Mingos in the Watah! What in the Wuhld?

I love the picture of Bella and Brooklynn together :lovestruc She is such a wonderful big sister

Good luck to Brooklynn for today

Loved the pictures of Brooklynn through the years, I can remember most of them from previous trip reports. I especially love the one of her first ride on It's a Small World, so cute :cutie:

Don't they grow up so quick, my youngest baby hits double figures on Saturday :scared1:

I remember most of the pics as well! Hope Brooklyn had a great first day of kindergarten!!! They grow up fast. I can't believe my DS is 10 and will be a big 5th grader!!!! Time flies!!!! I can't believe the summer is almost over and school will be back in session for the rest of us! And I can't believe Brooklyn's school started so early! We start Aug. 25 and I thought that was early!!!

Oh!! I love the Brooklyn montage! I hope she had a fantastic first day! I can't believe she's grown up so fast! :) Before you know it we'll be celebrating her first day of college!

Your mom will very much enjoy the Vermont trip. My preacher's wife has relatives there, and they go to visit once or twice a year. He always comes back telling about how beautiful it is.

I absolutely love Vermont. My mom has been there almost every summer of her life. So have I :) My grandma has been going for 60 something years!

I can't believe Brooklynn started kindergarten today! I remember my first day...I cried hysterically :rotfl: I didn't go to preschool and I had only ever been left with my grandma and a family friend(who was my babysitter three days a week from age 2 until I was old enough to stay home by myself) so I wasn't too happy about being left there. I was fine after like 10 minutes and loved it after that. I also cried on the first day of 1st grade...I have no idea why but I did  That's actually how I met my best friend though. She came over to see why I was crying. She's been my best friend for almost 12 years :) Did Brooklynn like her first day?

In honor of Brooklynn's big day, a little fun through the years with her -

A Disney day will do this to ya!

This has always been one of my favorite pictures of Brooklynn!! So cute!!

Brooklynn gets a sister.

IMG_0240.jpg

Oh melt my heart!!!! So sweet!!!

Happy first day of School Brooklyn!!! Sounds like everyone had a great according to FB. :goodvibes

Those are such adorable pictures of Brooklynn. I remember the 1st time you posted the french fry one. Too cute and the picture of her with her baby sister is beautiful!

First things first,:banana: Happy *belated* Birthday:banana::banana: to one of the sweetest Dis-ers I have ever come across! I'm sorry I missed your actual birthday. I was in Indianapolis at the Brickyard 400. I had an amazing opportunity to photograph the drivers/cars up close in the garages/pits! So awesome!!! I'd share, but not sure how many here are NASCAR fans too! Let me know and I'll share a link to the album as soon as it's online. I took almost 1900 photos this weekend- just a few to go through!

I've already left a few comments on Jill's FB page about Brooklynn's 1st day of school, but I'm curious to know how it went for both Brooklynn and Jill!

And I loved the photo montage of Brooklynn, MeMom! So Sweet! I remember so many of those photos from your trip reports and each one brings a smile to my face seeing them again!

Hope Brooklyn's day went swimmingly. My mom reminded me that I came home from my 1st day of kindergarten in tears, completely frustrated that I had not learned to read! :lmao: Let's hope Miss B had more reasonable expectations & more fun. Congratulations, Jill, on launching a great kid! :thumbsup2

I'll be happy to see my own great kid again soon. She's been with grandma & cousins in Vermont & Maine for two whole weeks! Too long! But finally, on Friday, we meet at Fenway, to celebrate grandma's birthday with her (and Miss Anita Wigd's) beloved Red Sox. Now where's my Mickey baseball shirt ...

Love the party pictures!! I hope I got my password texted to Trent in time for Jarvis's girlfriend to see them singing! lol

She didn't get to see it this time, but next time they are here, we will show her. She is supposed to be in charge of booking their Christmas trip. They are coming down December 28th to January 2nd. :santa: She has never been!

Love the WL! The grounds are so gorgeous that we make it a point to visit every time we're in WDW. I look forward to staying there one day. When we decide to have kids, I know who to call on for a little good luck. I hope you'll use your fountain powers for us!
Looks like a birthday celebration filled with fun and love!

Good luck to Brookie on starting kindergarten!!

You just let me know. ;)

Awww... love the coin-tossing wishes! I like the happiness one, I'm in desperate need of that for when school begins Hahahaha And the picture on the rock is very cute as well.

The WL looks gorgeous! I totally want to stay there now. And it looks like they have a nice selection of merchandise at the mercantile. I can't have a full Disney fix without some lovely souvenirs! And I think I may have to get one of those picture frames... maybe...

Ooooo... DIS Meet sounds like fun! That's great you get to come in contact with someone involved in this online world. Adds a whole new layer to things Again, adorable pictures of Brooklynn and Bella with their bears! More Kid-isms, I read?

Can't wait to read more!

I figured 'Happiness for all DISers' pretty much covered anything anybody wanted. And if I happen to win the lottery from one of those wishes, to, then that's an extra bonus, right? :goodvibes

I'm sure you would love Wilderness Lodge. It is especially pretty at Christmas time.

DIS meets are fun, and we have only met nice, down-to-earth people. So far, no axe murderers. :thumbsup2 We get to know people through this forum first, and then we're careful about when and where we meet, as everyone should be.

My Brooklyn was so interested in your Brooklynn going to Kindergarden....best wishes for a wonderful school year!!!

Love the pics at Wilderness Lodge....love that place!!! Ok so who's pregnant now?????

Day One was fairly normal. Jill said she didn't say a lot about it, but she'll talk when she's ready.

Who is pregnant now? Newly pregnant, that is.
Disney Joo was already well on her way from the last coin-throwing session. :woohoo:

Of course, it's only been a few weeks now. There might be someone who is pregnant and doesn't even know it yet! :rotfl:

How exciting for Brooklynn! First day of school!!!
I can't wait to see what she wears!

I saw the outfit Sunday. It was simple and cute. The skirt was really cute, with a white appliqued t-shirt to go with it. I'm sure you saw on Facebook that the ensemble was accented with a Disney Princesses lunchbox.

Your girls are beautiful!!!great pictures!!

Thank you. :)
We enjoy taking the pictures.

Love the updates! When does Brooklynn start school? I bet she is so excited! But I bet Jill will miss seeing her at her work!!!

Today is our single digit dance! Yay!!!

xxx

Single digits for Disney Joo! :dance3:

It will be different for Jill. She's always had the luxury of stopping by her class to peek in on her whenever. Not that she hovered, but if they were doing something special, she could always see it. Luckily, the school is not far from her work, so she will get to run over there for special events now, too.

I need to catch up AGAIN!! My computer is not "my" computer right now. My DS computer died so he as been using mine. Needless to say I get no computer time.

Sorry I missed your birthday MeMom. Happy Belated Birthday.

You didn't miss much. I turned another number, but I still look the same. :goodvibes And I still act like I'm a kid, so the number didn't really change me much. ;)

Maybe your son can get a new laptop for a birthday or Christmas? Or YOU can get a new one and hand him down the old one? :)

Your parties always look like so much fun! Love the tie-dyed cake. So pretty and delicious looking.

Yay! for Brooklynn...going to Kindergarten! It's been so fun these last 4 years watching her grow up here on the DISboards. My suggestion for Jill is that she better not blink...if she does the next thing she knows Brooklynn will be heading out for her 2nd year of college like my baby is! They just grow up so fast!

I told Jill that this will always be a vivid memory for her. I remember the first day of Kindergarten for Jill so clearly. I remember she and Brandy hugging on the sidewalk leading up to the door outside the building. It was a big day!

What a great family day! We had my in laws over yesterday and had a similar menu.

Good luck to Brooklyn on her first day of Kindergarten.
I remember that like it was yesterday for my two. Now it's 4th and 6th...crazy!

Here are our desserts from yesterday. They were easy and fun to make.

IMG_0092.jpg

Good job on the treats, girls!
How many did Tigger manage to sneak? :tigger:

It looks like you had a great celebration! I am sure Brooklyn is sooo excited about her first day.

She was very excited the night before. She was still trying to grasp the whole concept of going to a different place yesterday morning, though. I could tell in her voice that she was excited, yet a little unsure. ;)

Congrats to Brooklyn!!! I bet she'll have a great time at school.

