Military 40% Discount (Post Your Rates here)

So, is it 99$ for the full 4 park 5 day?
Or is it 99$ per day?

$99 for 5 days of the 4 theme parks
+ $25 if you want park hopper those 5 days
+ $25 if you want to 5 visits to the water parks and Disney Quest
= $148 for 5 days of theme parks, park hopping and 5 visits to the water parks/Disney Quest

We decided to cancel our two-room reservation at SOG and book two rooms at CBR instead!

Called last night and booked 4 adults for 6 nights at CBR WITH dining for $2332. We would have paid $1554 just for the two rooms (plus $5 a day parking) at SOG. However, just in case SOG offers something better, I'm keeping the SOG reservation for a while too.

:cool1:

Does anyone know if you can upgrade the 5-day tickets to more? If not, we might drop a day off our reservation.

Oh good!!! CBR is great!

If you upgrade it is a full price ticket so not eally worth it.

Now remember you 5 park days... and if you add the water park and more option then you get basically another 5 days as long as you only do 1 water park a day. So you can have up to 10 days of visits to places...5 to theme parks and 5 to water parks and Disney Quest. If you go to a theme park and a water park in the same day then that takes away 1 of the 5 theme park days and 1 visit away to a water park.

Thanks, I was just going back reading thru the whole thread, and originally we were going to skip the water park this trip. But now I think we'll keep the 6th day and go to one of the water parks.. as long as it will be warm enough in mid December!! We want to do some resort hopping to check out the decorations, so we could also do a day of that. We've never had a 'down day' at Disney before, this might be a nice change. We'll need to pay the extra $50 for each ticket tho, but still $450 for 4 5-day tickets is indeed a deal!

Jan 22 - 27 POR room only 760 for 3 adults (15.00 / day for extra adult fee). We booked through SOG.
I called WDW to ask about adding the DP and she told me we couldn't w/ the military tkt offer. I am so glad I read this thread. I guess I got wrong information from the the CM I spoke with a few days ago.

I shocks me how many times you can call and how many times you can get a different answer!!!

I am glad you read the boards and got the information that you needed!

The rep also booked our second room in my son/daughter's name - but at the discount rate. I wonder if I need to call back and make sure it's ok like that - or if I need to have both rooms in my husband's or my name???

Any resort but it is limited availabilty. The sooner you call the better. With the way the economy is I am sure they will open more rooms later but I would not take any chances. Call as soon as you can to get the hotel you want. Then you put down a $200 and the rest is owed 45 days before your check in date.

That is for packages. For room only ressies, you have to pay a deposit equal to the cost of one night plus tax and the balance is due upon arrival (at least that was what I was told).

Just got off the phone booked POR for 7 nights for 2 adults and 3 kids to include dining. Get this grand total of $1887.08. Just add $396 for our tickets to the parks. What a deal. We are going from 8 Jun - 15 Jun.

Whoa, that's great! That's even less than ours (staying at CSR, 2 adults / 1 teen on DDP).

We've got CSR 4/3 through 4/10 for 1086.
(this happens to be the week before Easter so I'm thrilled)

Ok, so are we 100% sure that this discount works for the dependent spouse and that the sponser doesn't have to be present? I booked with DUL for just me and got Pop for something like $49 a night. MY TA really wasn't sure but booked it anyways. All of the various websites are not really specifying. I know that I can check into SOG w/o DH. I don't want to find out next December that my ressie was tyed to me having a military ID and not just a dependent ID. It sounds like the CM aren't really sure themselves about how many rooms, etc.

Anybody have a link to a definitive answer or number to get correct info?

We got CSR for $1152 with Quick Service Dining plan for Oct 26 to Nov 1 for 2 adults. We had originally booked the room only for $688.50 but decided to add the QSD to it.

We had to put a $200 deposit with the balance due 45 days prior to our arrival.

We have never used the dining plan so this is a first to us. We have stayed at CSR before and really liked it.

We are taking advantage of the Military ticket offer too, so add $149 for the matching companion ticket.

The sponsor has to be present to give this offer. Call your ITT office at your base. But you as a spouse can not get the tickets or check in at Disney. Your TA was wrong.

See below

Minnie I don't know about the room but if you are hte dependent spouse you can absolutely buy and use the tickets, which is what it says verbatim in that information posted above my post.

Actually spouses can buy tickets:

Per Disney:

Valid military identification (including, for activated members of the National Guard or Reservists, orders showing active status after January 1, 2008) will be required to be presented by the service member (or spouse) for all ticket transactions (including to activate tickets at the main entrance theme park ticket windows).

The entire press release can be found here.

(This appears to be the same language that was copied above by the way.)

Edited to add: Just to be clear, my response above applies to the tickets. I have not personally seen anything that states whether the spouse can take advantage of the 40% off room discount as well. Not saying it's not out there, just that we don't need it this year thankfully so I haven't looked.

Based on what you posted, yes a spouse can:

· Military personnel (or their spouses) who purchase "Disney’s Armed Forces Salute Companion” tickets for admission to the Walt Disney World Resort for family members and friends will need to activate those tickets at Main Entrance theme park ticket windows in order for those tickets to be used (regardless of where those tickets are purchased). A valid ID may also be required for admission.

I'm not sure a dependent ID card will suffice for the 40% off resort room discount, so I'd call Disney World and ask specifically about that. When I booked mine, I told her my husband was retired military and she said he would have to show his ID card. She didn't say mine would suffice, but I didn't ask, either. I do know a spouse with an ID card can book a room at SOG, though, so keep that in mind, too.
