Mini-rant: People who dont' "get" DVC!!!!

There are people that do not get DVC.... even my family members.. that I have taken ontrips. I just sum it up, that I know the benefits.

I have stayed in total ---2008 for 10 nights, 2007 for 20 nights, 2006 4 nights... 2005 11 nights.. total ...45 nights.


That total for those vacations would be aout $4,500... if you paid $100 per hotel room....Now add in that I sent my brother and his two kids on a disney cruise.. lets say that cost $1,100.... So that is a total of $6,600

Now I have owned since 2003... five years... if I was to keep doing the same sort of trips for the next 50 years.. As well as assume hotel cost will stay the same $100.... That would mean in total I would spen $66,000 on vacations.

I only paid $22,000 for my 250 SSR points.... This is a savings of $44,000. I know some people are going to tell me I forget the annual mantience... but I point out that I did not account for rising hotel prices(In 2040 the same $100 room will proobably be $700) ...and where can you get a superior hotel room for $100 now? I do not think you can.

I am into DVC for the next 45 years..if not longer. And I will still be taking my thick headed family with me when I can. Because that is what Disney is about.. family.

DVC did not make sense for us, being in AZ and being a DLR family, until our last trip on the Magic and found out that you can convert pts into resort stays (2x Grand Californian, so far!) and use pts to book cruises and the little perks, all those 10%s do add up!
I have friends who teased me about joinging and when I told them what all we get, they were quiet pretty fast and all said how lucky I was!
It's not for everyone, we could have bought alot sooner but it was practicle for us, but maybe someday it will be for the naesayers too!

Also, to the person who mention sending kids on Sr trips and Disneymoons, we set ours up so that our pts will someday be divided between our kids so Mom and Dad will be leaving a bit of Magis with them!
