Is it possible to dine in the park prior to the party with just a MVMCP ticket?

We are arriving late afternoon in Orlando (4:30 pm) and it would great to eat at the Liberty Tree before the party starts, but we don't want to use up an entire day on our Park Hopper pass just to get into the park before the party to eat. Know what I mean?????

Hi. Assuming it works the same, we were able to get into MK at 4:30 this past October for the Halloween Party with just the ticket for the party.

Ok, I am so confused! Everyone says the last party is always really crowded. And then I read that a lot of the parties sell out. So, do they sell more tickets for the last party? If not, then how is it possible that the last party is more crowded if the other days sell out also?

Solo at WDW is a blast! I would think the MVMCP would be no exception.
Fun at Disney doesn't depend on the number!!!

Has anyone been to the first of the season MVMCP?

I think traditionally opening night is the Sunday of Thanksgiving Weekend. Are the crowds larger due to the leftover holiday crowds?

I am on the fence about getting a ticket for that Sunday or Tuesday. I leave on Thursday so those are my two options.

Yes it makes sense. I don't think anyone without inside information really knows how many tickets they sell. But my guess is that they do make the same number of tickets available for each party, and the comments about "last party is always really crowded" just boil down to that party being sold out. MVMCP does not even approach a crowded summer day (let alone the week after Christmas) in terms of attendance, but it seems more crowded than it is because of the events like the parade and Wishes that nearly everyone participates in. Plus the expectation of a lot of people that they're going to have the park to themselves.

Any thoughts on this...we are sneaking in a budget trip Nov 27-Dec 4, staying at ASMo with me, DH and DS who will be almost 3 (hence sneaking in the last trip while he's still FREE). We went last fall but opted not to do MNSSHP as I didn't know how he would handle the late nights and in hindsight lucky we didn't buy the tickets because we all got sick with a stomach bug while there (still a great trip though).

I want to plan a meal at Chef Mickey's as he loves the characters (we are definitely repeating breakfast at CP, highlight of the last trip) and was thinking maybe doing a park in the am, nap and relax afternoon then going to Chef MIckey's and the MVMCP on the Tuesday night? If so, what time should I make a PS?

I'm not sold on the party, as we will have time to do MK on 2 days if need be, trying to justify the cost for just the xmas atmosphere and the parade which he might not stay awake for (his usual bedtime is 6:30-7:00 right now as he is an early riser). Am I missing anything besides this and the low lines for rides?

Yup! According to the unoffical guide book, they sell about 20,000 tickets to each party usually, but that number changes from year to year. You could ask a cast member when the tickets go on sale. Maybe they'd know?

I don't post very often, so don't know if I can be of much help, but wanted to answer the question posed by Connorsmom911. We attended the Nov 30, 2004 party and it was well worth it. I, too, wondered if it was worth the extra $, and hesitated. At the time, a wonderful fellow DISer had to cancel her trip, and generously gave my family her tickets. I think it was a combination of things that made the MVMCP so special: the generosity of the DISer that gave those tickets so unselfishly, along with the extra magic of MK at Christmas time, but it was unforgettable. That early in the season, not only are the lines short, and crowds small,but the parade and special stage shows alone are worth the admission price. We rode all the major rides at least once, then worked our way around to lower priorities and repeated favorites, and still saw the early parade, Wishes, all the shows, and got photos taken. Although I love Chef Mickey's, it wouldn't be my 1st pick for the MVMCP evening. Since you can enter the park as early as 4-4:30 with your MVMCP ticket, you could enjoy a few rides, then have dinner at the Castle, Liberty Tree, or Tony's while they clear the park of day guests. Then enter the park after dinner to get the most out of the party before your little ones are tired out. In my experience, there was nothing like walking out of Tony's on Main Street to the Christmas music and snow falling to see the Christmas tree lighting. What a way to kick off the Christmas season! Hope this helps!

This is a difficult question for some people to reconcile. To fully understand how some of us feel about WDW you have to transcend beyond Disney being a "Theme Park". It is a place of magic meant to lift you past the everyday. To see it as a mere theme park with rides is to say that the Disney Magic is just a boat, the Statue of Liberty is just a sculpture or that the Mona Lisa is just a painting.

For my family, and especially me, the Disney experience boarders on the spiritual. The MVMCP helps make the season that much more special. Go and experience it for yourself.

Between 6 and 7 they are clearing out the park. Most of the decorations are already up.

They will not make you exit and re-enter. If you finish early, they will ask you to go to Tomorrowland while they continue to clear out the park.

Main Street will be crowded as people start lining up for the first parade around 7:00p.

Last year all counter services except Cosmic Rays closed from 6:00p to 7:00p to help them with clearing out the park.

Thanks so much!! Last time we went, in 2001, we ate at Tony's. That was our second try at Tony's and there won't be a third. We're already eating at CP and the castle during our trip, so we were thinking about doing counter service. But I think we'll do LLT...we've never been there. We'll just cancel one of our other planned character meals and do LLT.

We're probably going to do the last party on the 20th...even though it's last party, I'm hoping it won't be *too* bad since it's on a Tuesday. Can't wait to bring my mom and DS to experience the magic!

I went to the party for the first time last year with my sister and it was so much fun! I highly recommend it for adults and teens/pre-teens. I wouldn't think it would be worthwhile to bring a 3 year old, though, especially since you can visit the MK during the day when he can enjoy it. I have a 4 and 7 year old and wouldn't bring them yet either. If you want to go and enjoy the party for yourself and your little one can sleep in a stroller and you don't mind pushing him around, then go for it. But he isn't going to get that much out of the evening when he's tired.

This is probably a stupid question but.....

Most posters to this thread are arriving prior to the 7PM start time....Would there be any problems entering the park later, say 8 or 9. I would think you would be able to avoid the crowds leaving the park.

Of course you can but you will miss some of the festivities arriving so late. The first parade is at 8:30p.

Last year we walked past the end of Main Street around 7:30 and people were still streaming in. So if you are not in by 7:00, you will have lots of company.
