Mingos in the Watah! What in the Wuhld?

Hey MeMom! I voted in the classroom contest and will get Chris to vote later! You're wayyyyy in the lead, I hope you win! What do you win if you come in first?

Well, I can't spend too much time on the DIS right now, I have to get working on lesson plans. Just downloaded Microsoft Office on my new laptop...$130 later...:headache: Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

The Classroom Contest is up, so if you can throw a vote my way, my kids would very much enjoy the new Disney books for the classroom.

http://www.wdwradio.com/2011/09/my-classroom-went-disney-vote-now/

Tell your friends, too, if you will. Thanks for the help. :goodvibes

I voted for you and like a minute after I voted, it went from 3 to 15 votes. Yeah, you are going to win. And when I saw the classroom pictures I was like "*gasp* Someone stole MeMom's classroom ideas!" Then I remembered you wouldn't go by MeMom there. I started laughing then I voted :lmao:

I voted! You were winning by a landslide still a few minutes ago! :)

Brooklynn is definitely a dedicated player! :rotfl: I love her fingers in her ears! And Bella certainly looks like a sweet little ballerina! :goodvibes:

Now I'm wishing I had picked up that turtle for you while we were down at Vero LOL!! Even the plastic replica would have worked...very life like!!! Sorry no turtles here or I would send one your way!!

Love your shopping pics! I totally want to find that Living with the Land pic...LOVE IT!!!! What a great pin!!!

Hope you have a great weekend!! I'm up at the school now and as you can see not being the most productive of teachers at the moment LOL!

That's something I can get when we are over there next summer.

The plastic one, not a real one. :)

I said I wasn't going to work on school stuff this weekend, but I lied.

Oh, if we were closer I would so ask Charles's aunt if you could borrow her turtle!

Wonderful AK pictures, as usual. I can't wait to be back! I have a countdown app on my phone and we're at 109 days. The app lets you use one of your own pictures as a background for the countdown, so I have the red yo-yo at Pop at nighttime. Also, my mom officially our books at Pop yesterday! We have connecting rooms in preferred, and our flight was booked a while ago, so now it all feels so much more real!

Yay for being booked!!! :hippie:
You will soon be doing the double digit dance! :cool1:

Thanks for taking us to AK this morning! I just love that place!!

I hope everyone has a great Saturday! I have chili on the stove, cornbread in the oven & I'm getting ready to watch some football! A pretty nice Fall day I think.

Sounds like a perfect fall day. Football has been on in this house, too. Trent went out with friends to watch the Florida-Tennessee game, and Drew was gone to Louisville, so the house was quiet yesterday. That was good, because I needed to concentrate on school stuff.

So cute! If they still have this next month it may be coming home with me for Baylee

Even though I'm not a coffee drinker I really want one of those safari Mickey mugs. Maybe I should get one anyway, you know..........as a gift.........for Don.......

Reading your TRs sure is hard on my pocketbook

Why do I think you are going to spoil that little girl?

I think you need to get one of those mugs.....

for Don, of course. :thumbsup2

You slept IN til 4:56??? That is definitely crazy business!!

I am with Michelle, I add a few items to my souvenir list every time I stop by here. But I love the shopping pictures!! There is nothing like Disney shopping!

I love to take shopping pictures, so it works nicely. :goodvibes

I love that AK print with the boat and EE. Very nice!

Can't wait for your evening at the Poly. I wish every night was a Poly night.

A good meal at 'Ohana and an evening on the beach with some amazing fireworks - all coming up in the next few days. :)

You know, I never really take the time to look at all the details in the shops, like the ceilings. I'm definitely going to have to remember to do that on my upcoming trip.

I think I'm going to call these segments "Virtual Shopping with MeMom". Such a great way to get my WDW fix.

I love the details that are everywhere. Even things like doorknobs are sometimes so themed. You really are better off being alone to be able to notice these things. When others are with me, I'm talking to or focusing on them.

I could have a 30 minute Mickey home shopping show.

You don't have to wait til F&W for the mingo with Mickey ears. I saw it in many places... of course, the only one I can remember at the moment is by the bathrooms by Soarin. I really wanted to get it, but my DH hates when I add things like that outside because they fade so quick. Hmmmm... maybe I should add it to a plant inside instead? Also, I think I HAVE to have the wood chimes with the turtle on top! I didn't get to shop much in AK... Darn. Thanks for the great shopping pictures so I get to see all I missed!

Okay, I thought they were only out at F&G. I will look in October. I definitely want mine for inside - downstairs in my OKW den. How much are they? I know I have looked at the prices before, but I have forgotten.

I voted! You're in the lead right now :thumbsup2

I have been missing a lot lately, but I made it back in time to vote for you Memom. I hope you win! :cheer2:

Just voted. As of 9:05 pm, you have 52% of the votes.

Brook posted this link on FB. I voted off of that. Good Luck to you! Your running away with it right now. Hopefully it stays that way. :thumbsup2

I voted for you and tried to get DH to vote for you on his computer, but for some reason when it came up on his, it only showed the results so far and didn't give the option to vote. :confused3 Sorry! We tried to get two votes in. I even tried it from DD's computer and it did the same thing??? It's like it knew we were in the same household! :rotfl: Hmmmm, wonder if I can vote form my phone! ;)

I voted, yours was the best, it was easy to pick you!!!

I voted!! You're in the lead!! Woo hoo!! :woohoo:

I voted for you Memom. I also posted it on my facebook. I hope you win (i'm sure you will), you and the kids really do deserve the books.

Thanks, everyone! Trent was shocked that I did this. He said it wasn't like me to be in a competition. He's right. I am doing it for the kids for the books, yet I am feeling guilty right now that I might keep other kids from getting the books. Maybe I should have just done a 'Book Beg' for yard sale books instead.

First you deny then you mention Lou....

Tomorrow I am in single digits.

Ok you caught me this time.

You could always climb over the rail to get a better look.

Yes until a guy comes up and tries to get in with the croc.

You have made me laugh on a cold day and a bit of a stressful day. I was put at another aquatic facility in our County to work the weekend and this facility just got done ( well not yet) witha major renovations. Needless to say it was not all done in time to open and we were left with getting enough up to operate somewhat. I can laugh about it now and having gone through construction before I expected it. We had water. We had lights. everything else was gravy. We got hot water back by noon and the data and cable guy have both been by to get other things working right. Tomorrow will be a bit better.

I will be hanging out with Lou as much as I can that weekend.

Sorry you have had stress. Seems likes there has been a lot of that lately, and a lot of sadness in loss and other sad events. I am glad we can come here and be fun and silly sometimes. :)

Well, it seems I am seeing sea turtles everywhere today There's a small bag of them at the Dollar Tree, then I saw a cute plastic/rubber one at Walgreen's. If I had time I would send you some

You have come through yet again! I went to the Dollar Tree after church, and they had sea turtles! :woohoo: They were red, purple, yellow, and orange, however, so I got some green spray paint and turned them into something a little more believable.

Caught up!

 the giraffe pics! You got some REALLY good ones!!!
Oh my...those CUPCAKES!!

It really saddens me and upsets me all that teachers have to go through these days...for the teachers and for the students. My bestfriend is a 2nd grade teacher in a private school here and last week we were talking about new things she has to do this year like graph answers and all this and I was telling her how it sounded an awful lot like what my Disney friends have been talking about. I always say if I go back to teaching I will be an aide, possibly in a preschool.

Can't wait to hear about the POLY!!!!

I'm thinking an aide in a pre-school sounds like a very good job! :thumbsup2

We have had good luck with seeing giraffes up close.

I always find things that I want to buy in your shopping pics! I must not spend enough time shopping at Disney, which is probably a good thing for my wallet!.

I voted, and I posted your link on my FB page! We will do our best to make sure you win!

Yes, shop with your family, so you won't be able to really focus, or shop with your camera. Both of those are pretty safe. Shopping alone, you can find too much that you want.

Good luck, MeMom! You know I voted.

Love those Mickey breakfast pajama pants -- I wonder if Charles would wear them.

Charles should have those sleep pants for Christmas. ::yes::

Please don't feel guilty about entering the contest. Your children deserve it just as much as any children, maybe even a little more.

I LOVE THESE GIRLS!

Great pics Jill!

Brooklynn is too funny!! At least she stayed focused on the task at hand while the train was going by!

Oh.my.goodness. that has GOT to be the cutest ballerina I have ever seen!!!

Brooklynn cannot stand loud noises. Jill was telling me about her doing that over the phone, and I was cracking up!

Bella is pretty darn adorable, isn't she? :cutie:

I'm wearing these breakfast pants right now!!!

Voted for your classroom! I love your theme - I hope you win!!

Bella is such an adorable ballerina!!

Fun! Breakfast made happier. :thumbsup2

Bella loves her class. She loved flipping and flopping at gymnastics, too, but Jill changed Brooklynn's gymnastics to something closer to home, and they don't have classes for Bella's age. She'll do that again in the future, I'm sure.

Another vote here and also put on my FB page.
Great pictures, Jill! The girls are beautiful, as always. Chuckling at the one of Bella sleeping waiting for the kangaroo procedure. Brooklynn looks like quite the soccer star! You captured some great gorilla expressions as well.

Soccer is a really good game for kids.

The gorillas are fun to watch. I am always glad when they are actively eating and moving around.

Bella's size reminds me of a quote Jamie put on her facebook not long ago...

"And though she be but little, she is fierce." -Shakespeare

Gotta watch those little guys

She is a mess, that little thing! She has such a sweet personality to go along with that cute face.

I voted for your classroom MeMom!

What a cute little ballerina Bella makes. And go Brooklyn for running through even though the train came.

Brooklynn is getting the hang of soccer this year, so maybe that will be something she will continue to pursue.

Memom, i just voted for you and you were in the lead Thankyou for all the lovely AK pictures. Jill's pictures were so sweet. Bellas face when watching the show- so deep in concentration . I especially love the pictures of Brooklynn and Bella doing their after school activities, Bella is so cute in her little dance costume. Brooklynn looks very grown up in her soccer kit. Thanks for sharing them with us.

They are both growing up. Brooklynn is so fun to converse with these days. Her thought processes are really developing, and she's so much fun to watch.

Love all of the pictures...how cute that the baby is hanging onto mamma!

Great job on the soccer Brooklyn! And Bella is precious!

You could see the baby so much better in Jill's picture. That is so cute!

I voted in the classroom contest! I hope you win!

Oh my gosh, Jake and the Neverland Pirates are at the Playhouse Disney show now?!?! Little Guy loves that show!

Looks like Brookie is having fun with soccer!

Oh my goodness, Bella is the cutest ballerina E.V.E.R.!!!

I look forward to watching two little dance girls in Christmas shows this year.

The new Jake & Pirates section of the show was cute. Little Guy would have liked it.

I voted and I posted the link on FB.I have already had several people vote! Yay! I love the gorilla pics. Brooklynn is too cute holding her ears and Bella is the sweetest ballerina ever!

They are some crazy little girls, but they are too much fun to be around!

-Love the girls shirts! The July 4th stuff is so cute!
-The girls with the elephants is adorable!
-Bella is so sweet when she's sleeping
-Awwww.....teeny tiny ballerina Bella! That is just too cute!
-Hi Brooklynn!!!!
Oh! And I made sure to vote for Memom's classroom! Everyone else should too!

More 4th of July pictures coming this week, but probably not many until after Wednesday's observation is over.