I just have to aunt brag for a moment. Caroline got a "big girl" bed from my parents, since the baby will need the crib in a few months. I Skyped with Caroline this weekend & asked her how she liked her bed. She said, in het cute 2 yr old voice, "This is so cool!" Just melted my heart!

Have a great day, everyone!

It is so exciting to get a big girl bed. :woohoo:

And a new sibling, too! :lovestruc

Great pictures from the party! I'm sure Brooklynn will love Kindergarten.

We have started collecting the needed school supplies, although I'm trying real hard not to think about I know the start of school is coming up way too fast!

I ignored the aisles of school supplies as best I could, but I guess I need to face the fact that it really is time to go back. I bought fifty red spiral notebooks the other day to use for Language for two classes. I guess that makes it official.

I got a bit behind and missed your birthday, but looks like another lovely family party for you, and here's a late happy birthday from us

Starting school is a big step isn't it? Alice starts soon but in the UK we go back a little later, so we've still got time for our big WDW trip!

We go back earlier and earlier here in the south, it seems!

I wish I had had one more quick weekend trip before I went back. ;)

We are very excited for all who are getting August and September trips! :cool1:

Looks like you had a wonderful gathering this weekend!!! I know the time spent with family and friends is so important and we are all thankful for the times we get to spend together!!! I hope Brooklynn will have a wonderful first week at Kindergarten!!! Hard to believe she is old enough for it, but time flies when we are having fun!!!

And fun it has been!
That first Small World ride was just a blink ago.

I am very sorry to have missed the birthday celebration. Would you mind if I posted a bit of late birthday fun?

It can't be too hard to take such gorgeous shots with the models you have to work with. Effortless, really.

I need to go shopping with you in WDW!! You see everything that I could possibly want! Then again, maybe not. My wallet would not survive.

Thanks for the birthday wishes. :)

I love taking pictures of my favorite girls.

I do a lot more shopping with my camera than with my wallet. It is much safer. ::yes::

That'd be fun to see the geyser! Thanks for the tips. I'm so excited, we're almost there!

I know you must be getting beyond excited!!!

Yay for Brooklyn starting kindergarten! I know she will be one of those students that teachers love and wish they had more of.

We sure hope so. She is a little OCD about some things, so hopefully the teacher will help her work some of that out. She's not bad, but sometimes little things bother her that many kids wouldn't even notice. Like Jill told the teacher, sometimes if Brooklynn doesn't think she can do something perfectly, she just won't try at all, so she misses out. This will be a good year of learning that people and events are never going to be perfect, and you just go on with it.

Hi Guys. I need help.
I (alone leaving DH at home) am taking ds3 and dd12 to wdw in less than 2 weeks. I have taken dd a ton of times alone in 12 years but this is the first time with both and no DH.We have skipped AK for the last few years. Mainly because the heat and DH not being crazy about it. So I want to hit AK this trip for about a half day or so. Leave after the parade. We have Donald's breakfast ressies for 10:30 and plan on rope drop and I was hoping you guys could give me advice on a touring plan. Please and thank you!!

We always go straight to the safari. Then we usually walk Pangani and then go to Rafiki's. Will you get in at 8 or at 9 that day? What are your priority activities?

What a fun celebration! I love how you incorporate a little bit of Disney into each party. Too cute!

I hope Brooklynn enjoys kindergarten! My DD4 is starting Pre-K and is not happy to be leaving Mommy AT ALL, as she has been home with me all these years. In fact, I have pm'd Jill for some advice on how to help her through those first few days. Any advice that you can share will be greatly appreciated too!

We do sneak a little Disney into most things. ;)

From past experience (and I did teach pre-school for a few years, too) even the kids that are crying when Mommy leaves are fine a few minutes later. The parting is hard, but while the Mommy is crying her way to work, the kid has already gotten over it and is playing happily with friends. I have called moms many times to let them know their little ones were fine so that they could go to work feeling better about things. I think the cameras at schools are good so that parents can check in and see that for themselves.

What a super fun party, I really love how you incorporate a little bit of Disney

I can't believe Brooklynn is starting kindergarten tomorrow, what a big girl!

We sneak in a touch of Disney just about every time. Sometimes it is 'in your face' Disney, and sometimes it is subtle. ;)

Glad to see you had such a nice birthday celebration! All of the food and goodies look yummy! I wish I could have a slice of cake right now!

Good luck to Brooklyn tomorrow! Its going to be a big day, but I'm sure she'll do great!

We still have cake and cheesecake left. Whatever is not eaten today is going to be thrown out.

So glad you had a nice bday surrounded by loved ones and good times! Are Jarvis and his girlfriend going on the December trip now, too? She'd be so lucky to be with the MeMom gang on her first trip to the World; it'd be like having a private guided tour for her, and you'd enjoy experiencing it through the eyes of a first-timer, I'm sure.

Oh, WL...how I love thee!!! I, too, know that little sitting area you are talking about. It's one of my favorite memories from when we stayed there. Nerea was just 14 months old and giving us some trouble to fall asleep one night, so we decided Ramon would stay with her and I'd take Miren for a walk around the resort for a little bit. It was late and Miren was already in her pjs, we snuck out of the room and wandered around a bit and everyplace we saw was just better than the last, when we happened upon that sitting area we camped out there for awhile by the fireplace, which was perfect because it was February and actually really cold.

Thanks for the wishes in the fountain...the girls are too cute and you all are too sweet! I didn't ask for any wishes, specifically, but thanks for wishing happiness for us all.

Hope Brooklynn has a fabulous first day of kindergarten tomorrow!!!!

Rolonda took the Disney number and the name of the resort and said she was taking care of it. They say they will be there from the 28th to the 2nd. She will be amazed by the NYE fireworks!

Yes, that little nook has a wonderful fireplace and sofa! I love it!

DIS happiness all around, especially for a happy school year! :cheer2:

I hope Brooklynn has a wonderful first day of kindergarten!

I believe she did. :thumbsup2

hope Brooklynn has a great first day of kindergarten!!
--
& tomorrow I leave for Disney! excited to catch up on your report when I return!!

Have an absolutely magical time!!! :wizard:

Oh my goodness! I can't believe Brooklyn is old enough to start Kindergarten! And I'm in shock that your schools start the first week in Aug! When does school get out in the spring? Will she go all day to K?

It is all day K. She is still 4, so she could have stayed out another year, but Jill felt like this would be good for her. She will go to Pre-First next year.

We get out in late May usually. Snow days killed us last year. If they pass the new calendar, we won't have much of a summer at all next year. Teachers will have to go back July 17th, I think they said.

Oh YAY for Brooklynn going to Kindergarten!!
I love that she was sad she had to leave! She'll be a great student!!

Although I can't believe how EARLY the southern schools start back! We still have a month to go of summer! We usually go from the day after labor day until about a week into June.
My DDs are doing a summer day camp program this week that is at one of the local schools (it's sponsored by the school for Young Scholars and is educational). They've been waiting almost 2 months to start their summer camp.

We used to go after Labor Day, but then they started backing it up and then kept backing it up!

You guys enjoy the rest of your summer fun! The girls will have a blast at camp!

I hope Brooklynn has a great first day of Kindergarten tomorrow

Thanks. She made it through just fine. :thumbsup2

Wishing Brooklyn a fabulous first day of Kindergarten.

:teacher: She said she didn't write anything or read a book. Wonder what they did?

Hugs to you Jill and Kleenex too. It is hard to leave them, but she will come home with stories and love it. Can't wait to see what adventures lie ahead for Brooklynn in K!

Jill said they both made it without crying.

Hope Brooklynn has a great first day of Kindergarten! Good luck to you to Jill! I managed to make it to the car last year before the tears came. It's an exciting yet bitter sweet time! Hard to believe she's ready for Kindergarten!

Jill had the day off, so she was going to a movie and lunch with a friend. I think the excitement of getting some big girl friend time definitely helped make the morning happier.

Erin and Ava hope that Brooklynn has an awesome first day of Kindergarten!

Tell those precious girls Brooklynn had a good day! :lovestruc
In DIStown, all of our sweet little ones could go to school together. Wouldn't that be fun? :)

I am finally back! Whew, I am not caught up with the gazillion pages I missed while I was gone. I will catch up soon. Had an awesome time as you could see from Facebook. Looking forward to our Disney trip in around 7 weeks!
Good luck to Brooklyn tomorrow! Cooper starts in a couple of weeks. He went to preschool at the same school,so he is not as nervous. I know how Jill feels. I cried when I took Cooper for the first time.

10 weeks from Saturday for us. :thumbsup2

Thanks for all of your Hawaii pictures. They were beyond beautiful!
Brooklynn could have gone to an official Kindergarten there at Jill's school, but she felt like it was time for her to venture out on her own a little. It will be a fun and exciting year, and even though it won't seem like it during the cold winter months, before you know it, this year will be over!

Me too. Actually, I'm such a softie, I cried just seeing my baby in her uniform for the first time. Right in the store. Moms are so embarrassing.

It's a big step, but after conquering Space Mount-in, I'm sure brave Brooklyn can handle kindergarten. Good luck, Jill & Brooklyn!

Maaaaan, I should have thought about getting a pin for Brooklynn from WDW that said I'm Celebrating Going to School!

What is the ratio of moms embarrassing kids to kids embarrassing moms? ;)

Jill~ Hope your experience of dropping Brooklynn off at her first day at school is fantastic! My mom was expecting some heart felt memory when she dropped me off on my first day. I wasn't for that though and ended up just being like "Whatever Mom, see ya later I'm going to play with my new friends now"

Thankfully, Brooklynn sent Jill on her way with no drama. :thumbsup2

Good luck to Brooklynn for today

Loved the pictures of Brooklynn through the years, I can remember most of them from previous trip reports. I especially love the one of her first ride on It's a Small World, so cute

Don't they grow up so quick, my youngest baby hits double figures on Saturday

That picture is one of the reasons I can honestly say don't worry about waiting until they are a certain age to take them to WDW. She won't remember it, but we will. And when she's older, she can ooh and aah over how cute it was, too.

Hope you guys have a great birthday weekend!

Good luck Brooklynn!!

Those were great pictures, MeMom!

Thanks. You have been with us long enough that you have probably seen them all before.

Disney from the beginning...love it! What a beautiful little girl. The pic of her asleep with the fry in her mouth still cracks me up!

Hope the first day is a good one!!

You know how easy it is to fall asleep after Disney fun!

Awwww those pictures of Brooklynn through the years are wonderful!!! I especially love the one of her first "it's a small world" ride!

I hope she has a fantastic first day of kindergarten!

We will always have a special feeling for that ride because of that picture, I think. :lovestruc

What precious pictures!

Good luck on your first day Brooklyn!

Good luck to Jill as well. I think that first day is more tough on us mom's than on the children!

They both made it through with flying colors! :woohoo:

Good luck Brooklynn!

I love how Brooklynn has grown up with Disney.

Those Pirate Pooh friends were in the room at the hospital when she was born. The doctors and nurses got a big kick out of them!

Such sweet pictures Memom!
Hope Brooklynn (and Jill) have a great first day!

Thanks. She is my sweet girl - the one who made me a MeMom.

Oh those sweet pictures made me tear up! Have an awesome first day, Brooklyn!!

I loved looking through the old pictures, too. Pictures are such great treasures!

I love the pictures of Brooklynn through the years! Seeing all of those pics right in a row really puts into perspective how quickly they grow up!

Hoping you all have a great day!

They do grow up quickly - and the older they get, the faster the years go by!

Such sweet pictures! I remember the first time I saw the picture with Brooklynn asleep with the french fry in her mouth. It tickled me then and I had the same reaction seeing it again this morning. Too cute.

Nowdays it would be an apple slice. ;) She almost always get apple slices now instead of fries.

Praying for Brooklynn on her first day of school. Prayers also going up for Jill. It's hard to let your babies grow up.

They made it through very well. I'm sure this first week will be an adjustment. Even though she has been in 'school' for a while, it's still a little overwhelming, I'm sure.

Congratulations, Brooklynn! What a big girl you are. I hope your first day is great!

MeMom, how wonderful you have so many photographic memories of her. I think my favorite is the Small World reaction, so adorable! Thank you so much for sharing these memories with us.

We are happy to share our pictures with our DIS friends. :goodvibes

Adorable pictures of Brooklynn though the years. She has been surrounding by Disney her whole life!

Yep, even before she got here. ;) Those Pooh pals were in the delivery room! The nurses made such a fuss over them all day. I will say, they were all three very well-behaved and didn't get in the way at all. They just sat quietly and waited for Brooklynn's arrival. :thumbsup2

Great pictures of Brooklynn.

I hope you have a good day at school Brooklynn!!

She did. I bet she is sleeping very soundly as I write this. :)

Aw, what great pics of Brookie throughout the years. She is such a lucky girl. Hope her first day goes great!

She did very well. Let's see what happens on Day Two now! :goodvibes

I haven't fully caught up yet but I'm so upset I missed wishing you a happy birthday!!! soooooo

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MEMOM!!!!!!!!!!!!! I HOPE IT WAS A WONDERFUL ONE!!!!!

Thank you. :)

Oh my gosh - those pictures of Brooklyn are PRECIOUS!!!! I love the Disney in them - I recognize Tony's in the spaghetti shot!

What a great reflection.

It's a big day at your house!! Congrats to all of you! I hope kindergarten is wonderful for her. I still remember my kindergarten teacher (and that was a loooong time ago!). They are a special breed of teachers (who are special anyway!).

Yes, that was Tony's. That's the only time we have eaten there, and we liked it. We need to get back, but we try to add new places every time.

I remember building a block car in Kindergarten. It was the best block car ever created, of course. I sat in it with a boy. I can't remember his name, but I remember it was a light-haired boy. He put headlights on it. I recall that nearly fifty years later!

Congratulations to Brooklyn...I hope her day is perfect~~ Great retrospective!!

Thank you. I had hundreds of pictures of Brooklynn to choose from. I just grabbed a few.

Happy First Day Of Kindergarten to Brooklynn!!!!!

And now, Happy Second Day! :yay: Maybe she will learn her new friends' names today. Jill asked her who she sat with at lunch, and Brooklynn told her a girl and a boy.

MeMom: beautiful pictures...I'm sure they are attached to some wonderful memories! Congratulations to Brooklyn...how was her first day??? Was it too hard for Jill??? Hope everything went great!

Those pictures are absolutely filled with memories!!!

Jill made it just fine - better than she had expected. :thumbsup2

all caught up! First the pictures of the girls with the dis wishes at Wilderness Lodge was just wayyyyyy to precious! I love roaming that lodge and it's so sweet that at such a young age the girls do too.

Also want to send best wishes to Brooklynn for a fabulous first day of kindergarden! I'm sure she'll do great!

For the October trip, I booked my flight and will be arriving at Pop by 11ish am on Wednesday Oct 19th. Hope I'll be able to catch you before you leave!

I think we can make that happen on the 19th. Do you know what you will do that day? We will go to Magic Kingdom and then back to Pop to meet the 'bad' bus. We can meet you at either of those places. We will talk later.

Brooklynn, you'll knock 'em dead in Kindergarten! Have so much fun! The photo of her as a baby with Pooh is precious.

That is a sweet picture.
Can you picture Bella doing that? :rotfl:

What a great little photo tribute to Brooklyn. I hope you had a great first day Brooklyn! Such a big girl now!

She is a big girl. She is so fun to converse with. We will have such fun in October just hanging out together and letting the focus be on her. :goodvibes

Aww, beautiful pictures of Brooklynn through the years. I truly hope she has loved her first day at Kindergarten.

You probably had not seen most of those, had you?

She had a good day. By Saturday morning, she'll probably be ready for a late sleep-in. ;)

Awwww, thanks for all the 'through the years' pictures of Brooklynn! Made me think of my own 2 boys and how hard it was for me dropping them off for their first day of kindergarten, brought tears to my eyes! They grow up so fast!!

And before you know it, your oldest will be almost 30! :scared1:

Hope Brooklynn had a great day today!
Hope Jill had a great day too

They did! :yay:

Brooklynn thought the years was great.

You had seen most of those before, hadn't you? You have been here with us a while.

It's funny to see her hair change from nothing to the Cousin It she is today! :rotfl:

I love the picture of Bella and Brooklynn together She is such a wonderful big sister

She is. :lovestruc

That picture was also before she got two front teeth cracked. It looks different to see her smile look like that!

