Military Discount Extended

The Armed Forces Salute was extended through the end of 2015 for those who don't already know. Was able to apply it to my November reservation this morning. Get to calling!

Working on mine right now. I can actually be upgraded to the POR Royal room for 10 bucks cheaper than what I already have at POR. Now I just need to convince myself to pull that trigger and it needs to be done SOON!!!

I ended up upgrading from POR Garden view to AKL Savannah view.

The only resorts with discounts available for my dates were AKL/AKL Villas, POR, and All Star Movies.

Had to switch from All-Star Music to All-Star Movies; but I got it applied for our next trip. Grateful they went ahead and extended. Just have to wait for Camp Pendleton to catch up. Someone on another thread said they weren't quite ready to take ticket orders for trips past October 3rd.

I'm contemplating going to my local leisure travel office and buying tickets. My understanding is that the tickets on hand at MWR offices will work for the rest of 2015. I guess I better make sure they have them on hand and won't need to be ordered.

Steve from Military Disney Tips said that he hoped to have news soon. I never assume it will be extended, but fingers crossed that it is extended for 2016.

We can only hope that Disney will extend it next year. It will be the first time that we will be able to take our DS, DIL & GS with us. Can't wait to see our grandson at Disney. Wish they could come with us this Sept but they can't take off work. Fingers crossed. I think Steve said on Facebook maybe later this month or August

Getting nervous!! I feel like we had an announcement by this time last year. I'm fairly certain we did....maybe not...we went in August of last year and we typically have a trip booked while we were on one.

Looks like we're getting a later announcement due to Disney possibly changing their Armed Forces Salute release from fiscal year to calendar year coverage. I've signed up for his newsletter in case I miss the announcement while I'm at work. I already have our stay booked and am hoping & praying that the discount can be applied to our existing reservation instead of cancelling & rebooking in the hopes of finding a qualifying room. I know it's risky, but I was just so excited to finally be able to book it once the 2016 package rates came out.
