I think we are hiring.

Ok, no big plans compared to last weekend. My den is still clean!!!! WOOHOO! But I have not scraped all week. I did go to the y this am. So six days again this week. I'm pretty impressed with myself (I was a couch potatoe six weeks ago!!!). Granted I haven't seen major improvements yet on the scale (or in the mirror) but I FEEL better and I have more energy, so those are two bonuses. I am getting together with my friends to scrap this afternoon (this is our weekly get together for a few hours on Saturdays). I do have to take my baby (Abbey, my pug) to the vet. She's diabetic and has to have her blood sugar checked. And the typical, I need to dust the house, get this 'junk' listed on ebay, laundry. My list always outnumbers the hours in the day. And what am I doing now, sitting here Dis-ing!!!

I hope everyone has a great weekend. It's georgous here today! Was 85 yesterday, looking to be close to that today and then BOOM back to spring!

My list is a continuation of last weekend. Hopefully I finally get this bedroom in shape. I noticed Chris's puppy working on another hole in the wall. :headache: It will be a trip to home depot today. The evil weed minnions are trying to gather another army in my landscapeing so I'll be battling them. Time to mow the front yard today as well. Yesterday I did manage to get the kitchen to sparkle and swept out the lanai. We also went for a nice long bike ride and saw a fox. Now Chris is determined that the little fox is lonely and needs our home to shelter him. He is coming up with all sorts of plans to let the little fox know we can be his new family. I think it is cute but I would be surprised if we see the little guy again (he also got a healthy lecture on rabies). The weather here is beautiful! We also are having a high of 85 and sun shiney days. Well, it is the sunshine state after all. We have to live up to our name! ;) Have a great weekend everyone!:)

I think we are hiring.

Dawn,

After our daughter did the college program this past fall, hubby and I decided we want to retire and go work for mickey. I know the pay is NOT good, but the benefits (going to the parks all the time is awesome). My daughter had a great time and so did we enjoying the benifits of a cast member discount to enjoy our very first Christmas trip!!! If only I could convince my son he needs to do that too. He has NO interest! What's up with that. I guess I messed up raising that one, lol.

Well everyone enjoy the weekend. I've done some work in the bedroom (rearranging, changing bedding, packing up more winter stuff), then the living room - dusting. For some reason NO ONE likes to dust in my house. They will run the vacuum (but no one moves the furniture except me!). Now it's down to start the laundry (hamper is overflowing AGAIN). I think there are bunnies in my hamper, I do not know where all these clothes come from.

Patricia, not only do the clothes multiply but what dimension do the socks go to? I started out with pairs and now I have just one with no mate! Ugh!
I, too, use to be a cast member many years ago. Chris was just a few months old at the time. It was GREAT! The benefits rocked! I loved going to the parks every chance I got! The pay wasn't enough to support us though so I have move on. :sad1: If I didn't need the pay, I'd go back in an second! Ok, break time over.

Guess what we are doing after the cruise????? Any ideas??? If you said DISNEY!!! You are right. I just booked us for three nights at Pop Century with free dining!!!! I am so excited. Of course I will have to buy our return tickets (thus throwing away the money we spent on the ones we were supposed to use on the 11th), but hubby wanted to do this and I waited and waited thinking of the money, but last night took a look again and said, when will we get back there (probably will be more than a year this time) so LET'S DO IT!!!!

Now, I havent' told him, but IF I can figure out a way to save up $1000 I want to do the Magic Kingdom photoshoot that they have for Walt Disney World brides (DFTW) and since we are renewing our vows on the cruise, I've been told we could do this too!

Of course I am NOT telling hubby that one and he has no idea about this thread (he peeked into my planning journal on the disney weddings thread and saw my dress and his matching shirt)... bad hubby!

Well I have to run, time to go scrap and have a little ME time.

Enjoy your day! Talk to you all soon.

I am SO jealous Patricia! I had been thinking of doing something like that but I just can't afford it this time around. :sad1: I hope you can save up your extra money! It sounds like a wonderful fun and romantic adventure!

What time is everyone have for their dining. I thought we were late (which is what I wanted since we have no kids this trip) but am on the main time. What is everyone elses time? Does anyone know if it's possible to get it changed to the later seating once we board? I've heard of people changing their rotations, but not sure about this.

Sorry Dawn, don't want you being jealous. I honestly don't know how we are going to 'afford' this other than Disney visa, but we'll only be celebrating our 25th once so I want it to be as romantic and fun as can be.

Any suggestions for my ADR (I completely forgot I need to make those until my 'in-person' work out buddy reminded me).

