We are driving down in June from NC (Gastonia/Charlotte area) and we usually stop around Jacksonville to spend the night. I have found the Microtel Inn and Suites Jacksonville for around $52 a night with a promotion they have right now, but I do not have any experience with this hotel or specific area.

Has anyone stayed here or does anyone know about this location? Here is the address:

4940 Mustang Road
Butler Blvd./Southpoint
Jacksonville, FL 32216 US

Any feedback would be appreciated. The rate I am getting is about $10 cheaper than the Microtel in Brunswick GA - so I am just wondering where the difference is. :confused3

No idea about the location, but the one time I stayed at a Microtel ('forced' by weather-related flight cancellations; it was the least expensive hotel in the RDU vicinity), I was very impressed. The rooms were small but VERY clean - set up to suit business travelers. One queen bed, one window seat that could double as a bed - a family I met on the flight down used it for the five-year-old - a desk/chair/phone setup, television, closet area, bathroom (yes, I know - of course :teeth: ). Free Continental breakfast.

I used one of these once in IA. I found it be rather nice for the price I was paying. There was noise in the hallway...a group of guys came in around 4 am and were loud. I found that annoying when i was woken up. But overall the hotel was worth the money. I paid about $55 and had a AAA discount

to me it was like a holiday inn express wanna be

We liked the one in Walterboro SC, we had a "suite" which was one queen bed, a kitchen setup in the center dividing the room, and a sofabed. I think it was around $67 a night.

We had bad rain overnight and the brand new window leaked onto the window seat. Everything else was great.

Thanks so much!

I hope someone sees this thread that has stayed there or knows that area. The price is really good and it appears to be a good price, but I am just leary sometimes as you just don't know what you are really getting :scared1:
