Mickey's Halloween Treat-any reviews???

We will be there on the 18th too. I need to get costumes for the boys still. I got a Peter Pan costume for one, but now he says he wants to be Captain Hook. So I have to see if I can exchange it w/out a receipt.

We're going on Halloween night. Should be a great time for our little boys!:cool1:

DS 8 is going as a Ghost Pirate.
DS 6 is going as a Red Power Ranger.

DH is wearing a Grumpy t-shirt that says "Born Bad!"
I'm wearing a Grumpy t-shirt that says "I Love (heart) Bad Boys!"

My sisters and I went last night for the first time. It was really fun and we had a great time! The best blockparty DJ was in the Hollywood Backlot area (across from Monter's Inc). They had the best music and we danced with Mr. Incredible, Buzz, Woody, Sully and Mr. Freeze. Mrs. Incredible was there too. :goodvibes

31st for us as well. Hope there is some candy left. If not there will be three pirates looking for some other kind of loot!

Anybody been to the Screams show yet this year. Got terrible reviews last year and I hope they did something to improve it.

I'm also interested in what they do to the ToT. The Disneyland site mentions changes for Halloween. Doubt it's as big of a deal as the Haunted Mansion Holiday, but it would be cool to know if it's worth going out of our way to see what they do for those nights.

See you there on the 31st!:thumbsup2

I believe the TOT has very LOUD thunder and flashes of lightning all around it, as well as projections of bats flying by. Very spooky!:scared1:

We are going on the 31st too. Cant wait love reading all the reviews but we need pics too. It adds to all the excitment.:cutie: Cant wait. cant wait, need to sleep, must sleep..............oh to excited!:surfweb:

fyi parents, please be fun and wear a costume...

the "Oh, im wearing my mommy costume" or "Oh, im wearing my daddy costume" just doesnt cut it :P

Does anyone know if there will be showing of Aladin, Bugs Life, Or playhouse Disney during the part?

Also if the kids get candy do I need to bring a bag to put it in or do they provide it?
Thanks.
Jen

There's no shows during the party. Not even Turtle Talk this year. They do supply bags, but they are pretty small this year - about the size of a lunch sack. They are plastic and fairly strong, though.

For those that have been - do you need to wear a coat to keep warm??

All 4 of us are dressing up - we plan to leave our "mommy" and daddy costumes" at the hotel!!!

We went Friday and had a great time, we only got to tour half the park as the kids had a blast dancing in a couple of the dance areas. Rode a few rides just had a really good time.

Something disturbing that I thought Disney CMs should of stopped was one older man was dressed in a KKK costume :sad2: . It was a KKK costume, he even had a white power tshirt underneath that was clearly legible on his back.

I'm surprised he even got through the gates dressed like that, unless he waited until he got in to put it on.

wow that's really sad. I would have said something. I mean that is REALLY disturbing.:sad2: Disney is really carful about things like that. & they have the warnings that say that all costumes have to be children friendly & anything offensive would be asked out.

We (my 5 yo DD, dressed as Ming-Ming Duckling from the Wonder Pets, 2 yo DD, dressed as Squirt, my sister, dressed in Elizabeth Swann gear and I, in street clothes) went to the Oct 4 Party. We went in 15 minutes before the party officially started and got our treatbags which had Pirates on one side and Ratatouille on the other. They were not the shopping bag size of last year but the same size of the bags we had gotten last year at MNSSHP at MK. Certain areas eg Condor Flats were roped off until the officially 6:30 start time. We headed over towards the area to meet Mickey and Minnie. We were maybe 4th in line and my DD had their picture taken with them. The lines to meet characters were rather short at the beginning of the party as we kinda hopped around and had pictures with Donald, Goofy, and Co. I don't what the lines were like towards the end of the evening but I know last year when we went it was a tremendously long line to meet Mickey and Minnie and we got to the party late.
The candy selection was nice. I didn't really try to collect any until I saw they were giving out bags of Kissables, the size you normally get at the checkout stand. I couldn't resist and then after that, I couldn't stop. :rotfl: I'm munching on some Kissables as I type now. Candy that we got: Tootsie Rolls, Lemon Heads, Dots, Laffy Taffy, Clark, Butter finger, Sixlets, Smarties, Tootsie Roll Pops, Toxic Waste (?), Snickers, Now N Laters. Healthy Snacks: Apple slices, carrot sticks, Organic Fruit Leather, Boxes of Raisins with the Cars characters on them. The treat trails were high yield for candy.
The girls played the Pirate games and got a Pirates bookmark and cute tatoos featuring the MM Clubhouse characters in Halloween costumes, a plug for the DVD. They had fun coloring paper masks featuring Mickey Jack O Lantern and Mickey Pirate. Peter Pan and Wendy came by and colored masks as well. They colored with the other kids at the tables. The girls also played a couple of the board walk games and got a few pieces of candy for that.
We didn't go on too many rides but the ones we did were short waits. We went on the Sun wheel and Soarin'. We waited 5 minutes top for both.
Towards the end of the night, 2 yo DD had crashed in the stroller and we decided to watch the parade. That night it was slated to start at 9:30. We sat down at 9:30 at the front of the park and waited for half an hour for it to make its way to us. When we sat down, there were hardly any people waiting for the parade. The parade is much smaller and shorter than MNSSHP's. 5 yo DD kept asking if candy was going to be handed out during the parade like at MNSSHP, but they did not. However, she still had a blast because the float stopped right in front of us, one of the dancers invited DD over to dance with a few other children and they all danced together with Flik. At one point Flik held DD hands and danced with her. She had a blast as she loves character interaction. Last year we spent most of MNSSHP at Cosmic Ray's at the dance party with the characters. When the parade was over, DD received a pin with Mickey's Halloween Treat on it. She had so much fun she wanted to do it again the next night. By the time the parade was over, the party was pretty much over and we decided to go back to our hotel. I think it might have been better to pick a spot earlier on the parade route and then you might have a little time to do a few more things before the party ended. I'm sorry if this is too much in detail. It's the first time I've posted a report but I've always learned a lot reading others post.

Actually my brother did tell a CM, we didn't stick around to see what happened. Didn't want to waste our party time on someone else's ignorance

Don't be sorry!!! I loved reading your report!
I'm one of those people who can't go, so I have to live vicariously through you!! I hope next year to bring my GS's, so it's nice to know what to expect.

And the guy who dressed up as KKK. That is awful!! I would have been sooooooo upset to see that. :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: I do hope that he was asked to take it off, or leave!!!!!!