Patricia, You can try and change your time for dining when you board the cruise. I think I have read people doing this at guest services and also at wavebands on board the ship. I think you can even inquire about it when you check in. We have the main dining seating ourselves. Our family is use to eating dinner at 4pm and I think they might be gnawing on the bannisters if we had the later time.
Well, if you had the money to spend, I'd suggest Victoria and Alberts for your romantic meal. Next suggestion would be California Grill.....try to get an ADR for the time of the Magic Kingdom fireworks. You can see them from there. Maybe do a dinner show like the luau or hoop de doo? There are so many good places to eat that I'm sure you'll love where ever you are. :) I'm very happy you'll be able to spend time at WDW. Although, I can't afford a package, I was thinking of taking the kids to Mickey's Not so Scarey Halloween Party on the 12th. That is usually how we see the parks for an affordable price. Plus dressing up would be fun. :) Don't mind me being jealous. We live here so going to WDW isn't impossible for us.....but no matter how many times we go it is never enough. :) :wizard:
I started on my room but then my mom came over yesterday and today and keeps kidnapping me to help her with the landscaping. We got all the old mulch up and she is pulling weeds. I went to home depot and got new mulch and landscaping edgeing. I needed to mow the front lawn but it rained so I'll have to hold off on that. I got clothes washed and put away and the holes fixed in the wall (until our lab/ shar pei mix decides to chew on the wall again). It has been a busy and exhausting weekend thus far. I need another day off just to rest! hehe Have a great Sunday everyone!

Dawn,

I am looking into the California Grill, thanks for the suggestion.

I wasn't sure I'd be able to get home after work tonight but I did. The creek near us was almost to flood level when I left home. Is it storming in Delaware, Patty? It's been raining cats and dogs since sometime last night here.

I'm thanking God the rain didn't start until sometime in the night Saturday. We spent all day Saturday delivering the bags of Boy Scout mulch. We wound up selling 349 bags. It was truly a family project this time. To get all the mulch delivered in one day, we used both the van (without the back seats) and the truck. Everyone in the family helped load and unload.

Today was just church, housework, and then I went to work for a few hours. I'm going to bed now, though.

Everyone have a good Monday. Oh, I got mail from DCL but haven't had time to read it. I think I'll take it to bed and read it.

Monica,

Oh my, that's not good. We had a georgous Sunday. It clouded over several time and started to sprinkle right around dinner time, but never amounted to anything. We have a creek near our home which we gage the rain by (just personally, not the weathermen, lol). When it's storming real bad, we keep an eye as it gets closer to the road (it runs under the road in several places). Hubby said we are supposed to be getting raiin today.

Well I better get going to the Y and work. Hope you all have a good Monday.

I teach Contract Law and Tort Law to first and second year university students :) I'm also in the process of trying to write my PhD, although WDW/DCL planning sometimes gets in the way ;)

I love Blackpool Pleasure Beach, I've been going there since I was small. It has a lot of classic wooden coasters and lots of old rides, as well as some new ones like the Pepsi Max:Big One which is the tallest, fastest, steepest coaster in Europe.

Good to hear from you Hayley. You must be very dedicated to teach those subjects! That park sounds amazing. I love coasters, hubby has only starting liking them.

I forgot to quote on that one! I think I answered something a few pages back! My PhD specialism is marine salvage, specialising in the Titanic... so reading Titanic-related texts before the cruise won't be such a good idea

Patricia, we are on the Main Dining too :) I chose that as I didn't want to be eating too late, and I wanted to see the shows after dinner. Hopefully we will be seated with other couples and not families!

I'll probably book Palo for Nassau day and hope we get the APPT rotation: I don't want to miss any of the restaurants, I want to do the first dining at AP so we can see the 'show', and I want to be at PC for Pirates Night. Is that fussy? I'll be booking the Palo brunch too.

My parents' 25th wedding anniversary is also in September! They haven't been on vacation in the last 7 years, and they've only been on vacation abroad twice since I was born... 22 years ago! We've been quite a few times to Blackpool as I was mentioning, but when you live in the UK, you really need to go abroad for a vacation! Knowing they've been wanting to go for ages, and since it's their anniversary, I saved up really hard and am sending them to Playa del Carmen in Mexico for 2 weeks, 5* AI at the Riu Playacar on Sept 30th. They are sooo psyched! I kept it a secret until Xmas day and they were so shocked when I told them! Mexico is a 10 hour flight from the UK and they've never been long-haul before which will be an adventure! (Preparation for the flight to Florida for our wedding maybe?)

Sorry! That was a bit off topic!

What is everyone doing Nassau day? I was planning on doing the Aquaventure (with the promotion that was posted on the board a while back) but then I thought, the cruise is costing a lot of money and we aren't going to get to see the ship a lot. So I'm just going to book the Discover Atlantis (or whatever it's called) as I really want to see the place, and then head back to the Wonder for lunch and the rest of the afternoon.

Are you dressing up for Pirate Night?

Also, we will most likely be at the Sept 5th MNSSHP if anyone is going?!

Those are my 100 questions for tonight ;)

Got an email from the DFTW coordinator for DCL and she said that our ceremony will NOT be held on the Sea Day, but will be either 4:30 or 5:30 on the day we are docked at Nassau. I am actually very excited about this change!!! :cool1: :cool1: With the day at sea scheduling, that meant our ceremony would be the evening before we leave the ship. All photos taken that night, who knows, but we would be scramming to pick out which ones we wanted printed. I had read a TR before and they got married on the Nassau day and I am so excited.

Hayley,

Our coordinator has a note into dining to change us to the later seating, but she said they don't do anything until 30 days out. I was thinking the same thing though if we have the early seating, hopefully we'll be with other couples.

Now that our ceremony has been changed to the Nassau day, we will be eating at Palo that night also.

I think it's awesome what you are doing for your parents anniversary. My kids arent' that 'giving', lol, but they do love me, so I can't complain.

As for Nassau, we are maybe just doing a walking tour (and some sightseeing) especially since our ceremony is now that afternoon.

I don't think we'll dress for Pirate night as we dont' have anything to dress in, so we'll be one of the many with just the bandana.

We did MNSSHP last October and had a ball (unfortunately, it rained, but we still had so much fun).

Ok, I think I got all your questions answered for us.

Have a good evening. Actually it's tomorrow over there (I think) so have a good day.

Monica, glad you made it home safe! :goodvibes We didn't have a flood but we did have police and a search helicopter welcome us home today. :scared1: I have NO idea what that was about. 4 months ago we came home to the same thing only to find out a man who lives two streets over from us had kidnapped a mother out of her home. They found her murdered two days later about a mile from our home. :sad1: It is days like this I'm thankful for two giant dogs!

Patricia, how is the 5k coming along? I'm glad to hear things are working out the better for your vow renewel. From what I have read, Disney does try to seat couples together and familes w/ children together. I am really hoping my Chase will be ok. He does well with a nap but I just know he is going to be way to excited to nap. Then cranky Chase emerges. Cranky Chase isn't any fun at all and makes mommy wish she had the food Alice in Wonderland ate to make her smaller. I am hoping I can get my mom and her boyfriend into Palo on Nassau night too.

Hayley, I think that is awesome that you teach about the Titanic. I LOVE history! My eldest son just learned about the Titanic at school. I thought it was really cool how his teacher taught it. She had all the kids split up between first, second, and third class and had them dress up accordingly. She made a titanic ship by using chairs and paper. The kids boarded with a passport she had made up for them...and their passports got stamped. They sent post cards to their family and they had high tea (lemonade) and scones. I thought that was a fun and intelligent way to teach that bit of history to the kids. What a great way to remember that event! I also think it is incrediable what you are doing for your parents! How great for them! A few years back my brother and I surprised my mom for her 70th birthday and took her to Purteo Rico. She had NO idea. We told her what temperture to pack for and that was it. She didn't even know I was coming with her. She thought I was just taking her to the airport but when we got to the parking I took out my suitcase with hers and she screamed. We then met my brother in the airport.....she didn't know he was there until he walked up to the gate. We kept telling her we were just flying to Ft Lauderdale. :rotfl: She knew better though and kept looking at the airline guide to see everywhere they flew. When we got off to connect we finally let her read the board as to where we were going. She was so excited and we all had a great time. I think she was more excited that my brother, myself, and she were all vacationing together. That NEVER happens and it meant the world to her. I can only imagine how special you have made your parents annivesary!:wizard:
I'm still working on what we are doing for Nassau. I think we will visit the Pirate Museum and possibly the straw market. I would love to go to the fort and the queens stair case but I think the kids would be bored. We have discussed taking a historic tour via horse drawn carriage. Then we will be back on board to enjoy the ship by lunch!

Well I finally got my room done. :woohoo: I had to live up to Patricia's example! hehe I also got lots of landscaping done. If I were technologically savy enough to own a digital camera I'd share pictures but alas I'm still in the dark ages with my 35mm.:sad2:

I hope everyone had a great Monday and I hope you all have an even better Tuesday!

Dawn,

Thanks for the info on the seating. I remember those cranky days all to well! Hey, my youngest is 17 and he's cranky right now!!! :lmao: Sorry.

I have decided I am not going to do a 5k this week since I didn't realize how different the eliptical and the real running were. Here I thought I was doing great, but with the eliptical there is no 'strain' like when you actually run/jog. So today, I officially started training for a 5k in June. I am doing the couch to 5k program. You go from no exercise to being able to do a 5k in eight weeks. I have two friends doing this with me, so hopefully that will keep me motivated.

Hope there was no real problem with the helicopter this time. That's got to be scary.

Well everyone have a good evening.

Dh isn't really crazy about Pirate night. I doubt we'll dress up. On the other hand, once dh has had a couple beers, he'll wear the bandanna and even an eye patch if I give him one. LOL.

We're not sure about our Palo plans. When we cruise with the kids, we book two room, and therefore are entitled to two Palo reservations. There's no issue of whether to book brunch or dinner. This time, there's only the two of us. Hard decision- brunch or dinner :confused3 .

As for Nassau, our plan is to do a walking tour then go to Crystal City for a little while. Maybe, we'll look around the Straw Market before getting back on the ship.

We got our DCL information in the mail. I still haven't opened it. I'll read it before I go to bed, which I intend to do as soon as I'm done typing this. I know I sound like a broken record, but I'm so tired. This time it isn't from working late or window-rattling thunderstorms. It's our rooster's fault. We brought him inside Sunday night. My friend, who's a vet, offered to trim his spurs. She said it would be easier if he was contained when she got here. So, Sunday night, while he was sleeping, we put him in a cage and brought him inside and put him in the laundry room. Since he never seemed to crow especially loud when hearing him outside, I thought shutting the door would be good enough to muffle his early morning crowing. NOT!

The other reason I"m so tired is because the dosing cup on the generic Benydril is stupid! Well, it is or I am. I took as much as I think I was supposed to but talk about dry mouth and fuzzy head. On the bright side, my cold symptoms have abated and I'm sure I'll be able to sleep. Possibly until next Tuesday. ;)

By the way, I finally called my mom to ask her if she would like to watch the kids while we are on our cruise. I figured she'd be thrilled and she is.

Goodnight, all. Or in Hayley's case, good morning!

You never know, you might be sat with us !! And we will surely see you in Palo so I can give my congratulations!!

We did PPP last August and the party because notorious as there was such a bad storm. A lot of the things and events were cancelled, but we tried to make our own fun, and in the end, they did do the parade and fireworks very late, and we were first in line to meet Jack Sparrow, so I can't complain! Since a lot of people had turned their tickets in for another night, it was so quiet in MK - great!! However, I'm still hoping we have better luck with the weather at MNSSHP - I'm so excited for it! We have an ADR at Citrico's that night, so I need to change that around with our LTT or TTS ADR :goodvibes

Me and DBF will probably dress up like Jack Skellington and Ragdoll Sally for MNSSHP - I have seen the costumes I want already :thumbsup2 We both love NBC so that will be perfect!

I'm not sure what to do for Pirate Night either. To PPP, I wore a banada with dreads I had made in the store near the POTC ride, a raggedy pirate looking skirt, and a t-shirt with a photo of Capt. Jack that stated 'My Boyfriend is a Pirate'... and of course I had dressed up Pal Mickey in his pirate outfit pirate: ! I'm not sure whether to just go with that on DCL or go all out and buy a pirate outfit :confused3

I'm glad you had fun at MNSSHP! I can't wait! I'm so happy it's early this year!

I wish I was allowed to teach about the Titanic properly!! I could talk about it all day! On top of that I wish I could teach university students using that method... that would be so cool!!! But I am lucky in that I get to indulge and write my PhD thesis about it!

My parents are so excited!! I think my only wish would be to go with them and see their faces! The farthest they have been are the Canary Islands (about 3hrs or so from the UK), and they can't comprehend that they are going AI and everything will be free :rotfl: Me and DBF will be taking them to the airport hotel the night before, and I am also booking the Executive Lounge for them before their flight as we love it and think it's so relaxing, esp. before long haul! Telling them was the best thing about Xmas Day, my mam nearly burnt the turkey she was so shocked

I think enjoying the afternoon on the ship will be very relaxing and I'm looking forward to it! The only thing I would like is a Bahamas stamp on my passport! We only get a stamp if we fly out of the EU, so at the moment, I have a stamp from Turkey, and a stamp from the USA - I'd love a Bahamas stamp!

Brunch AND Dinner! Are you allowed to book 2 Palo reservations if you pay the $10 per head towards them? I really hope so! We are hoping on doing both brunch and dinner - we have the Romance at Sea package so I'm not sure if that makes any difference?!

Oh, and good afternoon! It's 12.50pm over here now!
