Minne Marathon Team List

Ok, i am feeling very stupid here -- but where EXACTLY does the 5k start?? I know we run thru Epcot --- But where exactly do we have to take our cab or whatever to? I am feeling confused! LOL

I'm not going to be able to make it this year, but maybe next year I can swing it? Have a great time TEAM:cheer2: :flower3:

I'm new here, but I am doing the 5K and 15K. I had originally signed up for the 15K, got freaked out about actually being able to finish(and getting swept), so I signed up for the 5K as well, giving me a goal I knew I could definitely reach. Now I think I'd at least like to try the 15K (and for sure do the 5K). I am staying at Beach Club.

does anyone know how strictly they sweep the 15K? I have heard the marathon and 1/2 are strictly swept, but since the minnie has alot less people I was wondering if it would be different.

I don't think teh sweepers can be much more lenient for the minnie than for amrathon. They still have roads to get re-opened. I would think they would eb less trigent if you make it into MGM, then there are no road closures after that. Still, you just can count on leniency.

i have to admit don't have any idea about cab companies so if anyone could give us a heads up nearer the time that would be great. You never know there maybe a whole group of us POFQ's by then.

There are usually cabs waiting by the main building at most of the Disney hotels. I think it should be the same at POFQ but if there isn't one, I think front desk will help us to call one. :goodvibes

I have a couple questions...
Are there time boards (or what ever they are called) as you pass each mile marker?

It's hard to tell where all the waterbreaks are on the race map...are they spaced every so often or randomly?

How many car on/off ramps do we have to climb?

Thanks in advance for any answers..oh, there will be more questions.

Let's see if Carrie is busy at work and I can beat her in posting a picture...

Now, that is what it looked like LAST year. They seem to be redoing all of the medals...

joan4mickey, Minnie is a SMALL race in comparison to those at Marathon weekend. It doesn't rate time clocks at the miles..we get people who yell out the time as you pass the mile markers!

There are only two real on/off ramps in the race. The first one is after mile 4 and the second is after mile 5 heading towards MGM. The first one is the worst of the two, though.

The water stops are spaced about every 1 1/2 miles with the exception being the one after mile 4 1/2 which is 2 miles.

Hope this helps! Keep on asking!! :goodvibes

Well, look at Anne, going all tech on us and posting pictures! :thumbsup2 I love you, Anne! Just pickin' on ya.

I stuck my heard in here to see if we've decided on a meeting place or are we going to EoS? :confused3 Doesn't matter to me, I just need to know. In case we haven't decided and are looking for something different, how about SSR? Don't they have a food court? I've only walked thru so I don't know but it sure looked nice. Just a thought though.

Judy,

SSR doesn't have a food court - it's a weird sort of "quick" service place where you order and then they give you a pager for when your food is ready. I guess there is more seating there, especially at non-peak times than at EOS, but it's not as large as the food courts at POR and FQ. It could work, I suppose. And it would be easier for me to get to, staying at OKW. :)

Oh my gosh. That medal is soooo cute. I WANT one, too! :)

Last year my DS was the person yelling times at the 8 mile marker - right in front of the Rose & Crown. He was doing the Disney College Program and volunteered since I was doing the race with my sister and niece.

This year DS is back in school, but has asked to join me, his aunt and cousin for the race :cool1:

Should be a great weekend!

SSR has really good flatbreads. A nice carb option. ;)

I'll go anywhere (in the World :goodvibes ) to meet up with Minnie Wishers :cutie: I did like SSR's food court when I ate there last year!

Guess who's coming to Minnie?!?!

:cool1: :cool1:

Got confirmation from work today... looks like I will be able to come up after all!!

Kevin :earsboy:

Hooray! Kevin is going to join us for Minnie weekend! I love your signature: "Dr. Solo and the Women"! :cool1:
