Military Discounts

I hear there is a discount for the dining plan?? Can anyone clarify this for me. We currently are booked at the Poly with the 40% room discount and we are taking advantage of the $138 PH's. I have been hearing rumors of dining discounts though, and the DxDDP is calling to me...

No, there's not a discount for the dining plan. The value of the promotion is in the discounted rooms and tickets and having the option to purchase the Dining Plan. It sure would be nice though...

We are currently booked on the military discount and when we talked to a CM the other night he explained that since we were military, we could add a DP without having to buy tickets through Disney. Not sure if this is just standard policy but if you want the DP you can at least add it.

Same for us -- we were offered the "military" dining plan, which brought the cost for staying at WL back up to rack rate -- essentially, a FD offer for the military! Our CM explained it this way, "Disney expects military guests to use the lower-cost military ticket options, so this is their way of showing additional appreciation."

You should be able to get the room discount if you purchase the food plan. If you get a pin for free food then you loose the discount on room.
