OK, so I know the Military Armed Forces Salutes 3 day park hopper for $99 has had a zillion threads but I still can't find my exact answer. So, here's to a zillion + one threads!

I even tried talking to a CM and she couldn't verify so here I am hoping someone here can answer this question.

Can you buy (showing military ID, of course) Armed Forces Salutes tickets at the ticket booth in Disneyland? I know you can at WDW, but it isn't safe to assume it is the same for DL. We are going before they expire, Sept 24-27. Just made it by the 30th end date! :goodvibes

Dh's base doesn't have a ticket office that's why I ask. :)

I know a fellow diser out there has to know the answer to this question! Thanks!!

do you still have to show DoD ID at the gates?

Jack

We just bought park hoppers from our local base. Each print out has one name on it and will be exchanged for a standard Disneyland Resort ticket to use during your visit.

"In addition, a valid and active U.S. military (or spouse) ID of military member ticket holder or accompanying military member (or spouse) is required for admission."

Yes, you can buy them at the parks :)
Sonnyjane, have you bought these specific tickets at the ticket booth? Just trying to help fly girl with the best information.

According to Disneyland.com:

"Disney Military Promotional Tickets may be purchased now through September 28, 2012 at participating U.S. military sales outlets ONLY by Eligible Service Members (defined below) or their spouses (but not both), for themselves and other family members and friends, as provided herein...."

Here's the link. Maybe I missed something in the fine print (not entirely impossible). :goodvibes

We bought the Military Salute tickets at the DL ticket booth in late May. My Dad had to show his ID when we purchased them, but not at the gate, but he was prepared in case they asked. -- Suzanne

They price has gone up to $125, but thought this was a good place to mention it has been extended into 2013.

I don't think I've seen it mentioned on THIS board, but sorry if it has :thumbsup2

On our local MWR pricelist states that "tickets can only be purchased through ITT," but when you click on the price list it shows 2 prices, the 97.50 you would pay at MWR and the 99.00 gate price. Clear as mud? I know the reguar military discount tickets have to be purchased through the MWR but I always thought the Salute tickets could be purchased at the gate.

Fly_Girl,

you can call any base that has these tickets and they will mail them to you by Fed-ex. We don't have them at our local base, but we order them from a base 45 minutes away. If you would like I can provide you with the direct number to order them over the phone. We always order them, we have neer bought them at the gate.

What?! I haven't heard this? $125 is still a good deal, but I liked the $99 price better. ;)

Thanks. Nice to know you actually did get them at the gate. The CM I spoke with on Saturday said they started having them at the gate because military bases were running out, but she could not confirm if this was still the case.

Ugh, this shouldn't be such a difficult question! :scared:

I find it really crazy if they didn't offer those tickets at the park, but then again that is just mho. You shouldn't have to run through hoops because your base doesn't have a ticket office.

I would love that number. Feel free to PM me.

Jack, you are supposed to...its very clear in the guidelines..however, as you noted im sure, the supposed to is iffy..because some CM ticket takers do and some dont...

I reread this whole thing and you didnt miss anything but we bought these last month at DL itself....i think its just easier to buy them at the ticket booth at DL vs getting the voucher mailed to you because you still have to go to ticket booth anyways....so its just easier to do it all at the same time...if you call guest services and ask them about the military salute they also will tell you they can be purchased at the park

btw the $125 doesnt go into affect till the end of Sept...the 29th I think???? up till then its still the $99 for 3 days...

Just wanted to let everyone know that the CM manning the turnstile we used to get into DCA asked for military ID when we tried to use the $97.50 ticket this past weekend. Good thing I have one :)

p.s. $97.50 for a 3-day park hopper is an awesome deal.

This is interesting b/c I asked this exact question when I made my DLH reservations, and the CM said the military tickets had to be bought at the base. I would rather do it at the gate (as PP said you have to go to the ticket booth anyway to activate) but am nervous that I would end up paying full gate prices...

You know they extended the salute right? its still 3 days and maximum of 6 tickets but the price is $125 each now. Disneyland's entry price went up so they balanced it a little.

and they do need to be bought on base OR through SHADES OF GREEN. if you search and proved your proof of military service they can email you vouchers same as on base rec center.

wait a minute...the $99 promo is still good thru the 28th ...the $125 goes into affect if you are traveling after that....and you can buy them at Disneyland tix booth...I bought them several weeks ago

That is correct the price is $99 for a 3 day hopper until Sept 28th. We bought ours at DL on Monday :)
