Military Discount: Two Rooms?

We have previously booked and sailed in a stateroom using the military discount. However this time we are planning a cruise with extended family. Four adults, four kids. Two rooms. One room with 2 adults and two kids, one of whom is the military member. The second room also two adults and two kids, one of whom is the military spouse. I have read the fine print on the dcl site and have googled it. Plan disney has conflicting answers. I'm getting a yes - seperate ID's eqyates to seperate members, just be sure to book seperate reservations. And I'm getting a no, one per household spouse and military are one household. Have you booked two military rooms? How did it work?

My understanding is a limit of 1 stateroom unless the service member’s immediate family (household) is too many and then you can book 2 discounted staterooms. The military spouse is only eligible in the absence of the military member.

From the DCL website:

• Available for Eligible Service Members. "Eligible Service Members" are active or retired US military personnel, including active or retired members of the National Guard, Reservists, the US Coast Guard, the US Space Force, the Commissioned Corps of the Public Health Service (PHS) and the Commissioned Corps of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Spouses of Military Service Members also qualify if they are able to present valid and active US Military IDs in the absence of active or retired Military Personnel or Commissioned Corps Members.

• Limit one stateroom per Eligible Service Member (or spouse), per sailing; the Eligible Service Member (or spouse) is required to sail in the stateroom and must provide valid identification at the time of check-in.
