I am not saying I don't slop up--I just don't wear shirts all stained up when we go out! So he has new shirts (plus new WISH gear!).

BTW, I'm going to update my PTR with photos I took of the spibelt pouch. I took photos of it empty and then with different things in it so you can see how much it holds (although I am hoping to trick, er, I mean, convince, dh to carry the camera!).

Well, i did it, i did my 2nd attempt at outdoor jogging/walking tonight - went to that bike path, finished my 3miles in just under 40 min. - so not as good as at home on the tm, but still ahead of pace.. so i'll take it.. however, i did notice after that my top thigh on my right leg is extra stiff/sore -- so i stretched it out a bit -- i am sure it will be better tomorrow.

I want to thank everyone for the positive vibes after last nights diappointing try -- it was all your words that totally helped me!

Susie(escape)--- I didn't realize that you were going to be at the Minnie.

Since I am just starting to experience warmer weather here in PA, I hope that the heat and humidity don't do me in on race day. I have to remember to stop and buy some sports beans for the trip.

Nancy

Nancy - I signed up a just few weeks ago. I originally wasn't going to be able to make the trip but now I'm am. Can't wait to see everyone.

I need to do a much better job packing for the Minnie than I did for the ING Georgia last month!! I brought all the wrong things and just about froze to death!!! Of course, that won't be a problem this time!!

I am also a bit nervous because I am flying for the first time in about ten years except for flying with hubby in his Cessna. I am not afraid of flying; just seems ever so much more complicated post 911...definitely following the tip to carry all my running gear in my carry-on!! :thumbsup2

Glad to hear your jogging/walking went well tonight. See what our WISH team can do!! Everyone is so wonderful here and gives the best advise.

Getting kind of nervous about the 15k but I am sure I will be fine. I haven't had much of a chance to get out and do any running/walking - 7 miles on Sunday and then another 4 miles on Tuesday and nothing else. I know I definately have 8 miles planned on Sunday and maybe a bike ride tomorrow. I want to get more runs in before the Minnie but I am dealing with my left shin splint (which ends up going away after I get past mile 2 :confused3 ) I think I am going to make sure I get my LR in on Sunday and then maybe 1 or 2 2-3 milers next week and possibly another bike ride and then I can start packing (which will most likely be Friday morning and after work - we leave Saturday AM and will drive home on Tues)

I think I am on the collectors board way too much.
I just found this thread. Okay, I am slow....

I will be walking/ trotting the 15K. Just avoiding the "sweeper".
I will not be SWEPT !

I am staying at BWV. I didn't get to walk the WDW half in January because I had a cast on my left foot. Plantar fasciitis ( sp ).
I am a little better now. I will be the one dragging my left foot.

I am very excited about the event and getting a medal this year. Yippee !

Susan

Susan, there is a Minnie 15k Walkers thread. I will add you there.

Good luck and you won't get swept!!! You won't get swept.
