Mingos in the Watah! What in the Wuhld?

Happy Saturday!

The death of that young man in the wreck is tragic.

Love all the Christmas lights and holiday fun pictures! No problem about the CP CD -- I will get it at some point -- my Holiday Wishes CD came yesterday, and I :lovestruc it! It made me ever more determined to get back to the parks for a Christmas trip sometime.

Glad you are enjoying that CD! :cool1:
I think every other Christmas would be nice, or maybe every three years. I think a mix of Christmases at home and some at Disney World is a good thing. Having not gone last year, I am extremely excited about being back this year.

I love Saturdays. Even though I still get up early, I am glad to be able to both lounge around and get some things done around the house in my own time frame. I don't have to get dressed and go anywhere unless I want to.

Good Morning! This trip is getting so close....
I went downstairs last night to pull out some luggage for Kyle and Keeley to use. Can't wait for Christmas evening at the Magic Kingdom. There could be some "Wishes" excitement for a certain couple!
He asked me to go with him to look at rings tomorrow.

The festive pictures are certainly putting me in the holiday mood!
Thank you!!!

Let us know for sure. I will have my camera ready if it is going to happen on Christmas night.

Oh how exciting Anita!!!! Awesome!!!

I hope they wait for an audience....as in us. :thumbsup2

Behind again... but I'm all caught up now. I love all of your holiday pictures.

Hope all is well in MeMom's world. Busy, busy, busy here. Luckily most of my online shopping is done & the house is mostly decorated for Christmas. We'll get our tree next weekend. It won't be as nice as yours though.

Looks like you've been very busy catching up on DIS friends this morning. I'm sure your house is very festive. Feel free to share a picture, if you'd like. Maybe of the boys and their stockings or something?

As I looked at this tree, I am somewhat stumped as to where it is.
Do you remember?

Looks like it could be POFQ but I really can't be sure. My OCD is not letting me let it go this morning.

Anita, That is fabulous news. Hopefully some Pixie Dust can happen and you can have PP capture the moment.

I was thinking the same thing Pat. POFQ is what I came up with as well! I've never stayed there during the holidays so I'm still not sure though

If we were having a contest, you would both be winners. You know your resorts. :goodvibes

Hey, maybe that'll be my 'game' for this trip. Name That Resort. ::yes::

I thought I'd throw in a bit more POFQ for you, since you did so well.

You might guess that those were taken a couple of years ago when The Princess and the Frog was the newest thing going on.

Thanks for all the holiday pics. I can't wait to get there in 2 weeks and see the decorations for myself. This will be our first time at WDW during Christmas.

Ok, we got married in New Orleans, and I've always thought we need to check out POFQ. Now, you've convinced me we have to stop by this trip.

What part of Tennessee do you live in? I am originally from Memphis (actually Millington/Cordova/Germantown from 2 months to 33 years old).

So now you have forced me to go get more POFQ pictures.

You must beware of the music-playing child-eating gators that frequent the area.

Okay, that's it. I hope you do go check it out yourself. It is a quiet and beautiful resort. We loved our stay there, and we visit whenever we get the chance to. Or when we must have a beignet! :)

Love Love Christmas at Disney! They just do it so well!! Thanks for the morning pictures!!! Great way to spend a morning at tutoring!! I'm going to head downstairs here in a bit and check out the holiday craft fair they have going on in our cafeteria may be able to find some great stuff!!!

OOOH...a WISHES proposal for a certain couple!! That is VERY exciting news indeed!!!!!!!!!! :cloud9:

WOW!! Thanks for those pics MeMom! POFQ has officially moved up on my priority list. I don't know how we're gonna squeeze this all in. I wonder if I should secretly wish for high crowd levels just so we can avoid them, giving us enough time to explore all the resorts (and Fort Wilderness). :rotfl:

Well, as far as the proposal, he talked about her birthday. That's the night of our Ohana dinner, so you all will be there...
Then he talked about fireworks, I told him we would be in the Magic Kingdom for fireworks the very first night so you could certainly be there too!
Talk about an intimate moment! Can't you see us all there enjoying the occasion?

How wonderful it would be to get engaged at Disney!!!! Hopefully there will be a PP photographer there to capture the moment.

I think I forgot to answer the location part. I am in the Nashville area.

Holiday crafts are fun to look at. :santa:

We do our tutoring on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school until 5. It makes for long days, but it it Disney money. :)

I am going to try to get around to as many resorts as possible ont he December trip. It's been a while since we got Boardwalk Christmas pictures, so I hope to make a special effort to get that one. I may be staying out late after the others go to bed to fit some of them in, but I love seeing the resorts at Christmas!

It can't get any better than being proposed to in Disney World!

Kyle doesn't know what he's getting himself into with all of us onlookers being in on this. If he's game for it, there will be much applause, but he might decide he wants something a little more private. I guess that's going to be up to him and how he wants this to play out.

Thanks for the holiday pictures! Your trips during the holidays have inspired our own less-than-2-weeks-to-go trip( and a 40% code!):goodvibes
I have scheduled a sleigh ride as a surprise for my uncle around the Ft Wilderness campgrounds so your pictures hit the spot!!:cool1:

HI SWWAKE and KGROO!!

I am from Germantown/Collierville and now live in Oakland!!

Memom and family and some other Disfriends are talking about a meet at the Memphis zoo, hope you all would join us!

Hi Memom, hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I am just catching up on the past few updates. Love all of the Christmas pics!! :santa:

I went to GHS ('85), lived in Countrywood from 1977-1986, then up near Dexter Rd at Germantown in 1995-2000. I am a CPA and spent many, many hours in Oakland at Ring Can Corp (my biggest and best client). Small world!

I saw the discussion about the meet at the zoo. I love and miss the Memphis zoo. I guess it depends on whether we will be in Memphis for a visit when y'all decide to do the meet...

Hey, maybe that'll be my 'game' for this trip. Name That Resort. ::yes::

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: The wrought iron gave it away but since I have only visited POR and never visited some others I was not completely sure.

The ornaments were not a clear cut give away either. Of course after seeing the close shots of the framed ornaments, that sealed the deal but otherwise it was only a hint. :)

I hope to get to some more this trip too. If you want to wander around together starting on the 29th, I will wander with you.

Ok Anota - you need to confirm that O'hana date. I have seen you put out 2 different dates so I want to be sure to show up on the right one. :lmao:

Just got this in a newsletter:

"Lastly, those staying at the Polynesian Resort in January should be aware that a beach renourishment project will be taking place between January 4 and January 17. While the beach itself will remain open, various sections of the beach will be unavailable at the time. This may also affect those who plan to watch the nightly fireworks from the beach."

Looks like you New Years Eve folks should be OK!

I was pretty confident they wouldn't do it during the busiest days of the year.

Let us know a time you might be there, and maybe we could plan it for that time. That's a pretty good ride for us, so who know if it will be possible, but if it works, we could at least have a front of the zoo meet for those who don't have time to go in. We enjoyed our day at that zoo, but I really don't know when we will get back. We really want to try to make it to the other end of the state to check out Dollywood sometime next year.

If we end up wandering to take pictures, we'll have to make it a walk from POR to POFQ (or POFQ to POR) along the river. I didn't realize you hadn't seen POFQ or some other resorts. Which ones have you not seen?

Anita told me the 29th for 'Ohana.

Is that what we're going to look like on NYE?

I am glad they are waiting, too.

Does it seem like it is taking us a long time to make our way out of Magic Kingdom? ;)

We milk it for everything it is worth.
I am the worst of the bunch at dragging my feet when it is time to leave.
I want to take a thousand pictures and capture every sight, sound, and smell and put them in a box and take them with me.

I love it when the trolley singers/dancers show up to tell us goodbye.

New-ish things to Magic Kingdom.

LastofDisneySummer2011122.jpg

I do not know if this is typical, but our experience waiting for Princesses in October was that the time we waited was longer than the posted time. It seems that most posted wait times for rides and attractions end up being shorter, so when the posted time was 30 minutes and I knew Kay's granddaughter would really enjoy seeing them, we went ahead and got in line. I think we waited a bit more than 30 minutes. That's been my one and only experience with that, but others might want to chime in so we can see if this is a trend to help others know if it is worth getting the Fastpass or if a normal wait is fine.

LastofDisneySummer2011123.jpg

Sweet goodness!

LastofDisneySummer2011124.jpg

My eyes think I could eat about three of these, but they are huge, and one is plenty.

Okay...make that two.
One dark chocolate and one white chocolate.

Coconut patties for one and for more than one.

LastofDisneySummer2011125.jpg

Almost bought this, but didn't.

LastofDisneySummer2011126.jpg

Could it be a Christmas purchase?

New dinnerware.
I like the placemat and the bowl, but the other stuff is a little too busy for me. I personally like some of the past dish sets better, but it's nice that there are different things for different tastes.

LastofDisneySummer2011127.jpg

Some Disney artwork.

LastofDisneySummer2011128.jpg

I am pretty sure they were warned about holding on to their hats. ::yes::

Look very closely at this picture for a heartwarming (to me, anyway) touch.

LastofDisneySummer2011129.jpg

Call me crazy....but are these real flying elephants??? I see no 'spokes'! :goodvibes

LastofDisneySummer2011130.jpg

Another Disney bag.

LastofDisneySummer2011131.jpg

It's about $150 more than I would want to pay, however.

LastofDisneySummer2011132.jpg

LastofDisneySummer2011133.jpg

You may notice that I have wandered back toward the castle, and not toward the front gate.

LastofDisneySummer2011135.jpg

I drag my feet about leaving the Magic Kingdom, too, but I have never wandered all the way back to the castle. :lmao:

I like the idea of one Christmas at Disney and one at home -- I may have to put that into practice! :thumbsup2

Anita, that's great news! A Disney engagement would certainly add to the festivities! (Are we sure Keeley will say yes?:goodvibes)

I love going on your shopping trips with you!!! I also love the Magic Kingdom!!! I am putting my college program plans on hold till i graduate, but we are planning our first trip in December to see the decorations!!! With my mom retiring from teaching we can not wait to finally see the decorations with lower crowds!!!
I would also like to ask for some prayers for our family, my dad passed away last night and although my parents are divorced and I wasn't that close to him its still really hard. So I am going shopping with my mom and we plan to stop at a Disney store to get some of the Disney Magic to help keep me positive!!
Can't wait to follow along with you on more of your trips!!!

Wow, you really did take your time leaving the MK! Did you also stop off in Frontierland and hit a few rides on your way out .

I agree, that new pattern is a bit busy...the colors are pretty though!
