Mingos in the Watah! What in the Wuhld?

Reelmom, I'm glad Matilda is doing better. Poor baby. That was a nasty gash. I do have to say she is absolutely adorable; she has the cutest little face, even when she is wearing that cone of shame!

I am determined to get to MK for a rope drop on this trip. I think it will be more doable since if just my mom is interested, we can go and let the guys and Kailyn sleep and come meet us whenever. Or if Kailyn wants to come, too, the guys can sleep. :upsidedow Either way, I am really determined to make rope drop!

Oh poor Matilda! I hope she's better soon!

Wow that crowd at rope drop was big! But then you must have been at the front of the pack to get some empty-looking shots!

Yay for Bella giving her paci away. My older DD had one and when she was almost two she fell asleep on the floor one night without it and that was it. We told her she must not need it and she never did. My younger DD is a thumb girl. Still is a bit but mostly was done when she was around 6! I thought she'd never quit!

Sorry to hijack your thread with another picture of Matilda but I thought this one was too cute. When the doctor removed her drains, he did not sew up the area. He said it will heal on its own. Well, she has 2 small holes that keep bleeding when she moves around. So I put a Mickey Mouse band-aid on her. :rotfl: I hope it won't hurt her when it comes off but I figured since her hair was shaved, it would be ok. She doesn't seem bothered by it and she has not tried to take it off. She is back to herself today. She has been running and playing. It is amazing.

Oh my gosh, that's a big tour group! They have their flags and everything. :goodvibes

I love how happy all of the cast members are in the morning while greeting people. Gets you ready for a magical day! Ahhh, I recognize a cast member in your picture at city hall!!! The guy on the very right, his name is Trent. He was our tour guide on the "Marceline to the Magic Kingdom" tour. He was fantastic. I hope I see him in 2 weeks! I wonder if he'll remember us. :goodvibes

Also, I'm glad you survived your evaluation. :thumbsup2

Wow! I feel like a real mean mom. I guess I put a stop to the paci kinda early!

My daughter had a soother/paci and my son had his thumb. :thumbsup2

When DD was about 14 months old, I stopped letting her have her soother during the day. I couldn't stand the sound of her talking with it in her mouth. :scared1: She had a pretty decent vocabulary by then and she talked a lot.

She still had it at night and for her naps but when she was 18 months I took it away altogether. I don't remember crying after the first night and it was pretty light. We got her a special stuffy to "replace" her soother.

DS was harder to break because I couldn't take away his thumb. :rotfl2: He only sucked it at night really...not too much during the day at any point in his life. He tried stopping altogether when he was three after a visit to the dentist but I guess it "crept" into his mouth when he was sleeping when he had no conscious control.

In the end, when he was four we began putting a mitten on his hand so he didn't suck on it in his sleep. After two weeks...that was the end, the habit had been broken.

Thankfully, they haven't shown any negative effects from having such a meanie for a mom. Hopefully they aren't holding a secret grudge! LOL

Reelmom-So glad Matilda is better. The mickey band aid is cute!

Love the rope drop pics. I cannot believe the crowds!

Anita- I feel like I work for Disney too.:rotfl:

I just had an interesting night. Jason and I went to the UT football game. We have season tickets and usually a Mom and her teenage daughter sit in front of us. Tonight a very drunk guy in his 20s would not leave the girl alone. She is very shy as well as her mom. Well, I had enough of it and I intervened and told the guys' friends to take him away or we were getting security. Needless to say, they did not like me, but someone had to do something. I just wanted to watch football!:lmao:

Oh I wish I were in the Magic Kingdom this weekend! That waffle looked pretty good too! I'm glad that Bella's interactions with the Paci Fairy were successful, and that all of your evaluations are done for now and you are still employed!:goodvibes

ReelMom - I'm so glad to hear that Matilda is healing well. She and I have matching band-aids (however, mine is on my foot...new shoes:headache:) Poor little thing! I hope she continues to do well.

Yay!!! That's great news that your evaluation went well! :cool1:

I'm glad that Bella wasn't TOO upset about the Paci Fairy's arrival!

What a great idea to have breakfast while waiting for Rope Drop! I love looking at the murals in the castle, they're so gorgeous!

Nice start to the day; it didn't look too crowded in Fantasyland.

