We are going to have a cold front come through Sunday/Monday. Lows in the low 50's (chilly) and highs in the low 70's (comfortable). I actually don't mind it being cold or chilly....it is certainly a welcome break from the heat.....the only thing I hate is that it only lasts for a day or two and then it is hot again. It is a little hard on the system to be 40/60 one day and the next be 60/80. :guilty:

On tomorrows agenda I need to get the back yard mowed....the weeds are building an army back there. I'm soppose to go to my son's teacher's baby shower but I really don't feel like making the hour drive to do it. Is that wrong? Chris also has his boyscout fundraiser for an hour at 5pm. Not sure how I'll entertain the baby for an hour at the grocery store. :confused3 Then, hopefully, sometime in there I can squeek in getting my bedroom taken care of that I still haven't done. :rolleyes1 Oh yeah, then I have laundry so none of us have to go to school/work either naked or smelly. :scared:  Have a great Sunday everyone!

Patricia, your my inspiration. :cheer2:

We've been fortunate to have a couple beautiful days (highs near or just above 70) but today, I think it's back to the 50's so it will be a shocker to the system. So many people have been sick and I think it's the constant up and down with the temps. You never know how to dress some days.

As for today, have church in a few hours (my body is so use to getting up to work out that I am pretty much up for the day). I even thought about going for a run, but I really think I need to take a break. I did go workout yesterday before my mad cleaning frenzy. So, I figure, I'm due for a day of rest (from the gym), of course after church, it's time to switch more of those clothes out (even though I'll be cold, I'll be ready later in the week when it's warmer, lol). Then I need to make a trip to my moms (about 1/2 hour away) to drop off the winter clothes (we dont' have any storage in our house, due to all the junk I still need to get rid of). Mom needs her hair trimmed, my dad needs me to look at his computer so I need to be a good daughter and help out with those things).

I hope you all have a great Sunday.

MAWHAHAHA...The weed army has been destroyed! Take that evil weeds. You are no match for my lawn mower....remember that the next time you try to take over! Ok, so I got my back yard done and didn't kill myself doing it....that is always a plus.
We just got back from the cub scout fundraiser. Chris earned another patch and they made a decent amount of money. I came home to find my cat limping. I don't know what that is about but I'm quite concerned. I saw some teenagers standing in front of my home and looking towards my house. When I drove up they walked on and I'm sincerely hopeing they didn't do something mean to my kitty. I've trapped him in the house so he can't wonder outside and I'm keeping an eye on him. :sad2: My mother came up with the brilliant idea years ago that my cats needed to be able to roam outside. My house is only one of two on our street so there isn't much traffic. There is a bobcat in the area...and our house is part of his territory. In fact, we saw him cross the road in front of us yesterday as we were bike riding. I figured if he hasn't caused trouble in the 5 years we have been here then I don't expect him to start. I started taking care of a stray cat about a year ago and he really has grown into part of the family. I guess you can say I have three cats......three cats that I really hate being outside but there is just no argueing with mother. I have a neighbor down the next street over who had one of their cats shot with a bebe. How can people be so mean? It makes me furious! Ok, sorry about my tangent.
I still didn't get my room done. I guess we will have to add that to next weekends list.....again. :rolleyes1
I hope everyone is having a good Sunday. Back to the grind tomorrow. At least it will be one day closer to the cruise. :thumbsup2 Have a great Monday everyone!:grouphug:

Hi, Guys. You two have been productive this weekend. What a good sunshiney day Saturday was.

I told Patty (in my excuse as to why I didn't exercise) how I was downstairs most of Saturday helping my husband prepare the empty apartment for a prospective tenant. I thought it was ready, but he decided it was better for our future tenants to have a washer and dryer in the apartment instead of across the hall in our basement. So, he goes ahead and installs a 220 volt electrical line and outlet, runs plumbing, and hooks up the dryer vent (always a mystery to me). I don't know what other men are capable of, but I am not just in awe of his practical skills but the fact that he takes on these projects as if it were no more than deciding to wash his car.