Just wait. If they backed your school from after Labor Day to the end of August, before you know it they will back it up even further. :sad2:

Oh!! I love the Brooklyn montage! I hope she had a fantastic first day! I can't believe she's grown up so fast! Before you know it we'll be celebrating her first day of college!

I hope we will all still be here then. :thumbsup2

I absolutely love Vermont. My mom has been there almost every summer of her life. So have I My grandma has been going for 60 something years!

I can't believe Brooklynn started kindergarten today! I remember my first day...I cried hysterically I didn't go to preschool and I had only ever been left with my grandma and a family friend(who was my babysitter three days a week from age 2 until I was old enough to stay home by myself) so I wasn't too happy about being left there. I was fine after like 10 minutes and loved it after that. I also cried on the first day of 1st grade...I have no idea why but I did That's actually how I met my best friend though. She came over to see why I was crying. She's been my best friend for almost 12 years Did Brooklynn like her first day?

You better behave better when you start the first day of college! :rotfl:

Jill said she didn't volunteer a lot of information about her day. I'm sure she was busy trying to process it all.

This has always been one of my favorite pictures of Brooklynn!! So cute!!

Oh melt my heart!!!! So sweet!!!

You know the joys of sweet sisters.

Happy first day of School Brooklyn!!! Sounds like everyone had a great according to FB.

They did. :)

Those are such adorable pictures of Brooklynn. I remember the 1st time you posted the french fry one. Too cute and the picture of her with her baby sister is beautiful!

I love that picture of the girls. Bella is totally zonked, and Brooklynn's expression is so sweet. She was just getting used to having this little creature around. She thought it was funny to have her on her back like that. ;)

First things first, Happy *belated* Birthdayto one of the sweetest Dis-ers I have ever come across!

I don't know a thing about racecars, but feel free to show a couple of your favorites. I'm sure there are people here who would enjoy them.

I know the difference in cars and trucks, and I identify them by colors after that. That's about as good as it gets. Drew can tell you about the engines and the tires and the year and the cost of every car on the street, but he can't remember the capital of Tennessee! :rotfl:

Nah, he knows TN, but when he had to learn all the capitals, boy, oh boy, did I have to get creative! :upsidedow

Hope Brooklyn's day went swimmingly. My mom reminded me that I came home from my 1st day of kindergarten in tears, completely frustrated that I had not learned to read! Let's hope Miss B had more reasonable expectations & more fun. Congratulations, Jill, on launching a great kid!

Oh, yes! Represent your Mickey!!!

Brooklynn said they didn't read any books. I find it hard to believe the teacher didn't read to them, but she didn't mention it. I'm sure her brain was on overload all day, though, and if the teacher read a book, maybe that just wasn't coming to the top of her thoughts. Maybe she'll have more to tell about school by the end of the week.

Well let me give you some encouragement....

My DD is just like Brooklyn. She always has been. She wants to do everything perfectly all the time. She is your typical, type A, first/only child, & overachiever. I really thought it would be a problem for her when she started Kindergarten too, but over time it has gotten so much better. She sees now that the other kids aren't perfect either. She just finished first grade and I can tell you that she is much more accepting of trying things that she knows she can't do well than she used to be. She sees the other kids try and fail at things and it makes a big difference. My DD used to actually get really mad or cry if she was asked to do something and couldn't do it perfectly right off the bat. She has always been so worried about being embarrassed or disappointing someone. I have no idea where that came from though b/c we have never been the type to pick or laugh at her over things (even jokingly b/c she can't handle it). :confused3 So anyway, I'd be willing to bet that by the time kindergarten ends you will see a huge difference in that aspect of her personality. But I will tell you that my DD still has her moments. It's just who she is and it will probably never go away completely.

It may always be a part of Brooklynn, too, but I'm sure school will help her learn to 'chill out' a little. It's good to hear that you are making progress and having successes. Kids are fun, funny, creative, and wonderful little creatures. Some have more issues by nature, some create issues, and some are just satisfied to stay out issues and watch the rest of the world deal with them.

We wish all of our awesome DIS kids :jumping1: a great school year!