Your second last picture made me think of AK when the EE construction was going on, except this construction was quite as tall.

Fantasyland is not bad for the first hour. We are usually leaving as the crowd begins to come in.

I look forward to taking thousands of new photos with the opening of the new Fantasyland stuff! :woohoo:

I love the picture with Chip and Dale with the castle behind them. A very creative shot. Also the picture with the family walking towards Pinnochio is adorable. The little girl is grinning ear to ear and it is just precious. You can really see the excitement in her face.

Since I have taken so many of the same pictures again and again, I am always on the lookout for different angles or different pictures to take.

I hope Bella will be excited about meeting characters in December.

I can't believe I haven't been on here since Monday morning! What a crazy week! Anyway, I am so glad your observation went well, MeMom -- it sounds like a great lesson.

Reelmom, so glad Matilda is doing better -- poor puppy -- I don't blame her for not going near that side of the yard. Our dogs are part of our family, too, so I can completely understand your anguish!

MeMom, love mornings full of Pop breakfasts and MK fun! Not to mention, I loved all the Trunk or Treat pics!

So glad you could check in. The weekdays are pretty crazy, aren't they? I am so happy that this is the first weekend since school has started (when we got all of the new teacher evaluation information, etc.) that I have bee stress-free, and it has felt so good! :dance3: I watched a movie and did household chores yesterday, and I did not do any school work. :thumbsup2

MeMom! What a great idea that Trunk or Treat! So fun!! And I spied those sprinkles when we were at WOD, and I ALMOST bought some!!!! I should have!!! I need to get me some more for Christmas! I am almost out!! BUT not out enough that I won't use them... I have been known to do that... :rolleyes1

I am slowly reading along, you know!!! Honestly, I don't know where the month of October went!!!!

Mickey sprinkles are a fun souvenir to bring back for ourselves and for little kids. I usually get 2-3 bottles of them - 1 for here at my house and 2 to have in case I want to give someone else a Disney smile at some point.

October was short in some ways and long in others. I think November is going to speed by. We have only 12 school days left until Thanksgiving break, so that makes it very nice!

Great idea to have breakfast at rope drop! Love the almost-empty park pics.

Who were all those people in yellow shirts?

I have to comment on the paci. Katie had hers until she was almost 3 and would not let go until we mailed it to Mickey Mouse. Then she was done! Like magic!

Tour groups come out in huge numbers in the summer, so you will see large groups of colored shirts following leaders who carry small flags.

One of Drew's friends said he and his twin brother left their pacis with Mickey, too, when they were about three.

As for breakfast at rope drop, it makes the waiting easier on the girls. By the time they finish their Mickey waffle, the wait is not so long. :)

Memom- I am glad that your scores allowed you to celebrate with ice cream--I'm sure they were still too low...

Thanks for the walk into MK! I am very excited for the new Fantasyland, but the old one is quite magical. I wonder if the CMs welcoming everyone each morning get chills...I know I would. (Heck, I might get all teary eyed too...)

I always love seeing pics of Pop - I think they have an awesome gift shop. I am excited to check it out in person.

Reelmom- poor Matilda. I hope she recovers quickly.

The tougher school gets, the more appealing a Disney cast member job sounds. I can wave with the best of them!

Yes, Everything Pop is a good gift shop. It has clothes, art supplies, jewelry, pins, kitchen items, candy, purses, toys, and items you may have forgotten or unexpectedly need. It opens early, too, so for me, that is nice. After a morning walk, I usually end up in the gift shop for some picture-taking beofre it gets full of people.

MweMom I am so happy your evaluation went well. I know that is a big weight off you. Enjoy a relaxing weekend!

Reelmom- I hope matilda feels better soon. poor puppy!

It is like I have taken a very heavy backpack off. It's funny how mental things like that really do feel like they weigh on you physically, as well. Yesterday was so nice, because I wasn't carrying around what I still needed to get done in the back of my mind all day. I did normal chores and then thought about nothing related to school.

Congrats on your evaluation!

Aw, I love all the Magic Kingdom pictures. Why can't I be there right now? Life's just not fair. :rotfl: Bella is seriously precious! She always looks so happy.
I wonder where you went next? :)

When you need a Disney fix, youtube will do the job. You can see every park, parades, fireworks, etc. :wizard:

Hopefully, I can put up a few more pictures today - maybe even this morning when I finish responses, if my eyes aren't crossing.

