I haven't flown to Orlando since 1999. Which car rentals are on airport property? Any great deals for a minivan during July 2 - 8? I will driving out of state so I will need unlimited miles. The specials I'm seeing from National and Alamo ends in Feb.
www.mousesavers.com/rentalcar.html has great rental car tips and codes you can use. Typically the "deals" listed for each rental car agency can be beaten with some creative thinking. Read Mary's pages over at Mousesavers for more info.
I think it is still early for codes for July. We are going in August and I am feeling the panic too. We are hoping for a good code, so I keep watching, but I know it is too early. Last summer, Thrifty had minivans for 169.00 a week with unlimited miles. I hope there is a repeat of that one. We did rent with them for an economy at 79.00 a week-same code for December. They were great to work with.
The rates I'm getting are near $300. I currently have 2 ressies with National. A full size in ER for $107.xx and an intermediate in EA for $101.xx.
We are 2A/3C. Two kids will be in a carseat and booster. The 3rd is a skinny teenager. We will have 2 large suitcases, 1 rolling dufflebag, and 1 golf bag OR 2 large suitcase and 2 golf bags. Of course we will have our backpack carry-ons. I figured I can put 1 golf bag on the floor of the rear seat since 2 of the kids can't touch the floor.
Do you think we can all fit from the airport to our Disney hotel and back in these type of cars? I'm holding both ressies because I hope to see a minivan in the EA row. If not, then I'll go to the ER row and get the largest sedan there. I hate to spend for an extra $200 for a minivan.
I haven't seen any good codes, promotions, etc. later than May. I'm holding an 11 day minivan rental in June with National usning the Priceless and Entertainment coupon for a total of $419. I know I'll do better than that as we get closer to the date. I did rent through Thrifty last year for the $169 / week. A great deal with absolutely no hassel. Be patient!
I reserved a minivan just yesterday thru National for July 8-15 using the Entertainment coupon. I got it for $266.37 including taxes and fees. I thought this was pretty good, since the quotes I was getting prior to this were around $400 for the same time period. And I know I paid about $400 for the week last year. I grabbed it. I like National because it's right in the airport. We've never had a problem with them before. Good luck.
Just tried your dates with National. Got $228.75. Used Product Rate Code WWEB, priceless contract id 6600330 and entertainment coupon id 10009123.
This product rate code is coming up $219/wk for a minivan.
Mawjaw, how come we are able to use that Product rate code even though the expiration date is 5/05 (according to mousesavers)? I was able to use it on my August ressie.
