A friend of mine offered to get my family Disneyland tickets with her military discount...I was just wondering if you have to show military ID at the gate? Thanks
My mom is buying us tickets through MWR (gov't - she's not military). Both MWR and Disney (I called them) said that ID is needed for the Armed Forces Salute tickets, but not for the regular tickets.
Both said it was okay to receive them as gifts.
Is there someone else I could call to confirm? There seems to be conflicting experiences from people on the discussion boards.
That is the same thing I was told. My brother-n-law bought ours a few weeks ago on base. The ticket office confirmed he does NOT have to be with us. Also on the tickets themselves it does not say ID is required. They look just like the printout from the Disney website.
The military salute ($99) tickets do require ID and members can only purchase six.
My parents just purchased the regular discounted tickets for 5 days and yes, they have to be activated at the ticket booth. Those tickets are for service members and their families and friends who are visiting a Disney property with the service member, not to give away or sell.
We have purchased the regular MWR tickets, and what we were given was the actual Disney tickets - there was no activation required.
IME, the only military tickets that require activation at the park are the Armed Forces Salute tickets.
Then your ITR is different. My parents have vouchers that we have to trade in for their tickets at the park. They are the regular tickets, not the Salute or Stars and Stripes, because of the blackout dates. They were purchased at Everett Naval Base, I believe.
Question about the military tickets. My grandmother is a retired AF wife, still with a valid military ID. Are these tickets she would qualify for?
I have my military salute tickets and the instructions say to take them right to the turnstiles. Does this sound right?
We have always had to take the WDW ones to guest relations.
They are printed on 8 1/2 x 11 paper. Don't they use the ticket readers like WDW?
Is there a bar code on the paper? If so, take them straight to the turnstiles. Where did you buy them? Sorry for the confusion, but usually the Salute tickets are, well, tickets!![]()
We bought them at the Rec Center on the Air Base. They ordered them and we picked them up the next weekend. They are already tied to each of us unlike the WDW tickets.