My oldest, Colson, is 6, and Grant is 5 months :lovestruc

A zoo meeting in May sounds perfect! And Memom, making sure our paths cross in WDW sounds ever better!!:cloud9:

We'll put Memphis on our May calendar and hope the weather and schedules cooperate. Anyone else close will be welcomed to come, as well. Memphis has a very nice zoo!

My DS had a paci- my oldest DD had her fingers.

I discussed with DS- I know I discussed with a 3 year old - when he was ready to be a big boy the paci would need to go. I too promised a prize. I planned over either a weekend or holiday for the same reason and the first night was rough. We survived and the prize was given.

The next night was easy but DS woke up and wanted another prize. :lmao:
I had to be the bad guy and tell the prize was only a one time deal and he was a big boy now so as a big boy he would be allowed to do big boy things. :rotfl:

Congrats to Bella for being a big girl and giving those pacis away.

Drew was a thumbsucker, too. He had a little knot on his thumb where he sucked it all the time. He just outgrew it naturally. I don't remember ever having to 'fight' with him over not doing it. I have a second-grader who sucks his thumb almost all day. I am constantly telling him to stop, but it is a serious addiction for him!

What a great start to an MK morning!!!!!

Someday I want to say I have worked for Disney for 10 years!! I think when I'm ready to retire I'm heading back to Florida to live and work!!!!

Your girls are just so precious!! YAY for Fantasyland rides!!!

If I could get all of my family down there, I think I would be quite happy working for WDW, too. I would ideally like to be in Animal Kingdom in the education department.

I didn't get to see my babies this weekend. They went to the fall festival fundraiser at Brooklynn's school and then to eat with friends last night. They had a fun day, and I was happy to get pictures of the sassy girls with the spray colored hair for Brooklynn and painted nails for Bella.

Good news that you did well on your second observation. The lesson sounds like a fun activity.

The pictures of MK were wonderful. I love the empty streets as you first walk into the park at rope drop.

I want a special pass to get into the park even before rope drop just to take pictures for a few minutes. We have done the early Crystal Palace reservation before, but I can't linger to take pictures when we are on our way to that, of course.

The students enjoyed getting to wear all the hats and accessories. Friday, they enjoyed having three firemen and a fire truck come, too! :thumbsup2

I feel like I work for Disney. I don't get paid by them, I get paid "for" them!

I think that is the theme around here. I need a whole 'nuther job just for Disney.

Glad you did good on your eval.:thumbsup2

Poor Matilda. She had quite the gash on her back. Glad to hear she is doing better.:)

Great early morning MK pics!!

Thanks. I am very glad that I have a job these days, although things are getting shakier and shakier in our system.

I would be happy to be lining up for rope drop this morning.

Reelmom, I'm glad Matilda is doing better. Poor baby. That was a nasty gash. I do have to say she is absolutely adorable; she has the cutest little face, even when she is wearing that cone of shame!

Or if Kailyn wants to come, too, the guys can sleep. :upsidedow Either way, I am really determined to make rope drop!

You need to see the opening show, and you can enjoy a crowd-free Magic Kingdom. Even though there were a lot of people standing outside, they were all going to different places when they got inside, so it wasn't bad at all - at least for a couple of hours.

It seems like a lot of people race to Space Mountain first thing in the morning. Fantasyland is really not bad at all for the first little while. I guess most people with little kids take a little more time to arrive in the mornings. It gets crowded after the first hour or so, though, and then stays that way all day.

I'm up for hints on how to get a seven year old to quit. He thinks he's such a tough guy, and he is so 'worldly', but then he sucks his thumb almost all the time. :sad2:

Sorry to hijack your thread with another picture of Matilda but I thought this one was too cute. When the doctor removed her drains, he did not sew up the area. He said it will heal on its own. Hijack away. We are all happy to hear of her progress. :thumbsup2

I hope Jill and I can do a Magic Kingdom tour someday. We would both really enjoy that!

I bet if you go talk to Trent, he will remember you. ::yes:: I don't hear of too many Trents. My Trent was the only one in his school in any grade pre-school through 12th grade.

Wow! I feel like a real mean mom. I guess I put a stop to the paci kinda early!

Same with Bella - she was talking like a big girl, but had to pull the paci out before we would listen to her. It was time for it to go. She was very attached to it, though, and I thought it would take more than just a night or two of screaming. Luckily for Jill, it was smooth sailing.

Reelmom-So glad Matilda is better. The mickey band aid is cute!

You get 'em, Doc! That behavior is not acceptable. Their 'good time' is not to be had at the expense of some sweet girl.

By the way, do you use Mickey bandaids in your office?

Oh I wish I were in the Magic Kingdom this weekend! That waffle looked pretty good too! I'm glad that Bella's interactions with the Paci Fairy were successful, and that all of your evaluations are done for now and you are still employed!:goodvibes

Yay!!! That's great news that your evaluation went well! :cool1:

I'm glad that Bella wasn't TOO upset about the Paci Fairy's arrival!

What a great idea to have breakfast while waiting for Rope Drop! I love looking at the murals in the castle, they're so gorgeous!

I think they should sell mosaic craft kits of those murals. I would definitely buy one!

::yes::

I need a like button for this post like the one Facebook. :lmao:

If it weren't for Disney World and Disney things, I might have a nicely padded savings account. :upsidedow

I asked him in October, actually, and he said he has been there ten years.

He always makes me smile when I seem him there. :goodvibes Same with the lady who dances in Main Street, she is just awesome and the waiter I like at Brown Derby. Yeah....I go to Disney a lot.

Good morning! Yes, I had drama last night. I feel like I did my duty to help a fellow human being. He actually moved away at halftime and the teenage girl was talking about how uncomfortable she felt. He was hugging her and touching her constantly! Not cool. When he came back and started again, I had enough.
I hope the Poly beach is available! Like I posted on Pat's TR, the GF does not have any comfortable places to view the fireworks. We will just have to see how things go.
No, I do not have Mickey band aids in my office. Just plain ones.:sad2:

Hey everyone! I am new here! Anita, Marc, and I use to teach together and she recomended I try this out. We are planning our daughters 1st trip to Disney World. It is for her 1st birthday in Feb!! My family has been multiply times but never with an infant. I am needing some pointers! Have a great day!

Good for you. I know she and her mother appreciated it.

No Mickey bandaids? And you call yourself a doctor. :sad2:

Hope you have had a pretty fabulous weekend with your guys. Have a good week ahead!

Any friend of theirs is always welcome here. I hope they warned you that we get a little silly sometimes, though. :rolleyes1

You can go back to previous trip reports to see lots of pictures of us traveling with babies. Brooklynn was less than a year old on her first trip, and Bella was only about 3 1/2 months old on her first trip. :)

We were just about to go in here when we left you last.

I think some sunshine is about to make its way into Eeyore's gloomy place. ;)

DisneySummer20112ndset834.jpg

Can't play in here now, but maybe they'll get the safety regulations straightened out one of these days. It does look like it might be able to cause some fractured ankles, to be honest, although I know kids would love all the bouncing.

Anyone up for a spin, spin, spin, spin, spin......?

DisneySummer20112ndset848.jpg

See anyone familiar riding right now?

After the ride, we stopped for autographs.

Bella holds the magic book.

She hands Rabbit the book,

but keeps a safe distance.

Brooklynn looks hot. She has since gotten her hair cut to more of a shoulder length.

Petite blonde talking to petite blond.
Bella was okay with that part.

DisneySummer20112ndset860.jpg

In the end - no Bella.

DisneySummer20112ndset861.jpg

We stopped here for lemonade slushies. The girls love them, and apparently the skywriter does, too. ;) Brooklynn got one here on the October trip.

DisneySummer20112ndset862.jpg

I went in here for some ice water.

Can you hear the drumming?

I bet if you go talk to Trent, he will remember you. ::yes:: I don't hear of too many Trents. My Trent was the only one in his school in any grade pre-school through 12th grade.

Have you gone on any Disney tours before? They're really fun and make you appreciate the parks more! :goodvibes I wish I could do more, but sadly you have to be 16 for most.

It wouldn't hurt to check! ::yes:: That's funny, my experience was completely different in Pre-K to 8. We would have Stephanie C, Stephanie D, etc.
