Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Central 2005

I don't even care how busy the party is...everytime I go with my girls something magical happens. 2 years ago during the first parade while everyone was there we went back to fantasy last and when we got to the back of the castle there is was Cinderella and her coach. NO LINE she twirled with my girls and the most precious moment to see their eyes light up!!! Oh 5 more days!!!!!

OMG! I am still teared up after reading that. I can only imagine how excited your girls were!!

I agree that it doesn't matter how busy it is. There is just something magical about the MVMCP!

I haven't been to the MK with my Mom and Dad since I was a kid so we bought them tickets this year as part of thier Christmas Gift. We are also having "Christmas Dinner" at LTT together that evening. I am so excited about being there with my parents, my husband and my DS16 and DD10.

16 more days!!! Yay!!!

That is a great christmas girft for your parents. My mom is coming with my girls and I they are 5 & 8. I can't wait for her to see the twinkle in our eyes. GIRL TRIP!!! So excited. Not to mention she has never been to MVMCP.

Question!

I just called DH to tell him that the 18th was sold out and mentioned how great it was that we already bought tickets. He then said that he didn't buy tickets yet! :earseek: :earseek: :earseek: He was supposed to do this months ago! I haven't been nagging him about it because it was the only thing he was responsible for doing. He told me he was going to do Will Call so I haven't been waiting for them.

Now it turns out that it is sold out and we don't have tickets!!! :sad2: Our only other option is the last party on 12/20. Is it crazy busy that night? Is it worth it? I wasn't planning much additional MK time other than MVMCP because we go to DL fairly often and don't have kids so the rides at the party would be enough for us and I want the atmosphere anyway. What do you think? Please help 'cause I need to buy tickets right now!

Bought mine in Juy due to this very reason. Like I said before, my family goes to one of the last parties every year and they have all been sold out.

Even though the parties have been sold out, it has all been very manageable. The only long line we have ever waited in was to get our photo done. The picture in 2003 was of such bad quality, we didn't even bother last year. Other than the photo line and the parades, it seemed as if we had the park to ourselves.

We are going the 18th (>>>Bought tickets the day they went on sale<<<) and I am so glad to hear you say that.

put it this way they only sell so many tickets, the 18th sold out so you would have been there in the craziness. Buy you tickets for 20th before they sell it because it alwys does. So it would be the same crown for either night. Correct me everyone if I am analyzing this wrong.

I guess I was just trying to decide if we should even bother going. You made a good point though. It also happened to be exactly what DH said also. He's in the doghouse though so I refuse to acknowledge his good point but I'll give it to you. :dog2:

you are too funny!!! I have never been there on a sold out night but I have this way of pulling out the good in a crowded situation. So we always have fun anyway!!!

Yes let him suffer the guilt for a while!!!!!

Well, being that the 18th is sold out, I am not sure how much busier the 20th would be??

I wasn't planning much additional MK time other than MVMCP because we go to DL fairly often and don't have kids so the rides at the party would be enough for us and I want the atmosphere anyway. What do you think? Please help 'cause I need to buy tickets right now!

This will be out first trip to WDW for the holidays and our first MVMCP.
We have tickets for the 18th (that i bought the day they went on sale!) for the same reason...that i didnt want to go the last night and fight the crowds.

Only now the 18th sold out!!! And now I am worried that it is going to be too crowded then!...I am wishing that i would have done it another night now!

So I would say go for it!
What do you have to lose...

...Hey ladies, don't give away all your secrets!!!

MICKEEP please don't take offense!!! It is all in good! But listen & learn how we think hehe

I have to admit I will certainly listen but, as a typical male, I will never learn. :rotfl:

I have gone the last two years on the 20th and I love it! It is not that crowded. I think the longest wait for a ride was around 15 minutes?

I'm going on the 20th (already have tickets...), and I'm setting myself up for the crowds (even though from what I've read, the party is not all that crowded). I mean, we'll be there the week before the busiest week of the year, so no matter what you do (eg. go to other parks, etc), it will be crowded. But at least MVMCP limits ticket numbers!

Has anyone seen a video of Holiday Wishes - not the 'rehearsal' but the real thing with the 360 fireworks? I'm going on Dec 20 but can't really wait till then!
Thanks!

Picture this.....................

Main Street USA is all aglow in it's true Holiday Splendor, visions of snowflakes are aglow on the front of each building, the most perfect Snow is falling, you are drinking your hot chocolate and eating your Christmas cookies and as you look onto Main Street all of the characters are there in thier Holiday Finest with all of your favorite Christmas music playing as the floats go by.

I don't know about the rest of you but the memories I have of this party each year with my family.....well wild horses couldn't keep me away let alone a crowd. You just have to go into the party with the expectaions of just soaking up the true MK Holiday Magic. If the atmosphere of being at Disney is your motivation for attending then you will be fine. If going to the party is a way for you to experience all of the MK without crowds at a cheaper price then this evening isn't for you. And since it seems that most of you on the DIS Board is as crazy about Disney as I am, well I guess I'll see ya there!!

A couple of quick notes from the 12/1 party last night..

Yes, they opened the gates at exactly 4:00. There are special gates for the party-goers, and a small line had actually formed waiting for them to open up.

At 6:00, I was in Tomorrowland and they shut *everything* down. Not just the rides and attractions, but the stores and restaurants too. All you could do was stand around and wait. They claimed things wouldn't open until 6:45, but things very quietly started opening up at 6:30. If you paid attention, Space Mountain, Buzz, etc. were walk on. But in general, it was pretty annoying. Hopefully things were better in Frontierland (everything was open from 6:00-7:00 when I was there during the Halloween party this year.)

Actually, good advice in general seemed to be stay out of Tomorrowland, and head to Frontierland. Tomorrowland was *packed* early on. Long, annoying lines for the free cocoa and cookies. Long lines at Cosmic Ray's (oh, and only the hamburger "pod" was open). Curious, I headed out to Fronterland, and sure enough, short lines for cookies, short "lines" (can you call one person ahead of you a line?) at Pecos Bill's. And, unlike Main Street (where people started camping out very early for the parade) you could get at least an OK spot to watch the parade even if you arrived near start time. (Of course, this could have been a quirk for that night, and things may be very different on other nights.)

For people asking about Belle, she was doing her story-telling thing at Fantasy Garden throughout the night. Note that this wasn't mentioned on the map, and there seemed to be more shows that the sign there indicated.

Great night overall - hope everyone has a great time!

Thansk for all the tips. This will be our first MVMCP...well our first ever trip to WDW so I'm trying to obsorb as much info as possible. I can't wait....

I'm leaving tomorrow 12/3 for our 10 day trip to the WDW and have been debating doing the Mickey Christmas Party thing. I just can't bring myself to pay close to an additional $120.00 (4 tix) for a few hours and some "free" hot coco.I think I can basically get the same experience on Sat 12/10 when the MK is open from 9am to midnight, only minus the "free" coco and picture. Wow, I can't believe it's time to go, been planning for almost 1 year now. Leaving from Newport News Virginia on Airtran, Wahooo! :cool1:

Steph

This makes me even more excited about going! Just being able to be there for my birthday and Christmas will be enough!

Just got back last night. Went to Nov 29 party. Had a great time.

I was a little disappointed that they only had 2 photo locations but the line went fast anyway. They should have put it on the map but didn't just as they didn't for MNSSHP this year so it caused some confusion.

FYI...they have a CD of Holiday Wishes. I got mine at World of Disney!! :goodvibes I sure wish they sold one for MNSSHP Hallowishes. :(

Great time had by all!