Meanwhile, I washed the mini-blinds and worked on the refrigerator. He had decided that since our refrigerator is white but our stove is black, we should swap refrigerators with the one downstairs which has the opposite combination. I didn't realize how much our frig needed cleaning until I removed all the items in it.

Today, we went to church, and later I babysat. Warren mowed the grass, took a break to fix the tractor, and finished mowing the grass, I think. I just got home a little while ago. Our homeschool co-op volunteers to babysit when the church where we meet has a parents only event.

Dawn, my sons are Scouts, too. Spencer is a Webelo 2 and is bridging next week into Boy Scouts. William is a Boy Scout, I forget what class. William has been collecting mulch orders for the troop's fund raiser. So far, he's sold 340 bags. I pity him next weekend when he and his dad make the deliveries. William gets a dollar from each bag he sells put in his Scout account. With summer camp this year and Philmont next year, every bag helps.

Dawn, I'm guessing those teens found the limping cat to be a spectacle and were not near the house because they injured the cat. Are they the kind of kids you'd suspect of mutilating a cat? We have coyotes and other predators around here. The farmers can go years without a slaying and then out of the blue, my neighbor's two newborn lambs are killed. We haven't lost any chickens yet, but I'm sure we are on borrowed time. We have barn cats in our barn. They're not our pets, and I think they're feral to be honest. I've never seen them hop the fence of the chicken yard, and I know they can jump that high if they wanted to. Next month, hopefully, we'll have chicks. I wouldn't put it past the cats to go after them.

Because Patty is such an inspiring workout buddy, I might go to bed early so I can rise earlier tomorrow and get an hour in my "gym" before going out for the day on our many errands.

Can you tell by the title what this is about!????!!! My very loving husband decided to make homemade cheesecake today!!!! I've been doing so good! How could he do this to me!??? I LOVE cheesecake! Needless to say I had a little piece tonight for a snack! I told him to take some to work, it can't sit here and call my name to the fridge all night! I've been doing so well. I worked out six days this past week (only skipping today). I don't want to eat it, but my will power sucks sometimes! :sad2:

Dawn,

Good job getting that lawn done. I know there just are not enough hours in the weekend to get everything done that I want to. I told another friend I am going to TRY tomake a list of things I want to get done and try to do one each day when I get home. I normally get home around 3:30 and hubby does not get home until 6:00 so that does give me time, but I end up sitting down and boy do I get tired then.

Monica, I wouldn't accuse those kids of doing something to Milo....I just sure hope that wouldn't be the case. I honestly don't know what happened to him. He was still hurting this morning so I locked him in my son's room with food, water, and his litter pan so he wouldn't roam outside. I'll keep an eye on him and if it doesn't get better I'll have to take him into the vet. I felt his foot and didn't feel any stickers in it. He was moving it to try and keep it away from me so I know it isn't broken. It is just a mystery.
Your story about the coytoes reminded me of the best way to get rid of coytoes. Get a wolf! I had a wolf named Mystic. My friends parents were having trouble with the coyotes chasing their cows. I took Mystic over one evening. I heard the coyotes howl....they sounded like they were right at the edge of the property line. Mystic then howled in return. Coyotes are afraid of wolfs. A few minutes passed when the coyotes howled again.....only this time they were MUCH farther away. :lmao: They never did hear those coyotes again.
It sounds like we all had a very busy weekend. Patricia, I know it is hard to have willpower when our favorite things are in front of us. The best I can do is tell myself I don't want it (not that I can't have it) and ask myself if it is going to be worth having to do all the hard work I just did over again. A small piece doesn't hurt either. :) Sometimes this works sometimes it doesn't. I am fortunate enough to work in a place that gets food catered in daily. Today we had pizza, salad, and chocolate cake and peanut butter cookies. I'm not even going to tell you what I consumed :sad2: Oh well, tomorrow is another day....and another day closer to our cruise!:cloud9:

Oh, Dawn, I would die if I had catered lunch every day... boy lunch sounded so yummy at your work. I can do to Dunkin Donuts and NOT buy anything extra, (I used to always get their muffins or coffee rolls, yummy but extra fat!). I have ice cream sitting in the freezer here I am not eating that, but darn that cheesecake is calling me to the fridge!!!! :confused3

Patricia....imagine an all you can eat buffet for free. That is my work. It is VERY hard to say no many times for me. I have one of my doctors looking out for me. The other day he thought I was eating a candy bar and grabbed it out of my hand. He started to throw it way until he realized I was eating a cereal bar. :rotfl2: Another one of my doctors hit me over the head when I ate a cookie. :rotfl: At least I have people that care about my progress as much as I do. :) As I said before.....your my inspiration. Seeing you and Monica keep on track helps me to focus also. :cheer2:
Well I got home two hours after I normally do. We had a forest fire that closed the interstate. I really love my hour commute except for when there are forest fires. hehe
Milo seems to be doing better. He is walking without a limp but he isn't coming out of Chase's room. That part has me worried because he is not a lay about kitty. He is getting pampered though. He has a bed all to himself and food and water right next to him. My pets are my babies too. :)
Monica, how long have your boys been in boy scouts? Chris just started this year. He is a bear. We live in a very rural community and there are not any kids in our neighborhood that are his age. I figured it would be a great way for him to make friends in our city. Not to mention the boy scouts are just a wonderful organization. I also feel kind of obligated to join since our family is related to Sir Badon Powell. hehe ;) I seem to be learning as much as Chris. We went camping for the first time this year and I'm quite proud of myself that I can set up a tent. :) I can't wait to try it out at Fort Wilderness some time. I was also sort of hopeing that Chris could hang out with some men folk but our troop is mostly run by women....funny enough. Chris gets really depressed that everyone has a dad but him to do things with. I try to do as much as I can to fix that problem. He is signed up with big brothers big sisters. He was on a waiting list for four years before he got his first match. He had a couple and they were wonderful but then the wife got pregnant and they had to end their relationship before a year was up. Now he is back on the waiting list. I try to make things very special for him (like the cruise) but I can never replace his dad. I've explained this situation to his dad but he doesn't seem to do much to help the situation. He calls Chris on his birthday and at Christmas and for the most part that is it. :sad2: He did try to call Chris for a couple of weeks but kept missing him. I'd have to force Chris to call him back. Think he is getting bitter? I'm trying hard to fly Chris out to his dads for a week this summer but his father won't call me and confirm the dates we can come out. He has only known about this since December! Ugh!
Ok, so now that I have whined and depressed everyone........I need to go be a good mommy and help Christopher with his projects. Sometimes I feel like I'm the one who has homework.
How many more days Patricia? I'm SOOOOOO excited I can't stand it! :mickeyjum

Oh, Dawn, 144 Days!!!!  :cool1: :cool1:

I cannot imagine working where you do, I'd be even bigger. I did good and did NOT bring cheesecake to have with my lunch today. I figure those couple pounds I lost and so quickly put back on are not worth that much enjoyment (gone in minutes, lol). I am so into working out now, trying to build up my time on the eliptical so I can attempt a 5k with my daughter this summer. I am at 1.5 miles!! I had only been doing 1 mile each day, and then my workout, but upped that to 1.25 yesterday and 1.5 today and it's not bad, once you get past the mile mark, seems to be easier.

I LOVE chick filet!!!! Haven't had that in a while... Now, I am sitting here eating my yummy salad and checking out the races online to see if I can work up to a 5k in the next week or two (I did 1.5 miles this am) and want to do a 5k! I am going to push this one and see what I can do. May go back to the y tonight to just work on running/jogging (I really don't run, lol). There are so many local ones that I did not even know about.. so I am checking these out, trying to figure out how much I'll have to increase each day to do it. I'll keep youposted on that end. As for Milo, so glad he's doing better. My daughter LOVED Milo & Otis. We watched that soo many times (pug lovers in our house, lol) and we had a cat at the time too. Keep being good Dawn. :cheer2:

Ok.....I had three cookies at lunch today. When you break the cookies the calories fall out, right? :rolleyes1
I think that is a great goal Patricia! I'll be rooting for you the whole time! I have never been a runner. I have always wanted to but my knees always hurt so bad when I'm done. I really like riding my bike. Speed....I was built for speed. :lmao: I hope the boys and I can ride our bikes when we get home today. It is cold by FL standards.....40's low/ 60's high and very cloudy. According to the radar though, no rain. As long as it stays that way....and no more forest fires.....we'll do our bike ride tonight. :thumbsup2
My friend at work is leaving for a cruise after work today. Two weeks in Hawaii! :cloud9: I'm jealous:guilty: ......still counting down till September.

I've heard that before, like the broken chips in the bottom of the bag, :rotfl: :lmao: No calories!!!

Thanks for the encouragement Dawn. I think it is helping me, by being accountable to several people that I want to keep doing this (and for me too). I now have two different 'in-person' friends who I work out with, but they are not always there, due to different schedules. I don't let that stop me and I keep going. Then I have Monica online keeping me accountable and I have you cheering me on. Thanks so much. :cutie:

I got a disney cruise package in the mail today.....with all the need to knows and help to plans. :woohoo: I had to convince Chris it was just mail and not a package though. No, Chris....that isn't a package....looks like a package...but really it is just junk mail. :lmao: Now I'm trying to read it...hiding it with my computer (so he thinks I'm playing on the computer) and praying he doesn't come over here.....I'm acting nonchalant. :rolleyes1
This is so much fun!:cloud9:

Hi, ladies. I'm too tired to write much. Just checking in. I will be out most of tomorrow and I'm working tomorrow night. Really glad to hear Milo's on the mend. I love cats. Dh doesn't. He'd let me get them if I really wanted them. We had two a while back. One disappeared when inlaws left our front door open for too long. The other died about 5 years ago. I'm happy with chickens. Of course, you can't have one of those curl up on your lap or keep your feet warm while you're on the computer, and you definitely can't litter train them!

Thanks for the well wishes guys...great to know I'm going on a cruise with a bunch of such nice people on board :) I'm sorry I haven't been around much, but I plan on being around a whole lot more now that I'm teaching my last class today til October - woohoo!! :teeth:

Hayley....no apologizes neccessary! I always look forward to you chimeing in. :)

Patricia, today was Olive Garden. Olive Garden! Is there ANYTHING you can eat at Olive Garden without gaining 1/2 a million pounds? I had the salad and that was the end of my good streak. Those breadsticks were just calling my name....."Dawn, Dawn....look at how yummy we are in our little bag". So I took two....but then there was one left in the bag and I just COULDN'T leave it in the dark little bag by itself....so I had three. Then there was the tsermusi (sp?). I did only have one little piece of that......then another bread stick because THAT bag looked to full. :rotfl2: I'm so grateful we have catered food but it makes it VERY hard on the will power....especially when you are hungry and feel like you could take on a whole buffet single handedly! I will say I RAN four flights of stairs when I was done and promptly thought I was going to pass out. I hope you have better luck with the cheesecake!

Oh my goodness Dawn, I was dying reading your post. So funny... :rotfl: I can completely relate!

On a good note though, I posted yesterday (at least I think i did, lol) that I want to do a 5k with my daughter (like in ONE week). Well last night I went to the gym and did 1.75 miles (had done 1.25 or 1.5 in the morning, don't remember now, sorry) than I did another .75 miles on the treadmill. This am I did 2.25 miles!!! I can do this!!!! Even if I kill myself in the meantime. I did have one piece of cheesecake last night for a snack, but then the scale inched up some more today so NO MORE!!! I am not eating any cheesecake until the cruise. This weight has got to come off. Dawn, I would never survive at your job, I'd be way bigger than I already am.

I got a disney cruise package in the mail today

Dawn,

Was this the regular cruise info packet you can request? Or is this something I should be lookign for?

I'm sorry I haven't been around much, but I plan on being around a whole lot more now that I'm teaching my last class today til October - woohoo!! :teeth:

Hayley,

Glad to hear you'll be around more. What's the weather like over on your side of the Atlantic?
