Mingos in the Watah! What in the Wuhld?

It was a memorable evening. :)

Hooray for 17 days!!! What are your exact dates?

Oct 6th-11th. I turn 40 on the 11th so I couldn't imagine being anywhere but Disney for this milestone! :cloud9: Going to breakfast at Boma that morning, explore the AKL and get some zebra domes! Then some shopping at DTD before heading home.

Yeah, Holiday Inn would not be as cool, would it?
Of course, if they just put the initials, their food could talk to you. HI :wave2:

You never fail to make me smile! :goodvibes This reminds me of the talking muffin joke. Not sure if you've ever heard that one but it makes me laugh every time.

The dinner at Ohana looks amazing! :thumbsup2 You sat at the same table we did when we went there for breakfast. Chad took my picture in front of that same window to get the castle behind me! :goodvibes Such sweet memories!

Only 6 more days until I return for my trip!!:cool1::banana:

I just posted the link on my FB page and even my husband is voting from every possible computer he can at work too! :flower3: I have been putting it on my Twitter feed often also. I'm trying my hardest for you!!:cheer2:

I voted earlier in the week from my iPod, shared the link on my FB and Twitter. For some reason though, it wouldn't let my boyfriend vote from the desktop, I'm not sure why. I did get one of my close twitter friends to vote too. She hopes you win.

I've only done Ohana for breakfast, I would LOVE to do it for dinner one day.

Oh, MeMom question for you - when do you leave for your October trip. My dad was wondering. I know you told me but can't remember where or where I made a note of it.

Being in Disney World on your birthday is the best! :woohoo:
Sounds like a wonderful last day. So sorry we won't overlap for a meet.

Life has enough junk and sadness and depression in it, so we have to put humor and fun into it where we can. :goodvibes

I'm so excited for everyone who is going for the 40th anniversary! I can't wait to see your pictures. They will be having a few special shows and guests that you guys will hopefully get to see. Have a great time!

We'll just keep swimming, swimming, swimming. We'll celebrate our classroom anyway with some yummy popsicles, and I will buy my little sweeties some new books myself. :goodvibes

Thanks for all of your help, guys! :disrocks:

Ohana is great for both breakfast and supper. You certainly don't go hungry.

I love all your early morning pictures at Pop. I always seem to be able to do the late night rounds but never the early morning.

mmmmmm...I love Ohana. It is sooooo delicious!

I love your pictures of Pop. I cannot wait to be there (for the first time) in just 19 days. Pop should thank you and your pictures for that! :thumbsup2

Memom, I voted for you. Whether you win or not, I would like to send you some books for your classroom. I will send you a message.

Oh, MeMom question for you - when do you leave for your October trip. My dad was wondering. I know you told me but can't remember where or where I made a note of it.

We will be over to see Ed on Saturday, the 16th, around lunchtime. I will text with him to see when he gets a break, and maybe he can meet us outside TSMM. The only things we will do there are Toy Story (if he can get us in), Little Mermaid, Playhouse Disney, Beauty and the Beast, and maybe Star Tours. We're going back to the room after that to get ready to go over to Ft. Wilderness for the campfire that evening.

I hope they open the bridge between Pop and AoA. I will take some morning walks over that way, too.

Tell Pop to give me a free night for the referral. :woohoo:

As I told you in the PM, if you can get books, puzzles, and games for a few quarters at a yard sale, we'll sure take them. :)

Mickey looks excited to start another Disney day!

We will see you in just a minute. We turned down Family of the Day at The Seas to have an awesome picture with you and your friends.

DisneySummer20112ndset509.jpg

That would have been the way it played out...
except for another guy was one step ahead of us. I remember watching as he gained that half step advantage and 'cut' Jill. I don't remember anything about who was in his family. I just remember they were standing in our spot taking pictures with all five characters.

We were second.

Jill came up with the idea of giving Bella an autograph book in hopes that she would follow Brooklynn and get a little closer to the characters.

Look at what happened!

DisneySummer20112ndset510.jpg

DisneySummer20112ndset511.jpg

Look at Bella's face. That is her response to the 'Way to go, Bella!' that we were all giving her.

DisneySummer20112ndset512.jpg

DisneySummer20112ndset513.jpg

She handed Pluto the book and stepped back to a safe distance while he signed.

DisneySummer20112ndset514.jpg

She was so proud of that book!

DisneySummer20112ndset515.jpg

DisneySummer20112ndset516.jpg

Look at Little Miss Character Expert now, waiting with her book.

DisneySummer20112ndset518.jpg

DisneySummer20112ndset519.jpg

At every station, Jill and I were cheering Bella on, and for whatever reason, this was the morning she decided to buy into our insanity and go with what we were telling her.

DisneySummer20112ndset521.jpg

DisneySummer20112ndset522.jpg

Does she look proud, or what???

DisneySummer20112ndset523.jpg

And as usual, Brooklynn sets the great example in how to meet the characters. She does exactly what she knows to do.

Jill and I had tears in our eyes at the excitement of Bella finally cooperating and getting some good character pictures, so that joy was the consolation prize for giving up the opportunity at The Seas.

Since we were on a roll, we decided to go for more.

DisneySummer20112ndset527.jpg

Brooklynn's pose (above) says 'What's the big deal, Bella? I've been doing this since I could barely walk!'

