Hello everyone! Cast is myself , 37, niece, 12 (third trip with me) and two nephews ages 16 and 14, first trip for both of them.

Just got back from a great trip August 22-August 29. We arrived at MCO around 11:30 to find a very long line at Magical Express. I hoped this wasn't a sign of things to come. The line moved along quite quickly and we were soon on a bus for my first trip home! :yay:

Upon check in (it was now around 1pm) I knew we would be to early and we were so off to Mara for a snack and then the pool for awhile. I called around 3pm and the room was ready! :cool1: :cool1:

After a very long walk on the Zebra trail we found our 2br L/O, rooms 5543 and 5545. I can't explain how I felt when I walked through that door and looked at my new surroundings. I had stayed there 3 years ago but of course it wasn't the same. We had a great view, a people pen below but it wasn't bad and we always saw zebras, at least 2 giraffes including a baby giraffe, kudu and watusi cattle. It was such a great room. Loved the decor, the wood and the details, the ostrich egg lamp :goodvibes , the king size bed was so comfy. My niece ended up sleeping with me because she thought the living room was too dark when everything was shut off. :confused3 Luggage magically arrived and then we were off to Epcot for our ADR at Biergarten.
Epcot had EMH this night so we had a very good dinner at Biergarten (mmm pretzel bread) and did TT, Soarin, and Spaceship Earth 2x. We decided to call it a day around 12am seeing that we had been up since 4:30am. :rolleyes1

Saturday we headed to HS and straight to TSM. Got a fast pass and then rode/played once. Glad we did because this was the only 2x we did this ride due to looongg lines and disappearing fast passes. :3dglasses Awesome ride and I came in second both times! Not bad against teenage boys!
Later we had an ADR at Primetime and I was really looking forward to this! Our waiter/babysitter/brother was unbelievable! I wish I could remember his name, all I knew is that it stared with an "L" , he was from Morocco and I gave him a huge tip!!:rotfl: My 14 year old nephew after about 2 minutes of being sat down was sent to stand against the wall and then set a neighbor's table! :lmao: The 16 year old was fed his vegetables b/c he had collard greens and wasn't too fond of them ( I love them but I had my own to eat!) and then whisked away to sit at another table because we "gave him away." He was gone for about 30 minutes with a family from Rochester NY! The mashed potatoes and the S'mores dessert here were sooooo yummy!

The rest of the week was spent between the parks and one day at DD so that my niece could be transformed into a princess. princess: She just did the hair and makeup, no dress. We ate at Rainforest Cafe the day we were there. I don't know why we always end up there sometime during my trips, I am not a huge fan of their food but they liked it.

We did rope drop at AK one am and rode EE 5x before 10am.
We also made rope drop only one other time at MK. This will become a standard for me now but it was difficult with the 2 boys getting up. My niece already knew the routine! :wizard:

Other favorites included many, many rides on TOT, TT, EE, Spalsh Mountain, Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain, Turtle Talk with Crush was a first and sooooo funny as was Laugh Floor. Buzz Lightyear twice and I won each time with a score over 100k! The safari twice, saw Cheetahs :thumbsup2 We did everything we wanted to, including It's a Small World! :rolleyes1

We had breakfast twice at Boma's. Yummmmm. Breakfast at Chef Mickey's (we all loved this too:love: ) Dinner at Boma's. I tried to get more reservations when I was there but it was also the week of free dining so I was unable to add anything else on. Ate at Mara a few times too. Lots of popcorn, a few turkey legs too. Ohhhh and we had a Dole Whip float on our last night. OMG!:worship: What have I been missing all this time! Wow it was so good!

Our last night we spent at MK, watched Wishes, my niece and I both had tears in our eyes and on our way out too when we were looking at the Halloween decorations and leaving for our last time that trip.

Well, I am already in the planning stages looking ahead to next October or December :lmao:

Thank you for reading my ramblings and please feel free to ask any questions about the room, etc. :goodvibes

Tracy...thanks for taking the time to write up your report and impressions of your DVC room. It sounds like everything went smoothly from a DVC stand point.

We look forward to a stay at AKV in the not too distant future (which for DVCers would be some time in the next 5 years!). Thanks for letting us know how it went. :)

What a nice vacation you've described! I smiled all the while I read it. Yes, I also love Dole Whip Floats!!!

DH and I plan to get to DHS on a EMD just for TSM, I hope we're as lucky as you were! Since I'll be with DH, I plan on coming in second all of the time! Once, just once, I beat him at Buzz!

Bobbi

Thank you for all or your nice comments! :goodvibes I forgot to mention that the all the CM's I encountered at AKV were really helpful and super nice. I did pay particular attention because of others having had negative interaction. Of course it may have helped that I was constantly walking on air with a grin from ear to ear the whole time! :rotfl: Seriously though, from Mara, The Marketplace, the lobby and any mousekeeping on our floor everyone was great!

And a few other things I loved about the room (besides all of the space!!)
The Lion King tile in the master :lovestruc
The Ostrich Egg lamps in the master so cool!!:rolleyes1
Laundry:laundy:
Stacy and her top 7 :happytv: : This is the only thing I would let them watch on tv:rotfl:

I just got ressie for AKV 1 bedroom for Feb 14-20. Winter Break for us in Connecticut. I can not wait to go. The rooms look really nice and I was glad to get ressie at 6 months out. Do you have any pictures of the room? How was the pool? Thanks Tracy

That's a cool picture. Are you behind a glass wall? It is obvious the two on the left are siblings. The boy on the right appears maybe to have blue eyes also, but the hair makes you not sure. Are they all siblings?

DW and I are both brown hair and brown eyes, and our first child was a blond hair, blue eyed girl. Somebody's recessive genes snuck to the front of the line that day. :)

Thanks for posting-it sounds like a wonderful trip! Isn't it nice sometimes when reality exceeds your expectations? :)

The picture is taken with my waterproof camera that I bought last year for our Disney cruise right in the AKV pool! The two on the right are brothers and my niece is their cousin!! She looks a lot like me but now that you mention that they do look more a like than I thought! :lmao: They all have blue eyes---I have 3 nephews and 2 nieces and they all have blue eyes! The one nephew pictured has darker hair and the girl pictured has an older sister with strawberry blonde hair and a brother with blonde hair.

What a great trip report! I could just feel your excitement!

Great underwater picture too!

Just curious, is your mail person a woman or man?
