Military 40% Discount (Post Your Rates here)

I'm not sure a dependent ID card will suffice for the 40% off resort room discount, so I'd call Disney World and ask specifically about that. When I booked mine, I told her my husband was retired military and she said he would have to show his ID card. She didn't say mine would suffice, but I didn't ask, either. I do know a spouse with an ID card can book a room at SOG, though, so keep that in mind, too.

Yeah, I'm not clear on this either, but we're going at the same time (good idea) so it won't make any difference!

I booked 3 nights/2 rooms for 8 people-4 adults, 4 children-17, 16, 13, 6 at CSR with dining in March for Spring break for $1698.76. I tried to book Pop but they had no rooms. That's ok b/c it will be our 1st Mod stay so we are excited. :)

When I booked we had to book one room under DH's name and one under mine b/c I was told that each room had to have someone with a valid military ID to check into the room and my spouse ID worked just fine. She did say, however, that "Mickey doesn't care where you sleep". LOL Seems like they can't keep it straight what the rules are! LOL

I called WDW reservation to ask for clarification on room discount code MYV ~ the military discount code. She said that "YES! I can check in using my dependent ID card to receive the discount." I questioned her just a bit more just to make sure and she said "So let's say your husband is in the military and you are traveling down here without him. I assume that you have a military ID as well. You can use that to check in with the discount".

So glad to have that solved. I was starting to sweat it.

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

That's good to know. I think the key word is valid military ID. I have a valid ID. I can go on a base without DH.

I have a friend that started questioning all of this and raised red flags for me. She just called Disney and got a different answer. She called a different number than I did. She's going to call again and I'll probably call again (I'm that way) but I still think it has to do with non-military people not understanding valid ID. Let's hope!

We are booked for Dec. 19th-23rd. :cool1:

The CM that I spoke with told me that my DH would have to show his card when we check in even though I am the one who made the ressie. :confused3

Hmmmmm I am Active Duty, DW is Active Duty, oldest DS is Active Duty, we along with 4 other DD's and DS's for a total of 7 are heading down in June. Now I know it says "at no time can a active duty member or their spouse activavate more than 5 companion tickets", but I wonder if I use my free day for my service and get the 5 companion tickets and then buy one addtional 5 day using another discount (never pay rack rate for anything!!) CAN WE DO THIS two other times in 09 using DW and DS active service freebies Hmmmmmm

I just booked the CSR for Sun 8/29 thru Mon 9/6 8 ights and 9 days.
2 Standard rooms, adjoining.
One night's deposit is due now and balance due at check in.
Cancellation at no penalty up to 7 days out.
3 adults, 2 9DS 1 13DS and 1 6DS, maybe hubby getting leave from Korea.

$1609.16 + 5 free tickets + 2@99 = $1807.16:cool1: :cool1:

No dining plan yet. CM said to call back in April and they will let me know which is the better deal(free dining or 40%) -

Now, the question is can I get a super airfare deal?:confused3

I found out over the weekend that AAA can book with the military discount codes. So you get the discount AND the AAA perks too.

I rebooked today with AAA at the same rate - 4 adults, dining plan for 6 nights Dec 14-20 : $2333.32

Just booked the Auto Train today too for our return trip. We'll have enough reward points to get there for free, but there are blackout dates for coming home. I'll take 50% off

:cheer2:

I just booked 2 adults at Pop for March 1st - 7th for $573.75. It's room only, my deposit was 94.50. Compared to some of the quotes here it seems like it should be cheaper than that! I guess we all feel that way when it's time to pay:rotfl:

At first, I thought that was high but then I priced it out w/o the discount. That would run $855 plus tax. So you did good!:thumbsup2

Thanks,

We booked 5 nights at the GF with dining for 2 adults and 2 kids for a grand total of 2,029!
Did I read right in another post, are they are offering free dining in April? We are headed down the last part of April. I wonder if that would be a better deal...probably not if you had to buy the regular priced tickets.

Are those at special rates, or just the normal ones? TIA!

The dining is added to your ressie at normal price but the code is so that they look it up under that. They don't discount the dining at all, but they need the code to add it without park tickets.

I haven't booked our trip yet but I was just wondering if you can book the deluxe dining package with the 40% resort discount together or if you have to get the basic dining plan. I am kind of confused on the exact details.

I'm pretty sure that you can only get the quick plan or the basic plan.
