Mingos in the Watah! What in the Wuhld?

Thanks for recommending the video! Loved it. I agree with LL...it makes me want to go now!! And I think I'd like to go with that family. They look like a lot of fun! :thumbsup2

I saw that video on another thread the other day. It made me so excited to go again and experience a trip like that with my kids. It was so sweet! The Dad dancing was priceless. You could just feel the happiness. I am teary just talking about it.

I think we are definitely among the ones who 'get it', don't you? I smiled and had tears at their fun, and I don't know them at all.

nope he didn't describe them.

I haven't watched the video yet but I'm about to. Hopefully it cheers this DISer up because I'm quite sad. I had a Disney lotion bottle in my purse and it has disappeared (most likely it fell out .) To my boyfriend it's just a lotion bottle but to me it's more than that, he just doesn't understand At least it wasn't the Disney lotion in it, I'd probably be crying real tears.

What kind of lotion bottle was it? See if Ed can find another one for you. If you'll describe it, I can look for it in October if he can't find it.

All caught up!!! that video was awesome. I cried the whole way through. We are taking our Gramma and Grampa with us in 3 weeks and I hope they have as much fun.

I hope so, too. Spending time in Disney World with their grandchildren will be incredible special. :wizard:

OMG...what a great video! I love grandpa! LOL! Hopefully we will be able to get a few more trips in with the grandparents to have those memories. Makes me wish we would have gotten out the video camera...we brought it but did not use it!

We do a little video on our phones, but in the years ahead, I'm sure we will wish we had done more.

Wow that video made me cry! So super sweet! I will have to go searching for that Diser! Thank you for sharing! It embodies what Walt wanted, a family of all ages having fun together. Wonderful!

I had to do it too..... The whole restaurant yelled "shame on you!" at me...I'm sorry and I know it's bad but my elbows just naturally land on the table!

Lana - I don't understand the poptart flavour discrimination against Canadians! I love the brown sugar cinnamon ones....why they can't have them here is beyond me! My cousin loves the smore ones! Did ya find shoes?

I think that is exactly what Walt Disney had in mind. ::yes::

Do you guys get chocolate Pop-tarts? We like those, too, and they are a popular favorite at church camp. I like the chocolate ones that have vanilla insides better than chocolate with chocolate.

Love the video. I am so thankful we have had great trips with my parents to WDW and they get it too! When my mom was in the hospital this summer I was beyond grateful we had our great trip this June (but this video makes me yearn for a BLT stay!)

That's why I'd rather spend my money on trips than on 'stuff'. The memories from the trips are far more valuable than anything I could have sitting around my house.

It is never too late to learn. I bet you know more that you think you do.
Next time we are all in Distown, come on down to the pool.

Just saw the video and yes it made me tear up ... in a good way. I absolutely love watching people have so much fun a in a place that give me a smile.
23 days... almost 22.

Can the DIStown pool have a nice zero entry section for the kids, please? :thumbsup2

I have watched that video about five times, and I have smiled, laughed, and teared up every time.

That video was really fun! I think they had a Mimi!
Sure made me excited for our October trip then the Christmas trip with the kids! I think we will be using the video camera more with them!

I knew you guys would all love it, so I was hoping the creator would be up for sharing it. :goodvibes

When you get your good video footage, promise you'll make a cool movie for us to watch! :)

Just saw the video- so sweet! Made me so excited for my own trip in only 25 days!!

:woohoo: A little less than six weeks for us.

What a great video! I cried all the way through. That guy did an awesome job.

I am so glad he wanted to share it with others. I am ready for them to go back so we can get another great movie. :yay:

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 <--------That's me doing a Brooklynn impersonation on the video link. It definitely gets 2 thumbs up. Thanks for sharing it with us. I hope everyone has a wonderful Labor Day!

My girls will be here in a little while, so I know my day will be good. I am about to go put all of my school work in the car and lock the doors so that I can forget about it for the day!

You guys have a good day, too.

Happy labor day guy's. Hope you are all enjoying an extra day to relax and spend time with family and friends. All caught up now Memom . Got a bit behind Busy getting ready for the return of school tomorrow. Great pictures of Pop, and the one of the girls holding hands and dancing round is adorable (can't think what you called the little dance??. We call it" ring a roses" in the UK. Off to have another look now..

When Bella says it, it sounds a little different. It used to be just 'Wosie', but she's doing a lot better than that now. I have recently read some information on the poem/song/whatever it is, though, and it has a very unpleasant background story. I am trying to block it out of my mind and just enjoy it for what it is when they girls do it.

Awww, that was a great video! Just when I thought I had a favorite part something else happened! It really makes me want to go to Disney....like right now!

Just think of the memories you have in store for you when you are taking your little one. :lovestruc

Thanks for recommending the video! Loved it. I agree with LL...it makes me want to go now!! And I think I'd like to go with that family. They look like a lot of fun!

I bet they are fun to be with. The kids were so cute. I loved the grumpy faces at the end.

What kind of lotion bottle was it? See if Ed can find another one for you. If you'll describe it, I can look for it in October if he can't find it.

I have some too. Tell which design and I will see if I have one. :thumbsup2

Can the DIStown pool have a nice zero entry section for the kids, please? :thumbsup2

Absolutely!!!! State of the art everything for Distown.

Morning all! Happy Labor Day! :)

I love that video! Made me laugh & cry! Thanks for finding it and sharing! :thumbsup2

Yes, we have the same shoe sizes as in the US....my daughter is far from a little girl...could pass for 16yrs. She is already 5'6.
We ended up finding shoes at Payless of all places. (She isn't into all the fancy brand names yet..but I know that's coming soon)

k_reile we do have PopTarts here but not all the fancy flavors that you have in the US.
We kinda went a little crazy yesterday...I took a pic for sunnystace.
There were so many different ones...we already ate the grape. Yum!
My DMom wanted some without all the frosting and we found those too!
I'm sure my kids will have fun trying all the new flavors.
It's a miracle if I can get my son(17) to eat anything before school. We are lucky if he runs out the door with hot chocolate...if we are really lucky a bagel. :rotfl:

I have been so busy that I never shared our countdown callendar.
Here it is....my moto for this trip is to slow down and relax...this Mickey seemed to capture it!

I hope you don't laugh at the shells...I drew them myself...and we had fun applying all the glitter!
Has to sparkle...it's part of the magic!

I'm now going to start packing...:yay:

Hi Memom! I had heard about the story behind the rhyme also, but it seems like that was just made up. Here's a link to an article about it: http://www.snopes.com/language/literary/rosie.asp

Basically, it's highly unlikely it originated during the plagues in the 1300's or 1600's because there are no written references to the rhyme until 1881. There would have been references to the rhyme in books somewhere in the 200-500 years that passed. One folklorist thinks it's just a reference to a ban on dancing in the 1800's.

Either way, my girls love playing it, too. So I'll just sit back like you and enjoy watching them (and sometimes join in).

Wow, MeMom, thanks for sharing that video. True to the norm (for myself anyway) I cried during most of it. That family is precious, especially those kiddies. Watching videos like that and reading TRs like yours make me look forward to bringing my own kids one day even more than usual :goodvibes

I think we have the chocolate chocolate, but not chocolate vanilla. To be honest I only really like the brown sugar cinnamon, or the cinnamon roll ones (both flavours we can't get here!)

Did you like the grape ones? I bought them the last time I was in Indiana and we wound up throwing them out! Normally I love grape but that was not my fave! However, I am one who agrees to having hot chocolate for breakfast! :thumbsup2 By the way, your shells are great!

That was a great video!! I love the grandfather! I hope I am a cool "grandma" when the time comes. I know if we are in Disney I will be happy.

Hope you had a great long weekend MeMom.

I have some too. Tell which design and I will see if I have one.
Absolutely!!!! State of the art everything for Distown.

Won't it be great if you have just the right lotion bottle? :thumbsup2

I read that the Nemo pool at AoA is going to have zero entry.

Jill got a kick out of your Pop-tarts picture.

The countdown calendar is great. I wouldn't dare make fun of the shells. They look wonderful! Happy counting!

I will take the happiest version of the story, then. I really didn't like the yucky one. :sad2:

Every little thing, whether it is at home or in Disney World, will change when you have a baby. Look at some of the simple videos Dawn puts up of Seth. Simple little things he is doing, but a big deal to her and Ray. They probably never dreamed that they would be so thrilled over something like rolling over or dancing or smiling, but they get it now! You know you are going to love your kids, but you can't comprehend the depth of that love until they get here.

I think we have the chocolate chocolate, but not chocolate vanilla. To be honest I only really like the brown sugar cinnamon, or the cinnamon roll ones (both flavours we can't get here! )

You should have sent me your grape ones! I love them! They used to have frosted apple, too, but I haven't seen those for a long time.

That was a great video!! I love the grandfather! I hope I am a cool "grandma" when the time comes. I know if we are in Disney I will be happy.

Hope you had a great long weekend MeMom.

I think I'm the crazy grandma. The other one is much more proper and adult-like. ;) She does talk in the third-person tense all the time, though, which is a little strange. The girls definitely have two waaay different grandmothers. ::yes::

Me, too. I showed it to Jill this afternoon, and I laughed and cried yet again.

Good morning, nice Animal Kingdom cast member named Laessle.
(Pronounced Leslie.)

DisneySummer20112ndset198.jpg

She was handing out flag pins for 4th of July.

DisneySummer20112ndset199.jpg

If you have followed us to Animal Kingdom a time or two before, you know where we are headed first.

DisneySummer20112ndset200.jpg

We are 'safari first' folks.
Study your chart. You may see some of these creatures.

Jill always gets on the side where most of the animals are, and her pictures are always better than mine. I hope she can get a chance to put her pictures on, too.

Can you see the baby hanging on?

DisneySummer20112ndset218.jpg

The largest land mammal - the elephant.

DisneySummer20112ndset220.jpg

I am hoping the newest baby elephant will be able to be out by the time we get there in October.

Are you familiar with these?

Oh Killimanjaro Safaris is the best in the morning! Definitely a smart move on doing that first thing at AK :thumbsup2 And are those flamingos... in the water... what in the world? ;)

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Oh, Memom, I love the video, it's just precious, the whole family is super cute!!! Thanks for sharing!!

We have been very lucky in seeing giraffes many times up close.

There's a cheetah sitting on the rock.

Here's a better view.

I would much rather be on a safari than dealing with our weather right about now. We are in and out of tornado warnings  so I am glued to the TV.

Hope you guys are fairing well with all your rain.

funny that you put up the safari pictures today! DH and I took caleb to the Toledo Zoo today and we went on their "africian" train ride! It was a bunch of african animals through a fence! DH and I both mentioned that Disney's theming is MUCH better! Course Disney probably had a better budget than Toledo Zoo though! It didn;t matter, Caleb loved riding the Choo Choo! He cried so hard when we had to get off the ride!

Awww that baby hanging on was so cute. Thanks for pointing it out because I would have never noticed it. I love giraffes. They are so pretty. Creighton loves to feed them at the Zoo in Miami.

We didn't get to go on the Safari last time we were at AK but it is a must do for us in Oct. I see all the "mingos in the watah".

We are "safari first" people too. And "then boot it to EE immediately after" people! You saw tons of animals on your ride! I almost never see any. The giraffes and elephants are always far far away and I haven't seen a lion or cheetah since December 2008! I love giraffes!:goodvibes Great close ups!

The picture of the girls in the mist nearly made me spit out my lemonade! :rotfl: Gorrillas In The Mist is one of my mum's favourite movies so I've see it a zillion times! Too funny!

I would have been happy to send you my grape pop tarts if I had known! I will think of you when I see them now!:thumbsup2

I would much rather be on a safari than dealing with our weather right about now. We are in and out of tornado warnings  so I am glued to the TV.Hope you guys are fairing well with all your rain.

Everyone stay safe out there in the nasty weather:hug: No rain today up here, just chilly! Fall is in the air definitely! But it makes sense...our kids go back to school tomorrow!
