*~Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Central!~*

I think they tape the parade for the TV special in the day time??? We are going to the party on the 4th and the guy on the phone told me there was a parade, I hope that he was right, as he ALSO told me there would be the Osbourne lights at MGM and now they are not doing that :( I too would like to know what is going on?

Where did this rumor start that there would NOT be a parade on Dec 5?

I highly doubt it. I can't imagine why they would not show the parade at one party and on a Friday no less??

I wouldn't worry about it.

Do you think it's too late to get tickets to MVMCP? How much does it cost? It seems most people here think it's worth the money. Any devil's advocates? We're two adults- will we feel out of place without kids?

I think you def can still get tickets. I would go whether we had the kids or not, kwim? I would call ASAP though just in case, they only have so many tickets each night.

Trust me, you will not feel ot of place. Hubby and I go to a couple of times a year and love it. We are in mid 50's and we have a blast. You will see lots of couples there. For tickets I would say call ASAP and see whats available for the dates you plan to be in Orlando and book them as the Park fills up fast for the Christmas Party. Also try to get a Priority Seating for Liberty Tree Tavern prior to the Party for dinner. Its a character dinner and lots of fun. We had dinner there last year on New Years Eve and loved it and have reserved it again this year for dinner prior to the party. Not so much for the food but for the ambience and the characters. Food is good but not great.:Pinkbounc :bounce:

Thanks Baloo! Still trying to convince my partner that it's the thing to do, but I'm pretty swayed!

My DH and I are going and we have no children and never even considered we'd be out of place. We'll be at MVMCP on 12/2 and even have ressies for CP with characters there. So don't feel out of place cause there's no kids with you. I'm sure they'll be plenty of us with no kids.

kc3...we will see you there 12-2. We also are doing CP....we will be without kids ..... mainly because we are 62 years old !!!!!!!! I certainly would encourage anyone, particularly the ones without children...to consider coming to MVMCP. Disney is for the young at heart.<p><MARQUEE><font size=+2 color=red <marquee> ºoº...We are going to DisneyWorld...ºoº</MARQUEE>

I've read that Tuesday and Thursday are best nights to go...many of the locals go on the weekend nights as a family holiday tradition

You will not feel out of place! My fiance and I have gone to WDW 8 times in 7 years. We're going on a "bonus" trip in December for the first time and will be attending the MVMCP twice. We love having the freedom to go where we want, free from strollers and diapers. Although, in five or so years, we'll be planning on joining those ranks...

We'll be looking for you too! Glad to hear someone else that is our age will be there unescorted by kids. Although I do love watching them interact with the characters. Next year we'll be going down with our grandchildren and their parents! What time is your ressie for CP? Ours is at 5:05 on 12/2. You'll have to do like the rest of us and find lime green ribbon to wear so you can be spotted. When are your dates for? Ours are 11/29 - 12/8 staying at the GF. Our itinerary is - 11/29 arrive around 4:00 p.m. and relax and enjoy a nice dinner, 11/30 over MGM in the p.m. for a late lunch at 50's and Fantasmic, Monday doing Donalds Breakfastsaurus (never done that one) and then do AK, Tues at MVMCP and Wednesday Hoop Dee Doo. Friday Keys to the Kingdom tour and perhaps massages at the GF Spa on Saturday the others days just doing/going whatever/whereever we feel like. Oh I'm so excited about going at Christmas time - I feel like a little kid waiting for Santa!

We are going to be there Dec. 13th-20th. Is this something that would be worth doing twice. We have little kids, but they love to party!!

Hello,

we attended the halloween event last year as you can tell by the photo, we had a character dining experience and all of the characters were dressed up in their halloween costumes...

Does anyone know if the character dining for dinner prior to the start of the party will include the characters dressed up in their Christmas Costumes?

Thanks
Hula-baloo

My MIL just told me she's not sure she wants to go with us to WDW the week before Christmas. I've already bought a ticket to MVMCP for her.

I hate to let this go to waste, especially knowing there might be someone out there who wants to go, but can't get a ticket.

If she decides to bail out, is this something that is transferrable? Anyone know?

Thanks!

From what the ticket agent told me if you don't use your ticket you are out of luck :( Maybe you could try and sell if on here or ebay?

I have a couple of questions about MVMCP ... this will be our first time going :) I know the party starts at 7PM, but when does it end? I was also wondering if counter service restaurants would be open during the party...

TIA :p

I echo bunnyfoo's question about counter service restaurants being open during the party - I don't remember which, if any, are open. Does anyone know??

Well we finally were able to order our tickets today! Whoohoo!!!! I am so excited. We should be getting them in the mail soon. I can't wait to go! (hope it's not cold)

Bunnyfoo,
I have heard that there are a few counter service restaurants open. The one that someone has said for sure is Cosmic Ray's. I have been to the MVMCP once before, but I didn't notice what was open!
Hope this helps.