DisneySummer20112ndset528.jpg

DisneySummer20112ndset530.jpg

Oh, to be standing here this morning!

DisneySummer20112ndset531.jpg

Yay!! Go Bella!!!!

That is sucks that you didn't get to get that picture with all the characters but you won a better prize with those pictures of the girls! :goodvibes

The character pictures are wonderful. I know you are so proud of Miss Bella, finally stepping up. I love her little smile as if she just figured out a secret. Then Brooklynn is such a patient big sister with her.:goodvibes

Good morning! Loved waking up to those character spot pictures. Brought a smile to my face, just as they did this summer on FB. Bella is just so tickled with herself and Brooklynn is as cute and helpful as ever.:goodvibes

I am glad your observation is over and went well. We have a few more weeks before that begins at our school. We are getting ready to do our reading level tests...never a favorite time for me...keeping 20 busy while you test sight words and do a running record on 1. But, it will get done and then we can get into groups and get some work done.

In good news I finally got up the nerve to talk to my principal about taking the days off in October (she's new so I wasn't sure how she'd feel about it). While I knew she couldn't deny me the leave, I didn't want it to be a bad "start" for us. She was fine with it, actually joking with me that it's not fair that I am going to Disney and she's never been. That was a huge weight off my shoulders and now that the leave is submitted and approved I feel sooooo excited about the trip. We've only got 27 more days so I know that will fly by!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!:goodvibes

Who would have thought that those books that we've seen the kids carrying around for years would have been the key to Bella and the characters? Great thought Jill! Just what she needed to get her focus off of the character and on the autograph and book! I love her expressions! She is such a big girl!!!:cutie:

I love all the updates. July 4th at the Poly including an Ohana dinner is a dream. Ohana is now a must do for us after finally eating there our last trip. We are booked again for our Feb trip. The picture of John behind the kabob looks like my DH. He's a fan of anything meat:thumbsup2

I'm late, but I just posted the Dis Radio contenst to my facebook. I want you to win sooooo bad. I'm going to tag it to a friend of mine's wall who has a billion friends on facebook, too:cool1:

Way to to g Bella !!! :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

I am so glad so was in the mood to go along that morning. It is so great when something just clicks. Definitely tear worthy.

Way to go Bella! :banana::banana::banana::banana:

She just looks sooooo proud of herself in those pictures. That's just absolutely priceless.

We were ecstatic that Bella did so well. That group picture would have been awesome, of course, but we'll try again another time.

The character pictures are wonderful. I know you are so proud of Miss Bella, finally stepping up. I love her little smile as if she just figured out a secret. Then Brooklynn is such a patient big sister with her.

She just grinned the whole time, and Brooklynn thought it was hilarious that we were being so silly!

It would sure help us do Running Records if they would provide another adult to monitor the other students while we worked on-on-one. ::yes:: We do grade level grouping - three groups each. I have two groups of Level 22 and one group of Level 24.

So good to hear that your principal was cool with you being out. :wizard:

Way to go Bella!!!! :yay::yay: Brooklynn looks so proud of her too!! The book looks like it was a great idea!

Being in control of the book took her focus off of her fears for a few minutes, and then she rolled along with our cheering antics. :cheer2:

Love, love, love the pictures with the characters. Brooklynn and Bella remind me so much of my Erin and Ava.

There's nothing more precious than a bunch of happy little DIS kids.

It gave her some magical power, didn't it? ;)

By the way, you are the DIStown contestant for next year's classroom race. We'll all start gathering people to vote now to get ready for a big win! :woohoo:

We're way down now, but it was a fun week watching the leades go back and forth. My students really enjoyed it, so it was worth doing. Next year, Wigd has to enter, and we'll all support her! :dance3:

I can't say enough good about 'Ohana. We are looking forward to our NYE dinner there.

Way to to g Bella !!!

I bet the Photopass people thought we were a little .

Way to go Bella!
She just looks sooooo proud of herself in those pictures. That's just absolutely priceless.

I laughed when I saw the pictures, because I recalled how much fun those few moments were.

Oooooo.... PINS! Heck with the online Disney store, I'm reading MeMom's TR! I should start saving these pictures to remember what to buy next time in Disney... MR. TOAD!!! (:

No, I will not share. It is all mine!
DisneySummer20112ndset446.jpg

C'MON!

Ice cream and Mickey sprinkles.
DisneySummer20112ndset447.jpg

She shares, right? ;)

You do remember that Brooklynn does not like loud noises, right?
DisneySummer20112ndset464.jpg

Awwwww... Poor Brooklynn...

Those Fireworks are so cool and that's awesome the EWP goes all Patriotic to go along with the fireworks. Disney always does it right (:

This kind CM offered for us to be the Family of the Day at The Seas, which we would have glady accepted 99% of the days of the year, but Jill had her mind set on trying to be the first one in for the group picture at Character Spot. Since we were right up at the rope, she thought we had a pretty good chance, so hesitantly (painfully, even) she turned her down.

DisneySummer20112ndset496.jpg

Darn! Well always next time :thumbsup2

Yay Bella!! That's awesome you got her to finally get some character picture. Yeah, totally worth not going to the Seas to be family of the day (:
