Mingos in the Watah! What in the Wuhld?

After we left Wilderness Lodge, we drove back to Pop. John had stayed there to do some work, and the plan was to go to Hollywood Studios to see Fantasmic.

We got food from the food court, as this was going to be the only night of the trip that we could get this.

Jill loves this meal, but she always gets double mashed potatoes instead of another vegetable. A couple of these were shared with the girls. That is a lot of food!

Then it was on to Hollywood.

Hello, Bo!

disneysummmmer260.jpg

It kind of looks like she's tickling his armpit.

Bella is not afraid of wooden characters. :thumbsup2

disneysummmmer261.jpg

We love the lights of Hollywood at night.

Hat covers Chinese Theater.
Stage now covers hat.

disneysummmmer265.jpg

We were really only here to see Fantasmic and ride whatever happened to be easy to get on before that.

This was an easy answer.

disneysummmmer266.jpg

disneysummmmer267.jpg

Brooklynn checked out handprints.

disneysummmmer268.jpg

disneysummmmer269.jpg

You guys want to go in with us?
Come on - cut in line. :)

It's okay. Really. It was a walk on. :thumbsup2

Seeing the film clips always makes me want to come home and watch some of these old movies again.

disneysummmmer270.jpg

Come along for a sweeping spectacle of thrills, chills, and romance.

disneysummmmer272.jpg

If his mother was there she would have told him to get down off of that lamp post.

disneysummmmer273.jpg

If their mothers were there, they would have told them to get off the roof!

disneysummmmer274.jpg

See, moms, by stifling the daringness of our kids, we have kept them from becoming famous movie stars!!!

A girl gangster.
Where did she go wrong???

disneysummmmer275.jpg

From bad girls to good guys.

Our original guide showed back up to defeat the bad gangster girl.

I'm lookin' for a cousin of mine. Says he works on the Jungle Cruise. :confused3

disneysummmmer281.jpg

Yep, the elephant talked. ::yes::

Things are always so serious here.

disneysummmmer282.jpg

We wish to welcome you to Munchkin Land!

disneysummmmer283.jpg

Boy, the whole neighborhood really turns out to greet you here!

disneysummmmer284.jpg

She scares me.

disneysummmmer285.jpg

disneysummmmer286.jpg

And with that, we were finished.

This was the night for witches, I guess. We had just left one, and now....

disneysummmmer287.jpg

I bet that old gal never thought she'd be doing commercials for Vinylmation. ;)

That's it for now. Back to chores.

Thanks for the walk around HS! You got some great pictures!!

I'm with you on the Movie ride. I always get the urge to watch old black & white movies after that ride!! :)

In DIStown, all of our sweet little ones could go to school together. Wouldn't that be fun? :)

I think that would be the best school ever! In DIStown there would be no need for state testing, they could have chicken dinners from POP for lunch, and maybe a Mickey Bar for a reward!

Oh my goodness, I really enjoyed the "visit" to DHS...which is still hard for me to say! Personally, we still call it MGM. It will always be MGM to us. I'm having bad WDW blues, so any update from your trip is a good one for me!

But I have to say, that stage looks so bad in front of the hat, which ruined that whole area!

Thanks for the great pics Memom! I'm getting some wonderful ideas for our next trip.
I am actually making a note for myself about the chicken dinner since we will be staying at Pop - I think that is what I will have our 1st night there :thumbsup2 I've actually never had one of their Moms Night Out meals :confused3, but I think that's what I'll be eating come November (along with the tie-dye cheesecake).

OMG David and I were just talking about this last night!! With all the discount frenzy going on, we finally booked our October trip, its officially official!! But Disney didn't start the AP discount until the 3rd, and completely skipped over the 2nd from the last set of AP discounts (which went from August 13-October 1) so we have to split our stay: 1-3rd at Pop, 3-9th at Boardwalk!! David only stayed at Pop once, and Ive stayed there a lot, so I was telling him about how one night we could have dinner at Pop and see what their special TV dinner special is! I love it!!

We love the lights of Hollywood at night.

I KNOW!! They are so pretty, especially at sundown when the sky turns shades of blue/purple

She scares me.

Then you haven't seen Wicked! She's actually quite pleasant. :rotfl: Which I remind my car-mate of, every time we ride.

MeMom, I want to ride Great Movie Ride with you but you have to do that exact narration!! :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

It's so weird that a picture of the information board, of all things, can make me miss Disney and be so excited to go back! I love GMR. I have been known to YouTube the ending montage with all the movies b/c it usually makes me tear up and I just love it.

Glad Brooklynn's first day of kindergarten went so well!

I also want to do the Great Movie Ride with that exact narration! I think we found you a new job MeMom!:thumbsup2 I agree, one of my favourite parts of the attraction is watching all of the movie clips while waiting to go, and the ones at the end too! I am a huge movie fan!

Well let me give you some encouragement....

My DD is just like Brooklyn. She always has been. She wants to do everything perfectly all the time. She is your typical, type A, first/only child, & overachiever. But I will tell you that my DD still has her moments. It's just who she is and it will probably never go away completely.

:rotfl2: I'm still like this and I'm nearly 30! I can't stand doing things that I'm not good at! (i.e. math, cooking...:rolleyes1)

But remember, it also means that they try extra hard to be good at things, and that can be a good trait too!:goodvibes

Congrats to Brooklyn on staring Kindergarten. Every one of my kids were excited to go, and it made me cry....:sad1: lol

Love the update of DHS. Honestly though, can they put more stuff in front of the theater? soon it will be all the way to the front of the park!

Love hearing/reading about the travels....such fun.
We may be staying at Pop next year for my sons Graduation trip.:hippie:Totally looking forward to one of those meals. (if he lets us leave the parks:laughing:)

I hope your school year is wonderful. And to you and all the teachers:teacher: on these boards, THANK YOU. for teaching kids. You are special people, and you should get much more credit! (and money!)

KIM

Oh that really would be the BEST. SCHOOL. EVAHHH!!!! :cheer2:

Thanks for the narrated tour of GMR this morning! :thumbsup2 I'll have to show it to Miren later as that is her favorite ride! She's such a funny little movie buff. :cutie: She loves learning about all the old movies in the queue and the montage at the end; Ramon and her usually come home with a couple of movies in mind to watch. The latest one they saw was The Searchers (there's a scene in the queue with John Wayne and Natalie Wood).

Not much else you need, really! :thumbsup2

I'm lookin' for a cousin of mine. Says he works on the Jungle Cruise. :confused3

disneysummmmer281.jpg

...I last saw him by the backside of water...

We wish to welcome you to Munchkin Land!

disneysummmmer283.jpg

I am the one in the car ALWAYS singing along at this point. Hey, the guide encourages it! :yay:

Great pics of the Great Movie Ride! I love that ride! :goodvibes

Alright MeMom...it's official!

DH has decided to teach part time and work on his PhD full time so that he can be done by Dec 2012. :thumbsup2

Which means we are going to be poor, poor, poor until then. Which means no Disney...until 2013 at the earliest. :scared1:

So I'm going to have to live through your pictures until I can book our next trip.

Thanks goodness you've got so many trips coming up!

:yay::woohoo::banana:

That TV Dinner looks scrumptious and I'll probably get it too since we have free counter service dining for our trip. This is our first time to ever do a dining plan (and it's FREE!!) :cool1:

Loved "riding" the Movie Ride with you. Can't wait to see that one again. I think my favorite part is the Oz part. We always have to look at the hand prints and food prints and see how me measure up to the stars.

I hope Brooklyn enjoyed her first day of kindergarten. Can't wait to hear about it! I'll be meeting my little kindergarteners in 2 weeks. :)

Yummy chicken dinner! It looks delicious!

Yay for Bo! We saw him too! As I was taking a picture of Bo, I was explaining why he was named Bo to Ben and I think he just shook his head and said something about being crazy. :rotfl:

We missed the Great Movie Ride again....plus I was partly afraid it would scare Owen. It gets scared pretty easy.

I also want to do the Great Movie Ride with that exact narration! I think we found you a new job MeMom!:thumbsup2 I agree, one of my favourite parts of the attraction is watching all of the movie clips while waiting to go, and the ones at the end too! I am a huge movie fan!

:rotfl: Well, I admit that she got all that from me. I've always been like that too until the last several years. I've really chilled out in my thirties, so don't give up hope on yourself. Maybe by 35 you will have relaxed a bit too. ;) And you are right, she is a good girl and tries so hard to please everyone. :cutie:

Memom..... that's the best looking TV dinner I've ever seen! :) And I love all the parks lit up at night too. It has a totally different feel!

Looks like your day is ending off nicely. Wow, that is a lot of food for one person, but it looks really good. Especially those potatoes :goodvibes Yum!

HOORAY FOR HOLLYWOOD! (: The lights there at night are very nice, set a nice ambiance. And those handprint signatures are probably one of my favorite things (minus attractions) to check out when I'm at DHS. I think I have a picture of every one, I got to check that hahaha Love the picture of Brooklynn trying to fit her hands in. :D Oh my gosh, your narration of the Great Movie Ride is awesome! I think because of GMR, when it's raining and I see a lightpost, I just have to jump on it and start singing hahahahaha

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum
