Anyone have experience flying Midwest out of Milwaukee? We usually fly out of Chicago, but I hate both the airports and have heard good things about Midwest. The drive to Milwaukee is about the same as to Chicago O'Hare for us, so I thought it might be a good alternative. What do you think? Thanks!

I usually fly Midwest out of MSP to Milwaukee and on to Washington, D.C. about once a month. It is always the cheapest flight and I have had nothing but good experiences with them. The large plane from Milwaukee to DC is amazingly large with big comfy leather seats and some fabulous chocolate chip cookies. I really have great things to say about Midwest and tell everyone I know to consider them.

Midwest is really nice! The flight from MKE to Orlando is a supersaver flight, so no leather seats, but it is still very nice! You should have no problems with them!

I have not flown them for awhile. But they were always my #1 choice! Best Care in the Air! :cool1: Their prices were almost always a little higher. But if they were available and near the same $, we used them over any other airline.

We booked r/t with them from MKE to Orlande for $158 per person. It was cheaper than driving for us. Their flights are usually more expensive so I don't usually check them first, but this time I hit it right. If you are driving to MKE and parking here while you are gone you may want to check with some of the airport hotels for parking as they are usually around $7 a day versus $20 at the airport. Good luck!

We fly nothing but Midwest from MKE. Love it! You can get really good deals if you keep your eyes open. I am flying Memorial Day weekend for $184.00 roundtrip. If it is the same distance from home to Milwaukee or Chicago I would go to Milwaukee. The airport is smaller than O'Hare and Midwest is the hometown favorite!

Thanks, everyone! I booked us out of Milwaukee for our late Nov/early Dec trip and I'm looking forward to it. We have a 7:30am flight so we're staying at a hotel nearby, using their airport shuttle and leaving our car at the hotel--$99 at the Comfort Suites (there will be 8 of us). I was able to get the tickets on a group rate since we have 8 people. (My parents are footing the bill for this trip and said to get whatever flights we wanted so now we're set!)

I will be on Midwest Nov. 19 going to DW for 7 days. I can't wait. I have heard good things about them. And got tickets for 217.40 (for Thanksgiving week) That is the the cheapest I have seen a direct flight yet.

I never thought of a group rate and I'll have a party of 9-11. did they give you a large discount????

TIA!
Sue

My favorite, BY FAR!!! :cool1: I live 10 minutes from O'Hare, my town actually touches the airport in a few places, but I always fly out of Milwaukee, Midwest if I can. I try to get (always do) the early flight, like 7:30 AM. I drive up the night before, stay at the Four Points across the street (super hotel). I leave my car there in the AM< they drive me over, drop me at the curb check-in. When I return, I call them, they drop me back atthe hotel and I drive home, about 45 minute drive, but so much better than O'Hare. As said, the flights to Orlando are the newer Super Saver, no leather, 2/3 seating, but still better than the others. You'll fall in love with them.

And welcome to the DIS.

"I never thought of a group rate and I'll have a party of 9-11. did they give you a large discount????"

It wasn't a big discount, but the net result was I was able to purchase a seat for our baby for only marginally more than buying 7 tickets at regular rate. Does that make sense? Also, they immediately blocked out our seats and gave me the seat assignments. And, as the "travel planner" I got 2500 bonus miles!
