Mingos in the Watah! What in the Wuhld?

All caught up finally,

Sat Oct 1st at MK was busy and the emporium was INSANE.
I loved all those pictures and hopefully I have a few to share soon.

As for the Karmel Kitchin I just remembered I have a snack in my carry on. Yum Now I have a snack for the plane ride home.

I much prefer POFQ to the real thing by the way. :rolleyes1

Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes! It was just a regular old day - work, Brooklynn's dance class, dinner, baths and bed. I hope to get on in a little bit and post pics from the beach.

That cloudberry horn does look good! I haven't gotten anything from the new caramel shop, but that dark chocolate sea salt caramel sounds REALLY good.

That does sound good. Maybe I should try it this time. :)

I have never seen the gingerbread viking helmets before. I would have chosen the cloudberry horn, too, though.

I have my napkin ready for the caramel shop!

My old standby is Schoolbread, but I am trying to broaden my Norwegian tastes by trying some other sweet treats periodically. ;)

I really love your artistic cloudberry horn photo. I think Disney should hire you to take pictures of their food in natural settings.

I think Disney should call me today to take pictures, and I would happily leave the paperwork, testing, and stress of school! ::yes:: There was an article in the Nashville paper a few days ago about the new evaluation system. It and the comments are worth reading, if you are so inclined to find it on the internet. (It's the Nashville Tennessean.) Taking food pictures sounds like a really good Plan B. :thumbsup2

I never got the time and place of the big 'ol DIS Meet, and I would love to meet you all in front of the Magic Kingdom, but we have a 5:45 ADR at Boma, which I don't want to miss.

I will PM you with my contact information, maybe we could meet another time.

Well, I hate that you will miss the chance to meet the whole gang, but I am sure we can make a point to cross paths. :thumbsup2

I wasn't sure on the time so I'm glad you posted this - I'll be there I'll be the one wearing........oh wait! I'm not supposed to tell

I guess we'll sit out front and let you guys find us, since we'll be recognizable and you won't.

Do you know it has been forever since I have eaten at a Disney bakery...now the German Caramel shop well that's a whole different story! Me and the caramel corn well we're old friends and we will be reacquainted soon enough!!!

Our trip is getting so close!! Can't wait!!! I'll also be waiting to meet you in front of MK at 6pm...but I can't tell you what I'll be wearing either LOL!

I got a chocolate cookie that was topped with caramel, and it was good. i ate a bite or two here and there for a week or so.

We'll let you find us. We'll look like two old crippled ladies with two little girls. We'll be out by the front gate at 6 so that we can find Rhonda and Sarah and anyone else who is just coming that far.

That was me on the CM photos! That's my plan this time anyway. I'm terrible about getting distracted and forgetting about it though.

I can't believe you didn't go in the caramel shop! I had my napkin ready as soon as I saw the sign and then you just left me hanging like that!

We've been to Akershus for breakfast and it was very very good. We are going back this time too. I think it is a little more expensive b/c you get a photo package included with your meal. You get a 8x10 and two smaller prints in a decorative folder I believe. I think if you want a princess meal, it beats CRT any day for food quality and price.

You've got a trip knocking on the door!!! I won't get to talk with you for about 3 weeks since your trip is right before mine. By the time you get back, I'll just be leaving. I'm going to be missing this place by the time I get home!

I've got a suitcase begging to be packed, too. ::yes:: I bought a small 'personal' fan, so that'll be the first thing I pack. As you have seen, my packing is not too difficult. I roll up some cheap t-shirts and some cheap capris, throw in a bag of assorted undergarments, and I'm pretty much there. My make-up is almost nothing. The last thing in the suitcase is the hair stuff and the laptop.

I do hear good things about Akershus, and I am hoping I can share that with Bella for her first trip there whenever that happens, unless they do that on another 'Jill's family only' trip.

I think taking pictures of Brooklynn with the cast members in costumes is a fun idea. Thanks for sharing!

