Mingos in the Watah! What in the Wuhld?

I'm reading on my phone. Did that say 45 or 4-5. Either way so sad and scary. Glad memom and the boys r ok. Be careful everyone. Traffic just seems to get worse every holiday.

As far as our drive by up and back in one day trip. I think Epcot will be the winner then dinner at 1900 park faire before the drive home. Wish it was longer but any unexpected day in wdw is totally great!!

Who all thinks Memom and crew can go from January to June with no Disney trip????? I think we should take bets :goodvibes I know where my money would be ;)

Okay, wise guy!!!
Believe me, if money were not a factor, I would be there 4-6 times a year.
Money is a factor, however. :headache:

Your photo of the castle lights is gorgeous! I'm hoping a couple of the decorations are still up in January!

I will tell them to leave them up until the end of January. :thumbsup2 They should keep them up through the snow month, right? ::yes::

I would really love to do a Christmas trip, but we always drive to Memphis for Christmas with my grandmother. I don't know if it would feel like Christmas not being in Memphis - I have spent all of my Christmases there. But, i would love to see all of the decorations.

Maybe you can do an early December trip someday and still have Christmas in Memphis.

Great Christmas tree pics! I love the castle lights so much. I cannot wait to see them again this year. I am glad they will be up for a few days after I arrive. Hope you are not too cold today. We woke up to thick frost and temps in the 20s. BRRRRR!

Yep, that's what we had here. I scraped ice off the windows. I wish I had a garage when the winter months roll around. And when it is raining. ;)

I don't think anyone is brave (or gullible) enough to bet that they won't! :rotfl:

You two think you're pretty funny, don't you???

I'm suppose to be writing final papers that are due next week for the end of the semester...but instead I'm catching up on your TR :rotfl::rotfl:
So jealous that you all get to go again so soon...I'm hoping to be there next fall for the College program, so keeping my fingers crossed that I'll be back in the Magic in less than a year!!!
Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!

If we had known about the College Program, Jill would have loved that experience.

Get those final papers done, and then enjoy a lot of DIS time over your break. :)

I really do appreciate all the warm thoughts (Memom, momof2TNboys, Mndisneygirl, kgroo, Poolrat, suny_stace and wig'd.) concerning my DMom.
She had her follow up this morning and the doctor said it went "perfectly" :woohoo:

Memom ...you will meet her in a few weeks. She is really looking forward to meeting everyone on NYE!

Lovemy3babes I'm sorry to hear you lost your MIL. I'm sending you some comforting thoughts. :grouphug:

Those Christmas trees look amazing and I can't wait to see the castle all shimmering in the lights.
I can only imagine how beautiful everything will be in person.
We have 27 sleeps til we are there....I just don't know what I want to see first.
And you can count on Lexi being one of those swimmers in the pool.
I have told her that it's only us crazy Canadians that swim at Christmas time. :rotfl:

 for you not getting a spring break trip next year. Maybe there's still some hope? A magical money fairy may come your way. ;)

I'm doubtful of magical money. It would have to be a ton. I need to get a new bathtub and/or floor in the bathroom. Both are old and in terrible shape.

I hope you get to see a lot of the resort trees. They are very cool.

I freely admit that I started tearing up when I saw the castle with all the lights...we have just 34 more days and I am so ready! I am very excited that we can finally start saying we are going to Disney next month!

We can now officially say this month. I don't have much time to think about it on school days, but when the weekend hits, I realize another week has flown by.

45-car pileup near Memom's house this morning....1 28yo man killed, others with injuries. Memom - please check in to let us know you and your family are okay!

How terrible!! So tragic.

:sad1: That's so sad. I hope MeMom and family are OK.

Just wanted to update - Jill just commented on my status on Facebook (I asked my friends in that area to check in since I'm in Georgia now and I grew up there, lots of family and friends in that area) and said Memom and the boys are okay.

Glad they are okay!!

Whew! I always worry about my DIS friends in the path of bad weather!

So sad. Thoughts and prayers to the families involved.

I watched the news about the wrecks. On three different stations, numbers ranged from 45-55. Sadly, the guy that was killed had been married seven weeks, and his sister's wedding was to be this weekend. I can't even imagine how the family must feel. Two months ago, they were planning for the weddings of two children and looking forward to the holidays. Now they have lost a son/brother/husband, and instead of a wedding, there will be a funeral.

The wrecks were caused by ice and thick fog this morning. Keep the families who were injured in your thoughts, as well as the family of the young man.

So glad your family is Ok and so sorry that bad weather had to claim a life.

GRRRRR Dup post - . The DIS is giving me grief again.

And you can see by the post times it probably took me 1/2 hour to get this posted.

Glad to hear that you are all ok. I was worried when I saw the headline but then you popped up with a post on our trip report so I knew you were safe and sound.

I'm so sorry to read of the tragedy that happened near where you live Memom. That poor man and his grieving family.:sad2:What an awful thing to happen at any time of year, but just before the Christmas holidays:sad1:

I think watching a Disney movie from a Disney pool would be the BEST way to spend Christmas night. That gives me chills MeMom. :goodvibes

Thanks to those who asked how we were doing and offered their thoughts and prayers. We are hanging in there. My husband has lost both of his parents now and he's just 34. He's having a hard time understandably. Life isn't fair sometimes. I now will never, ever take my parents for granted. Ever. Life is too short!

I am a little sad that I won't be making it to Disney to help celebrate its 40th (and stock up on souvenirs), but I will not miss its 50th! :goodvibes

I found the Holiday Wishes CD on ebay this morning. There was a Candlelight Processional one, too, but it was very pricey. I will wait on that one until I can buy it on a trip.

Jackie- why not call WDW directly to get the CP CD?

CanadianWDWfan- glad your mom is doing well!

Lovemy3babes Sorry about your MIL and sorry for your dh. He is so young to not have his parents. My brother is only 28, and I am so sad for him that my dad won't be a part of his life with his new son. It certainly helps us to value life and our other loved ones.

Memom- Great pictures of Christmas magic--can't wait to see it in person! I am certain that my girls will be making use of the pools while we are there!

The weather in PA just shifted into feeling like December the past couple mornings- and since it was 54 when I went for a run at 2:30-the month must have forgotten its identity!

I too dislike the cold when I go out to get in the car to head to school. I usually leave by 6 am so it is really cold!

The forecast for Disney is 70's for out trip...so excited!:dance3:

MeMom, I'm glad that you guys are all ok. I'll be thinking of and praying for everyone involved in the accident. That man's poor family....how tragic:sad1:

That's such a shame to hear about the family affected by that tragic accident! :sad1:

The accident has been the subject of a lot of talk around here. With so many cars involved, almost everyone around knew personally or knew of someone who was in it. I added a new 'old' friend from the kids' school yesterday on Facebook, and the first thing I saw on her wall was that her daughter-in-law was in the wreck. I did not know the young guy who was killed, but I know people who went to college with him. (I have heard of his dad, who was a well-known golfer/businessman around here.) He was apparently an awesome golfer and all around good guy, from what everyone is saying. I just keep thinking of a family who had everything focused on a wedding this weekend and a young bride who was probably giddy thinking First Christmas Together thoughts and how that has taken such a terrible turn. :sad1:

We don't know when 'our time' will come. Any time we pull out of our driveway, it could be the last time. That's why we need to make every day and every interaction with others times that we would not regret being last ones. We need to let the little things roll off of us and be thankful for who and what we have in our lives.

It was a pretty neat sight. We will get there earlier this time, and we plan to go straight to Magic Kingdom. Jill will be putting up plenty of pictures for you that day, I am sure, so check on FB for some Christmas Day fun.

As evidenced by what just happened in our town. The young man had just been on a beautiful honeymoon and dreamed of a wonderful life ahead, and then it was so unexpectedly cut short. Thoughts and prayers to you all as you go through your first holidays and special family days without your loved ones. It will be a time of transition, but I know you will honor them in the way you carry on.

I would have offered Jackie a copy of my Candlelight CD, but as most of my CD's do, it has a scratched place. I keep saying I am going to get an I-pod so I can be done with scratched CD's, but I have been saying that for about three years now, and I am still listening to the scratched CD's. I am slow in letting my actions catch up to my intentions sometimes. ;)

After it finally stopped raining here, it was nice. I am making a wish for beautiful Florida weather while we are there. Mid-70's would be nice for the daytimes, and maybe cool enough at night for it to feel Christmasy as we see all the pretty lights. :thumbsup2

More lights. More people.

Happy Saturday, all!

Happy Saturday!

The death of that young man in the wreck is tragic. :(

Love all the Christmas lights and holiday fun pictures! No problem about the CP CD -- I will get it at some point -- my Holiday Wishes CD came yesterday, and I :lovestruc it! It made me ever more determined to get back to the parks for a Christmas trip sometime.

Good Morning! This trip is getting so close....
I went downstairs last night to pull out some luggage for Kyle and Keeley to use. Can't wait for Christmas evening at the Magic Kingdom. There could be some "Wishes" excitement for a certain couple!:rolleyes1
He asked me to go with him to look at rings tomorrow.:faint:

The festive pictures are certainly putting me in the holiday mood!
Thank you!!!

Oh how exciting Anita!!!! Awesome!!!

Behind again... but I'm all caught up now. :goodvibes I love all of your holiday pictures. :thumbsup2

Hope all is well in MeMom's world. Busy, busy, busy here. Luckily most of my online shopping is done & the house is mostly decorated for Christmas. We'll get our tree next weekend. :santa: It won't be as nice as yours though. ;)

As I looked at this tree, I am somewhat stumped as to where it is.
Do you remember?

Looks like it could be POFQ but I really can't be sure. My OCD is not letting me let it go this morning. :lmao:

Anita, That is fabulous news. Hopefully some Pixie Dust can happen and you can have PP capture the moment. :wizard:

I was thinking the same thing Pat. POFQ is what I came up with as well! I've never stayed there during the holidays so I'm still not sure though :confused3
