Dinner and a Drunk Dude

Hum, I posted an update the other day and I was going to add to is but it seems it didn't actually post. Weird!

Our dinner reservations were at The Boathouse at Disney Springs and it seemed like everybody else had the same idea. We checked in and had to wait for what seemed like forever.

IMG_6944.JPEG

We were finally seated outside on the water. We had dined outside before but not in this area. Our table was at the very end and in the corner. We had a pretty view:

IMG_6952.JPEG

Our server came and gave us water and menus.

IMG_6945.JPEG

IMG_6946.JPEG

Just minutes after we were seated, a group of young men were seated in a table beside us. They looked to be in their early 20s and were nice and polite. A few minutes after they were seated, a guy came walking by and almost walked past them but stopped and said "Dude" very loudly. Apparently, he had gone to school with one of the young men. They spoke for a minute and I'll call him the "walking by guy" kept getting louder and louder. You could tell he was drunk. He was telling them that he just came down to play golf. He kept saying how much money he had (usually an indicator that he is spoiled punk, spending mama and daddy's money or ain't got a spare dime to his name) and that he was here with his "smoking hot girl". You could tell that young men were trying to end the conversation so walking by guy would leave. Unfortunately, walking by guy couldn't take the hint. He was bouncing around their table, bragging about himself, etc. The servers were having to walk around him and our server finally said something like could she help him back to his table or with anything. Walking by guy still didn't realize he needed to shut up and move on.

Our server came to our table, apologized, listened to us complain about walking by guy, dropped off our rolls and butter and said she would be right back.

IMG_6947.JPEG

Not five minutes later, a man came around and talked to walking by guy who went back to his table with his "smoking hot girl" and a group of others who looked like they wished he had stayed away. Once he was gone, the rest of the evening went well.

John asked about the corvina dish and the server said it was one of her favorites so that's what John went with. I ordered the steak.

IMG_6949.JPEG

Both were really good and well worth the money/dining credits.

Dinner and a Drunk Due continued

Our dinner came with desserts and, even though we were stuffed, who can turn down dessert?

We ordered two different desserts so that we could have some of each. Caramel apple bread pudding

IMG_6953.JPEG

and the pumpkin cheesecake:

IMG_6954.JPEG

There was no way we could eat both of these desserts after having our fill of the corvina and steak but we did put a dent in them. The bread pudding was better than the cheesecake and I should have known better because pumpkin flavored desserts aren't my favorite.

Crowds? What crowds?

Today was one of our Magic Kingdom days and I was wearing my vintage looking Space Mountain shirt with custom starry sky ears and shiny gold bow. (you can't see the details in this picture but I may have a better one later on). Did I tell y'all before that we were in the Barbados section at Caribbean Beach? I can't remember if I mentioned it before or not. Anyway, this picture was taken at 8:46 a.m.
IMG_6957.JPEG

Oh wait! I forgot to tell you about our Lightning Lane passes for the day. First up would be Tron, then Pirates, Tiana and Haunted Mansion. I was liking the line up for the day!

IMG_6955.JPEG

Our bus came as soon as we walked up and we were in the Magic Kingdom park and walking into Adventureland at 9:19 a.m. Not too darn bad! Other than using our Lightning Lane passes, we had no real plans. We'd see and do what we want and then catch the other attractions and shows another day.

IMG_6959.JPEG

IMG_6960.JPEG

We saw that the shows was about to start at the Enchanted Tiki Room so we went straight through the preshow area and into the theater.

Crowds? What crowds? continued

The Tiki bird show is always a favorite of mine and I even named some of my chickens after the birds...Pierre is our rooster, then we have hens named Mimi, Fifi, and Gigi.

When we exited the Tiki Birds, we were greeted with this site:

Crowds? What crowds?

I had checked the app and the line for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train was relatively short so we started in that direction. Still no crowds!

The evil stepsisters were out and about:

IMG_6973.JPEG

IMG_6974.JPEG

The app was spot on this morning! We hopped in line because a 30 minute wait for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is not bad at all!

We continued on down the line and finally stopped when we got to the gems:

Still not a whole lotta people around the area:

Soon, we were boarding our mine train and we were off!

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train wait was only 30 minutes so we had jumped right in line and rode it. Once done, I glanced across the way to see what the line was for the Many Adventures of Pooh and it was just:

Who can pass up a short line like that? Not us!

It's really hard to take pictures on this attraction because it's constantly moving and bouncing up and down but I got a few that were decent.

I checked the app and it said the line for Buzz was short and it was! You can't see it well but it's only 15 minutes too. Bring it on!

My face looks so weird in this picture. Due to my Bell's Palsy, one of my eye droops and/or closes when I smile and I find myself trying to overcompensate by opening my eyes too wide so the one droopy one is actually open.

Bring it on! Continued

IMG_7022.JPEG

When we got to this section, we stopped for some reason and Buzz's mouth couldn't keep up with the words. It struck us as super funny and we couldn't stop laughing. It was like watching a foreign movie with subtitles.

What are you doing? Where are you going? I'm looking for 626!

It was nearing the time we could use our Lightning Lane for Tron but both of us needed to make a quick pit stop. I remembered that there were some restrooms at Tron so we stopped there first. Not before I could snap a quick picture though.
IMG_7026.JPEG

I knew that we had to put our things in a locker and I was trying to pick a good locker number that we'd remember easily. As a joke, I chose 626 because it's Stitch's number and John can't stand Stitch so I thought it was appropriate that I choose it.
IMG_7033.JPEG

There are banks and banks of lockers so it is important that you remember your number and/or take a picture of your locker

IMG_7035.JPEG

In no time at all, we were getting ready to board our lightcycle and have the ride of our lives:

IMG_7032.JPEG

If you have read my reports before, you know how afraid I am of anything that goes up high but I am not scared on Tron at all. It's so much fun! When we got off, I went straight to our Stitch locker and retrieved our things. It was so easy to remember.

IMG_7037.JPEG

I snapped the picture above when we left and sent it to Lacey and told her that she'd be riding it with us soon!

Enjoying your TR! You two are a fun couple! Love your dress up pictures - you both looked great. It's wonderful you're able to swing a nice, long vacation!

What a great set of updates! and that empty park. I honestly would have thought I had missed a closing announcement or the rapture had actually come (not shocking I was left behind) or something. Even on the slowest days I've been there, I don't think I've seen it that empty.

Thank you! We joke around with one another all the time and I think that's key to making a marriage work!

You are too funny! I didn't hear any trumpets so I guess we were all good. LOL

From the future to the past!

After having whipped John's booty on Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, we walked straight over to Carousel of Progress and waiting just a few minutes for another show to start.

Our sets were just to the right of the center and close to the front.

I'm not sure why I was so focused on that particular set other than we have an old wood stove in our dining room and maybe I was trying to get a good picture of it? Maybe?

IMG_7046.JPEG

When we got to the last scene, I took a picture of the corkboard thinking maybe I would find something cool written on the notes:

And that's a purple wrap.

Happy Monday Y'all!

We spent the weekend working our tails off on our water well beside the Chatham House and working in the garden. I'm working on organizing more pictures so give me a bit to get that done and I'll post another update or two.

What'd y'all do this weekend?

Good heavens! Y'all must be put out with me....no one responded to my post about what y'all did this weekend. Guess I'll just move on to the update and hope there are still some folks reading.

Taking care of business on the Peoplemover

I had made arrangements for a stroller and a scooter to be delivered to one of my friends who was arriving at Disney soon. She had text me and said they were arriving sooner than they expected and wanted the number to the companies I rented from. She knew that I was on vacation and didn't want to bother me so she was going to call them herself. I didn't mind doing it but she insisted. (she and I attended school together from elementary to graduating high school together so she wasn't expecting me to stop what I was doing just for a phone call) I sent her the Kingdom Strollers contact info. and then
IMG_7050.PNG

and then the Amusement Park Rentals number.

IMG_7052.PNG

All of this was done while we were on....

IMG_7051.JPEG

IMG_7053.JPEG

The Peoplemover which was perfect for getting off our feet for a few minutes and attending to a bit of business. As you can see, the wait time for Buzz was still a short one.

Oh and by the way, if you are ever needing a scooter or stroller rental, these two companies are fantastic to work with. They will bring your rental directly to your resort and they will pick it up too!

We left the Peoplemover and started making our way to Adventureland. The standby line for Pirates of the Caribbean must have been a short one because I didn't even take a picture of the sign, the queue or anything. Just three pictures one of which is too blurry to even post. But I did get the hairy leg pirate picture!

I'm so full! Hey you want a sweet snack?

We were both starting to get hungry so I placed a mobile order at Pecos Bill's at 1:40 p.m. Yes, there's six items for just two of us but I ordered some guacamole and I don't remember what else to go with our entrees. I'll probably remember when I post the picture below.
IMG_7058.PNG
Just four minutes later, I got a message saying our order was ready. We entered, found a table and I went to get our food.

IMG_7059.PNG

I ordered:

Southwest Caesar Salad

Romaine tossed in Creamy Salsa Verde Dressing, Pepitas, Queso Fresco, Pico de Gallo, and Tortilla Strips

IMG_7060.JPEG
Not sure why I took another picture but I'll post it anyway so you can see how the guacamole was served....pre-packaged. It was not super good but not super bad either. Just pre-packaged guacamole.

IMG_7062.JPEG

John ordered:

Steamed Green Chile-Cheese Tamale with Stewed Pinto Beans, Cilantro-Lime Rice, Queso Fresco, and Pico de Gallo

IMG_7061.JPEG

I think that little cup on the side is queso:
IMG_7063.JPEG

We both had Cokes with our entrees. There was a lot of food on those plates. It may not look like it, but it was and we were full by the time we were done. Like full-full. But, not too full to wobble around the corner and place an order for these babies. The ice cream was melting already because it wasn't frozen hard enough but the way Disney is having to crank them out, I can understand them rushing a bit sometimes.

IMG_7065.JPEG

While I was taking a picture of John's float, I had him drinking my treat a little so it wouldn't keep overflowing.
IMG_7064.JPEG

IMG_7066.JPEG

Even though the ice cream was a little on the soft side, they were both still really really good. Just what we needed!