I really want to try a cloudberry horn. And the caramel shop...my mom and I are SO excited to check that out! I have a feeling we'll have to stop there whenever we are in WS.

It's a cute little shop. The caramel popcorn was very good, and so was the cookie. Very sweet, though, so just little bits at a time is all I can do.

Ahhh! Jill!! I feel so terrible for missing your birthday! happy belated birthday, I hope you had a fantastic one!!

She had a pretty normal day. She enjoyed the beach trip, but was ready to come back. She said she was going to get over here today and say thanks for all the birthday wishes.

Mmmm, look at all of those goodies! I think I would have chosen the cream puff. In fact, I have had one before and they were GOOD.

Meet you back at the caramel shop MeMom! Is it pronounced car-a-mel or car-mel in your opinion? We have this discussion in our house often. ha! ;)

Care-a-mul is what I say, but I think the pronunciation for the German shop is Car-mel Koosh.

When Paige turned 3 we had breakfast at Akershus and they gave her a viking cookie that said Happy Birthday in Norwegian. We really enjoyed the food there and again on this last trip in March we had dinner there. This time each birthday girl got a card signed by the princesses and a cupcake.

I'd like to enjoy some of those snacks right about now - where's my caramel corn???

Maybe we should purchase a Viking helmet and let each of the girls have a horn. ;) Where else can you buy a Viking helmet cookie, right? It should be done.

:cheer2:Me! Me! I'll be at the big MK Dis meet. And since we are both staying at Pop I'm sure I'll run into you! And for everyone else my name is Rhonda and my oldest daughter Sarah will be with me. Leaving for the magic one week from today!

026-2-1.jpg
<---------That's us!

We should be arriving at Pop around 10:30 on Saturday. We're checking in and going to Hollywood, then we're going to Chip and Dale's Campfire later. I'll text you when we get there and see if you're at Pop, or maybe we'll see you in the evening when we come back to go to bed.

Memom y'all should try Akershus for breakfast sometime. The food is really good and the princessess are alot of fun. Even my little boy liked eating there.

I want to, so maybe it'll work out that I can go the next time the girls go. If not, we'll get there eventually.

Oh why must you taunt me with the Norway Bakery! Note to self: Must get Schoolbread AND Cloudberry horn on next trip The Caramel shop looks like a good place to stop for a snack too lol

They really should change the African Outpost into a country. I propose Ireland! Any seconds? (If the Brazil pavilion is true, Disney will be receiving a STRONGLY worded letter from me )

Can't wait to read more!

Whatever country they want to put is fine with me. It'll give me the chance for loads of new pictures. :)

Glad to hear you are feeling better MeMom.

Happy belated birthday Jill!! Hope it was a good one!

You are getting so close now!! I cannot believe we are close also. I have been wanting to go in Oct for years and it is finally going to happen!

I am so envious of all your Dismeets. Cannot wait to hear all about it!

Have a good weekend. It is supposed to be in the 80's here this weekend.

It was a beautiful day here. We went to the zoo, so I'll have pictures of that later.

Our October trips have all been awesome!

Just in case you forgot who I was...
I'm Anita and I'll be there with Megan, Jen, Michelle and Jennifer. I hope you recognize us.... We will see you on Sunday before the party and hopefully more...

Supposedly, I will not recognize any of you, so you will be finding us. You know what we look like, and we won't be disguised. ;)

Wow, there was nobody around WS while you were there.

That was 4th of July week, too, but if you play it right, you can still have a very good time and not wait in lines and crowds.

I bet the Emporium was crazy. I saw the crowds on the webcam, and I was glad we changed our dates.

I would like to visit New Orleans for a day, but I'm sure I'd like POFQ better, too. :goodvibes

All caught up! I get so far behind these days! I enjoyed seeing the pictures! And I wish you a good fall break trip encase I don't make it back here before you leave!

On our trip last March I noticed a Photopass CM walking around and taking random pics of guests on the teacups. I spoke with her and she told me she's supposed to just walk around and take pics of people having a great time. Most guests didn't know she was taking pics of them and she said she wasn't sure what Disney was going to use the photos for, but I suspect the Magic, Memories and You show (which I can't wait to see!). She said she absolutely loved her job, and I can definitely see why!

Four more school days with kids, one planning/meeting day, and I am on my way to Alabama. Friday night will go by very quickly, and we have to travel to Birmingham early Saturday morning. We'll be at Pop Century by 10:30 - 11.

Yep, that is my job. ::yes::

For a brief break in Disney action, here are some real life pictures.

Of course, Brooklynn chose a new furry friend along with her books.
This is Sandy Seashell, so named because she was headed to the beach that night.

Yesterday, we took advantage of a beautiful fall day in Mid-Tn to go here.

Brooklynn was not mad or sad - she was just being silly.

We saw feathered friends first.

to sustain us,

we were on our way back to the land of people.

We had a fun day with the animals, and we enjoyed seeing Tanya. She is living in Nashville again, and she met us at the zoo. She was excited to see the girls, and they were excited to see her. As of now, she and Trent are not an 'item', but are friends, so that's nice.

Have a beautiful Sunday, all!
This time next week, I'll be heading to the real Animal Kingdom! :woohoo:

Such a great day with your sweet girls! Bella cracks me up with her hands on her hips. I was going to text you back yesterday and tell you to say hi to the giraffes for me, but I see that you read my mind.

What a lovely trip to the zoo. I enjoyed the tour this morning, almost felt like I was there.

Bella is just too cute, I love the "meerykats" too, I have always found them to be adorable.

I'm so excited for you that your trip is so close!!!:banana::banana:

What great pictures of your day with your girls.:goodvibes

We can let Bella think that they are her Mingos for a bit longer. That is so cute how she loves those Mingos.

That horse must haved looked mighty huge next to teeny little Bella. I think I would have been a little intimidated also.

Have a wonderful Sunday MeMom. I get to go home today from being in the hospital for a week so I will enjoy my day at home!!

Love the "this time next week" game! Think we may be heading to AK also on Sunday so we will keep an eye out for you!

Looks like such a fun day at the zoo! Such sweet girls. :rotfl: at the thought of having to tell Bella all mingos aren't hers.

That looks like a great zoo. The little gator in the pool looks like the one they took out of the water at the Flame Tree a couple of weeks ago.

YAY for a fun day at the zoo!! Looks like much fun was had by all!! Love the stuffed meerkats...that is too cute! Glad Trent finally paid up LOL!!! The girls as always look completely adorable!!!!!!

Well in just one short week I'll be seeing you! I'm really looking forward to finally meeting you! YAYAYAY!!!

I'm going to enjoy a non-nice day here in TX, it is finally raining!! PTL!!! We need rain so bad!!!!!

It looks like you had an amazing day with your girls:goodvibes

Your zoo looks amazing (besides the snakes....ew!). The girls looks so cute with their new stuffed animals.

October2011066.jpg

Wow, that's a big one :goodvibes

October2011067.jpg

Is that tube thing in the meerkat enclosure? That's pretty neat! We have a small zoo here. There's a zoo keepers program at the local community college, but it's nothing like yours!

It looks like the weather was beautiful! It's been raining here going on two days now, I feel bad for the folks at WDW, but we sure did need it here!

Doreen, I'm so happy you are going home today! I hope that means you are doing much better!!!

MeMom, such a great day at the zoo! It's about time that Trent paid up on the Meerkat! Haha!!!
Please tell him I said that!
Also I'm so happy that Tanya was able to spend time with you all! I know that she misses you and the girls! I know that I do too! I FBed with her yesterday!
See you and Brook real soon!

That zoo looks awesome! Glad you all had a fun time.

I suspect Jill's house may be like ours with 2 little girls - more stuffed animals than we know what to do with! :lmao: I always say I'm going to go through their collection and get rid of some. But when I do, I realize that they play with almost all of them at some point and I let them be. There will come a time that we need to do something as we now have 4 overflowing popup hampers of them and the collection keeps growing.