Thanks for the vote. :)

How exciting to see your classroom pictures on WDW Radio! I voted for you, of course, and I posted it on my Facebook account for all of my friends to vote as well. I hope your kiddies get all the educational goodies!

I had thought about entering and then didn't, because I don't really like contests of any kind. Then I took the pictures and just had them sitting on the camera. I still wasn't going to do it, but I kept thinking about letting my students open a big box of new books. When you came out of nowhere to tell me I should enter, I took that as my sign and took the plunge! We'll see what happens. :goodvibes

Hey MeMom! I voted in the classroom contest and will get Chris to vote later! You're wayyyyy in the lead, I hope you win! What do you win if you come in first?

Lesson plans on the weekend? Surely not! :goodvibes

I think we would get a box of books for our classroom. I have no idea about any other part of it.

I voted! You were winning by a landslide still a few minutes ago! :)

Brooklynn is definitely a dedicated player! :rotfl: I love her fingers in her ears! And Bella certainly looks like a sweet little ballerina! :goodvibes:

See, that's why I can't do contests. Now I want to go vote for everyone else!

That is so Brooklynn. She puts her hands over her ears during Disney parades, too. :upsidedow

Please don't feel guilty about entering the contest. Your children deserve it just as much as any children, maybe even a little more.

They woud love it, of course, but I know other kids would, too. I think everyone should win the same prize. As you can tell, I'm not good at this kind of thing.

Thanks, everyone! Trent was shocked that I did this. He said it wasn't like me to be in a competition. He's right. I am doing it for the kids for the books, yet I am feeling guilty right now that I am might keep other kids from getting the books. Maybe I should have just done a 'Book Beg' for yard sale books instead.

Please don't feel guilty about entering the contest. Your children deserve it just as much as any children, maybe even a little more.

I so agree here - DO NOT feel guilty. You are doing a wonderful thing by sharing those pictures and entering the contest. You have worked hard to set up your classroom for you and your students and entering and winning a prize is a great way to be rewarded.

Sorry you have had stress. Seems likes there has been a lot of that lately, and a lot of sadness in loss and other sad events. I am glad we can come here and be fun and silly sometimes. :)

Today was a breeze. I also found out while we had pool lights I should not have been worried about if I turned them off will they come back on because they could not be turned off. :lmao: I am guessing the switch was not wired in yet. :lmao:

The only thing today was that the lobby and office area was still cold. I bundled up today but still was cold. I made it and it was a rather easy day.

8 days until Disney :cool1:

Hi!!! :wave2: Finally all caught up and have enjoyed the time in AK!

Cupcakes! Oh my those looked good! I want one of those mugs like you gave Trent!

Hannah would love the t-shirt with the peace symbol.

Been a rocky start to the school year for Miss Hannah...not bringing home what should be brought home, daydreaming in class and missing instructions, reading when she should be working on other classwork....I'm ready to pull my hair out! This is the first time I can remember her having such a rough start. Her teacher is very no nonsense and down to business. I'm thinking 4th grade may be a hard one for Hannah. We've also got Alison living with us until the end of the year. So far she seems to be adjusting well to high school. I finally got my van back towards the end of August and last weekend it died on me again so it's back in the shop. At this rate we'll never get back to Disney. :sad2:

Oh! And I voted for your room too! Please don't feel guilty about entering! Your kids deserve it!

From the hotel in Syracuse....I voted for your classroom!

You are in the lead! :thumbsup2

I hope you win, your kids will love to open up the box of new books. :goodvibes

We are about to turn out the lights and try to go to sleep...:rotfl:

We didn't make it to Red Robin, ate at Ruby Tuesday instead. It was around the corner of the hotel. ;)
The pool was a refreshing treat and the hot tub a pleasure.

Nighty night...the 4:30am wake up call will come all too soon.

Somehow.... I think I will be able to manage to spring out of bed with a smile.:)

Check in tomorrow from our room at POP! :yay:

I voted too and put the link on my FB page.

Your kids are more than deserving of those books. I wish I still had my kids old wood puzzles cause I would sent those to you. I just donated a bunch of books too or I would sent those too. My kids loved books and puzzles. Now that the kids are older and not being read to, they don't like books as much. But I still love to read.:lovestruc

I have to agree with your explanation of not spending as much time shopping. You really do have to be alone to really look at everything. If DH is with me looking over my shoulder I can't really look and if the girls are with me they are showing me things they want.

Jill you got some really great animal shots!

Brooklynn looks like a true soccer player. Danielle is 12 and still doesn't like loud noises. She doesn't even like balloon cause she scared they will pop and make a loud noise. She plugs her ears for Wishes. For the 4th of July fireworks this year she wore headphones for blocking machine noises.

Bella is the cutest ballerina. I still have Michelle and Danielle's first pair of ballet shoes. They are so small! Enjoy those girls while you can.

Started on page 1 again and just finished. Great tr so far. I needed a Disney fix and knew you would be perfect for a great tr with pics to read.

Looking forward to more.

I did not tell my students I was entering, but if I win, I will tell them, and then not tell them the results on that day. I'll wait a few days and then tell them they won.

I'm glad your day went smoother. I hope that after this week, I can relax just a little bit.

Not long now - hang on! :cool1:

Sorry about Hannah's rough start. Kids get in ruts with school. I wish there was a good solution to this whole education thing. Learning should be fun. There is a reason why homeschooling is growing by leaps and bounds. ::yes::

Trent uses his mug all the time. :) He is looking forward to going to WDW again in December.

From the hotel in Syracuse....I voted for your classroom!

I had talked to Katie (DWGal210) a few weeks ago about this same thing. Any time anyone wants to throw out books or board games or card games, my class can always make use of them. People don't think about it, of course, but even if you just have assorted game pieces, we can use those. Kids lose the 'markers' as they fall under cabinets or get stepped on and cracked, etc. Even two lone little things that move along a board can find a useful place in my classroom. :teacher:

I remember being very young and being at a party where we had to sit in a circle and pop a balloon. I hated it, and I did not want to pop mine. I have never liked that sound ever since.

Started on page 1 again and just finished. Great tr so far. I needed a Disney fix and knew you would be perfect for a great tr with pics to read.

Good to see you, Scott. I hope you'll make it over to Magic Kingdom on October 16th. More pictures to come soon.

This day was 4th of July.

We had plans to spend the evening at the lovely Polynesian Resort. The girls had on their evening red, white, and blue outfits.

Totally off topic from the 4th of July trip -

Is anybody else a little concerned that they have dropped the Not So Scary from the MNSSHP advertisements? I hope they are not going to try to 'compete' with the wildly popular Horror Nights at Universal by trying to add a fear factor into Disney's party. I had already thought about this when I saw a particular Mickey Halloween face that looked a little scarier than in the past, and now I see that the ads have dropped NSS from the title. I'm for keeping it very, very family friendly. :thumbsup2

Ah, I love the girls matching Fourth of July dresses! So adorable!!! Brooklyn running while covering her ears is too funny, and I love Bella all decked out for ballet class. Such precious girls!

I always have dreamed to stay at the Poly too...it just looks so beautiful there! I love the girls' patriotic dresses, they're so cute! :goodvibes

I did notice that too about the not-so-scary being dropped! I just looked on the Disney site though, and it seems to still be not-so-scary there, with a picture of Dopey and some kids dancing in front of the castle. Probably the least scary ad for a Halloween party they could find, so my guess is it still should be the same-ish.

-AWWWW! I, once again, love the girls outfits! They are just too cute!
-Love the one of Brooklynn and Bella holding hands! Just precious!
-Love the Poly bag and shirt!
-I'm with Bella and Brooklynn-I love looking at jewelry!
-I've never been to MNSSHP, but I do agree with keeping it family friendly. If they want something scary then why not do one attraction at hollywood studios? They should still keep everything else family friendly!
