Mingos in the Watah! What in the Wuhld?

Children in the mist and mingos in the watah!!!

WOW!! Made my morning very happy! Thanks!!!

Well, I was glad to share. I love it when I can start or end a school day with a good batch of trip pictures from someone else, too.

Wow, that update made my morning very happy! Thanks for pointing out the baby mandrill hanging on; I never would have noticed otherwise and it was SO cute!

We are back to school here. Thursday night I start my math class, and today I start the first part of my practicum in early childhood education, which basically means I take the class and intern at a preschool. I am all sorts of nervous but I'm really excited, too. Time is definitely going to start flying between now and our January trip!

The fall always seem to fly by for me. When school gets started, things stay so busy - this year more than ever. Your fall will fly by, too. Do you have your eye on any particular places you want to work?

Boy, you really got some good pictures on the safari! Cheetahs and lions. I don't think I've ever actually gotten a picture of a lion. Lazy buggers.

Try to get in on the early morning safaris. Sometimes they are up prowling around as they start their day. They are mostly lazy, though.

It was just a bottle from when we stayed at Coranado last Christmas. That's why my boyfriend doesn't understand why I'm so sad about it. lol.

Pat, it was a turquoise small bottle.

Yes I'm familiar with those mingos in the watah.

Children in the mist
- that just cracked me up.

<3myfamily - If you went on a weekend day, my dad said he left early both days.

MeMom you have a great Disney classroom, I can't wait to be able to decorate a classroom of my own one day. It'll never be as good as yours though.

Wigd, why have I not seen your classroom pics. Did I overlook them on FB?

(I'll be voting for both of you )

LL, saw your siggie and just wanted to say congrats on your pregnancy.

xoktenox, I feel the same way. I can't wait to be married w/children and planning our families "first" trip.

Your classrooms will be great!

Wigd's is awesome. :thumbsup2

I hope we will get to visit with your dad in October, and maybe if he doesn't fall asleep again - :rolleyes1 - he can come over to Poly on NYE!

I'd say you had it worse than any other DISer. Sorry about that. I know you are glad to be back to normal.

I'm so glad to be back to normal! I was so sick of walking around with a flash light :headache: But as far as storm damage, I got pretty lucky. One woman down the street had her gutters and half of her chimney knocked off by a fallen tree. A couple houses in my town had trees go through them :guilty: I heard that my town got the highest wind gusts in the northeast. It hit 82 mph here at some point. I'm so glad we left Vermont when we did. They got some major damage and I think some of the roads we take to get home are still blocked.

This is the dogwood tree in our front yard. I love that tree :sad2: I'm glad we only lost part of it. And I'm glad it was a section that wasn't close to my car!

My cat observing the storm  He was mad because he couldn't go out. You can see the dogwood out the living room window.

This is my grandma's back yard. That tree is HUGE! I can't believe it fell. It didn't hit anything except a few little trees behind it. If it had fallen in a different direction it would've taken out the shed. If it had fallen in another direction, it could've gone right through my mom's childhood bedroom

Not the best picture, but that's a huge tree limb on my shed. We just got that roof replaced, so it was fine. Our shed, and everything in it, would be in pieces if it didn't have a new roof!

It's a good thing I'm not still in high school because they had to start a week late and I heard they're eliminating February break  That's usually my Disney week! I've been hinting at a January trip :rolleyes1 I'm so spoiled but I hate the thought of a year without Disney :sad2: But a trip in 2012 is definitely a possibility and I didn't think it would be so I'm excited just looking forward to the possibility of a trip :rotfl:

In other news...I love college so far :goodvibes The commute isn't bothering me at all. I'm enjoying my classes, making new friends, and spending time with my old ones. I was hanging out with one of my best friends in her dorm for a little while today and last week. So far college is great :cool1:

MeMom.....I really enjoyed your AK pics today and hope Sarah and I can make it over there in October. We haven't planned all our days yet.

But....if you don't mind could I hijack your report to ask everyone for a favor? We live in a small town about 8,000 or so in the city and another 2,000 or 3,000 in the county. It is a pretty rural area. About an hour from Memphis. The largest employer in town (a copper plant) is on fire and it looks like it is a complete loss. Please everyone pray that all the workers are safe and that the people fighting this hugh fire all come away safe. This is already going to be tough on our town a lot of people will be without jobs and we have already lost many jobs in our area. Other than farming this is pretty much our towns livelihood. Thanks again and sorry to hijack your report.

We've got tornado warnings popping up right and left here again today. :sad2:

I am glad I can now say that stornm is gone. Hope you are Ok too!

MeMom I want to vote for your classroom pics. Do you know how we can do it yet?

Fall semester always goes by really quickly for me! It is the spring semester that always goes by sooooo slowly. I do have a place that I am looking at interning at; it's right in my city and super close to my store, which is perfect. I'm calling Thursday or Friday and hope to start in a couple of weeks. I know it is going to be stressful, but I am super excited to start!

I'm really glad your car didn't get smashed!!!

It's great to hear that college is going well. :) Having friends to talk and laugh with and to study with is definitely a plus. :thumbsup2 Do you have a favorite class?

Sure hope you get a 2012 WDW trip! ::yes::

What a mess with that fire? I know it will change many lives, at least temporarily. That is sad. They will will be in our thoughts and prayers.

I hope you get to AK. We will be there on Sunday. We are going to try to stay for the day, if the girls can hold out, and leave after the parade. We'll stop by Magic Kingdom for the DISmeet with all the MNSSHP goers, then make it an early evening in at Pop for swimming and relaxing. Are you planning to come to Magic Kingdom for that meet? We might be able to talk the girls to coming up to the front gate for a minute if some 'meeters' can't go into MK at that time.

I am glad I can now say that stornm is gone. Hope you are Ok too!

Are you FB friends with her? If not, I will tell her to come look, since she's there more than she is here. I hope it is the one. I bet it would make her day! :goodvibes

MeMom I want to vote for your classroom pics. Do you know how we can do it yet?

We'll figure it out. I got a confirmation that they got it, so maybe they'll let me know when the displays are up? :confused3 Someone smarter than me around here will figure it out. ;) I am excited about seeing all the neat classrooms.

Yeah, January and February creep by, and it's so cold and miserable, too. That's why I love, love, love the spring WDW trips and all the warmth and color that comes with those! :cool1:

Let us know when you get your placement. It will be stressful to do two jobs, but it will be a good experience. Then when you are able to do just one job, it will fell really good.

After we do the morning safari, it is pretty much routine for us to move on to this place.

DisneySummer20112ndset252.jpg

This would be one of the places I would love to bring my students, for obvious reasons.

Brooklynn is very interested in all of the neat things here.

For those who fear birds, this is a place that you might want to avoid.

Next, we stopped for a morning snack while we waited for the train to Rafiki's to start running.

Cast members waiting to serve you.

We got some things from here.

Here's what I got.

DisneySummer20112ndset282.jpg

The mug was going to be given to Trent for a souvenir.
(He liked it, and he uses it often to take his milk in the car in the mornings.)

Another view of my huge treat.

DisneySummer20112ndset283.jpg

Brooklynn made off with the elephant!

DisneySummer20112ndset305.jpg

Other things we attempted to eat.

DisneySummer20112ndset284.jpg

We enjoyed sitting there talking and relaxing and eating and being in Animal Kingdom together.

Those cupcakes look awesome! I love the huge cupcakes Disney makes, they're just so "I'm on vacation and can totally get away with eating this!"

Oh yes, I would not want to anger the gorilla either! :scared1:

You continue to convince me I need to spend more time in AK. But not with the birds and bats! :scared1:

Those are some serious cupcakes!!!:)

I will be praying for everyone having problems right now.

The AK pictures are great! I cannot believe how active the animals were. The gorillas are my favorite. Lily is so cute! Those cupcakes look great. Yum!

What exactly was that cupcake you got? It looks like German chocolate??? Were they good? They sure look good! I just don't see how you can go wrong with a cupcake that you have to eat with a fork! :thumbsup2

I love the trails too! I'm looking forward to making that walk in a few weeks. I can't wait to see the new babies at AK. There were no babies on our last visit.

Mmmm....Cupcakes!! :goodvibes I like that souvenir cup, I don't think I've ever seen them before. Speaking of souvenir cups, I saw that the one from Aluani is over $30 :scared1:

I hope you have a good day. Thanks for starting mine off right! :thumbsup2

Yum, cupcakes! Looks delicious!!

I just love AK...thanks for starting my morning on the right foot!! :)

I always learn something new on your reports! I never knew there was a AK souvenir mug and never knew there was a bakery stand at AK. :confused3 Those cupcakes look delicious!

Love all the safari pictures! I just love the safari first thing in the morning.

Good luck with your classroom contest! Is there a place we can vote?

 Those cupcakes look good!!

The cup reminds me of the beautiful cup you surprised ME with! :goodvibes

Love those cool animal cupcakes! They are huge! I think we will have to share. :thumbsup2

Okay, so I will need that AK mug too....we will need to send home a box, just for all the mugs we will get on this vacay. :rotfl:
3 resort mugs + MK mug + AK mug = 5

Did you find mugs in the other parks too? :)

Ty's Nonnie I will pray for your town & all of the ones affected by this terrible fire. :grouphug:

I love the animal trails! Great meerkat picture! They are my favorite, they just crack me up! I am actually considering dressing Everett up as a meerkat for Halloween (I actually found a costume!) but I don't think anyone else would understand what he was!

Those are some yummy looking cupcakes!

Oh, and I thought I would share with you guys, since I'm sure you'd understand- Today I was reading Everett a book, and on one page there was a picture of a big, round, silver moon. Everett pointed to the moon and said "Epcot". I don't know whether I should be proud, or worried, but I do know that both he and I likely need a Disney intervention!
