Military 40% Discount (Post Your Rates here)

I was told today by DU that we could only book 1 room per military ID with the 40% code. We have 6 adults and 3 kids going on our trip. So I was looking to book 3 rooms. I see some people on this thread have had luck booking 2 rooms. I thought that I read on another thread where someone was able to book 3 rooms. Anyone else running into this problem? What did you end up doing?

Hey there!

I spent a lot of time on this with a CM and her boss. It is one room per military ID, but the military ID can be a spouse military ID (the CM quoted this to me from the rules), so we were able to book 2 rooms by placing myself in one room and my husband in the other. The CM said that it didn't matter if we switched people around after we got to Disney World. I was going to just book a suite to hold us all, but I mentioned that we would really like separate rooms, but such is life, and the CM volunteered this info. So, this was all the CM's suggestion and she really seemed to know what she was talking about. I hope that this helps a little bit. :)

Ok interesting news about the ID and reservations.... My reservations are on a 24 hr hold while I checked w/ SIL tonight. She will be going, so we'll need two rooms. Since we're having to book w/ two names, will it be more difficult to get them adjoining I wonder?

How has everyone else done their multiple room ressies??

After initially telling me 1 room per ID, my DU agent was actually able to call Disney directly and confirm that we could, indeed, book three rooms with Dad's ID. He said there had been some confusion among the cast members (imagine that...confusion regarding the military offer) but we would be able to do it after all. It sounds like 3 is the maximum number of rooms that can be booked.

I called this morning to add a room for SIL, and was told the same info as rebster. He would put DH's name on the ressie for them, and keep me on ours. Odd... I'd think it'd just be easier to add a room! :confused3

Go figure-- the CM I talked to first this morning made me call back since I didn't have SIL's friend's address, so I did. Then CM I got the second time (who finalized everything) actually put the reservation in SIL's name, didn't even ask about IDs (and didn't even need the address that the first guy said he needed...) Weird. But she gave me the military price, so I suppose that's what matters. I guess it all just depends on what CM you get!

Yes, I spoke to 2 different CM's on 2 different occasions and they both confirmed that you can book 3 rooms per military person/ID. We booked CSR for ourselves, my in-laws and my sister-in-law and her dh and daughter. We are so excited!

We are considering using this offer during DH's R&R. Has anyone heard of any blackout dates?

The dining is not discounted, it's $39.99 per adult.

And yes, there are black out dates. From disneyworld.com/military: "For stays most nights January 4 to December 23, 2009, except not available at all 2/13-2/15, 4/4-4/18, 5/22-5/24, 7/3-7/4, 11/25-11/26/09."

YAY. My dad just showed me this [he is retired navy] and it made me so happy!

I have a question- for the 40% off resorts, do you HAVE to stay at a moderate?

No, you can pick any resort. They will let you know if it is available or not. We are at the Pop for 7 nights under $400.00

Ah. Thanks so much!

Do you have to book over the phone for the discount, i'm guessing you do.

We were quoted the following for 3 nights - 2/26 through 3/1-Room only

POFQ - $404
WL - $818
AK - $638

With the DDP at WL it was $1099.

Any resort but it is limited availabilty. The sooner you call the better. With the way the economy is I am sure they will open more rooms later but I would not take any chances. Call as soon as you can to get the hotel you want. Then you put down a $200 and the rest is owed 45 days before your check in date.

Yea!! Got more than one room reserved, finally!! Called Disney *again* and got a CM who said "the rules changed" and that each service person can reserve 3 rooms at the discount. Thank goodness I was persistant!!:cool1:
