Mickey's Halloween Treat-any reviews???

These reports are great to hear as we will be there on the 30th! I love butterfingers... :)

Does anybody have pictures of the treat bags? I'd like to have a better idea of how big (or small) they are.

They're about the size of a paper bag, though a little wider than that. Maybe more the size of a fast food bag. They are made of plastic and not paper, though...mine was pretty full, and it seemed plenty sturdy - it was heavier-weight plastic than the merchandise bags they use at DL.

We had a blast last year. My dd and I were both Minnie and my DH and other DD were Pirates. We are not going this year becasue the 3 hour time difference is a challenge for them to stay awake. It is very fun though.

Had in incredible time at Mickey's Halloween Treat with DW and 4-year-old DS as SD* last night. After 8 hours at DL, we arrived at DCA just before 6:25 and front gates were already open. Started to head to towards Paradise Pier and made it to the rope right before they dropped it at 6:30. Made a beeline towards Paradise Pier (normal speed) and hit at least four treat stops on the way (no line at all). Our bags were probably half-full by 6:45. I couldn't find any reason to wait in a treat line - whenever I saw a long line later in the evening, I would walk another 20 yards and see another station with no line. Animation Building treat trail was especially fun (and not crowded) - did that around 9pm.

First to arrive at the Boardwalk games - played all three of them numerous times (they all gave out a sour fruit bar as prizes - we had so many we gave most of them to other kids). As far as I could tell, all rides except Maliboomer were open (all shows closed). Walked on to Screamin', Sun Wheel, Golden Zephyr, Jumpin' Jellyfish. The back of the park was beautiful and serene for the first hour or so, with no lines for photo ops (lines were much longer later). Headed to Pirate Wharf around 8 - all the crafts were gone by that point. Bug's Land was crowded at 8:30 and waited ~15 minutes each for Chew-Chew and Tuck & Roll (those rides seemed understaffed... or staffed by the wrong person).

The candy? I may be in the minority, but I didn't really care what they had. Not having great candy keeps me on my diet. DS likes the actual getting of the treats more than eating them. All stations have a "healthy alternative" available, and I was happy to get the apple slices, carrots, and flat fruit (all of which were pretty yummy). At one point DS asked me for a "chocolate item", and I said, "I guess that means that I can eat the apple slices..." As soon as I ate one, he said, "Hey! Those are MY apples!" and he proceeded to happily eat the whole bag (okay, he also had a bag of Kissables later in the evening).

Lots of characters, great entertainment (especially the music & dancing by Monsters, Inc), fantastic theming - a delightful evening. Don't forget to show your ticket at the Mickey & Friends lot for free parking, even if you come earlier that day!

* SD = Scooby-Doo!

Hey, we were there last night too! Were you the ones that we played the games next to? The 4 of us were dressed in the Wizard of Oz theme and you took a picture of us?

See you there on the 31st!:thumbsup2

I believe the TOT has very LOUD thunder and flashes of lightning all around it, as well as projections of bats flying by. Very spooky!:scared1:

Me too guys!!!!! Look for a short girl in an Elizabeth Swann Costume from POTC3 and say hi!!!

My dd, Kelly, & I went on the 11th, and met up with califgirl & tlinden from the DIS.

We had fun there, and I took a few pics. Kelly took more, but she's not here, so I'll just share mine:

At the entrance people could take pics next to the sign. This is Kelly.

There was music and dancing everywhere, it seemed. Lots of fun.

Thanks for sharing the awesome pictures Mary Jo!:thumbsup2

Looks like Kelly was having a good time!:cool1: I was wondering a couple of things. First, would you recommend at start time we go all the way to Paradise Pier and work our way towards the front of the park (to maybe avoid long treat station lines and character photo op lines)?

Also, we have younger ones with us (8 & 4), and we were wondering if the ending parade is worth keeping the younger ones out maybe longer than they would like? (You know, like if they're getting tired and a little cranky, should we try to talk them into hangin' in there as long as they can so they don't miss the parade?)

Thanks.:)

Personally, I thought the parade was cute, but it would not be a reason to stay longer, if the kidlets would rather do something else.

We really enjoyed watching the character interaction as the characters were great.

I'd recommend going either to the left or right, and continue on. If the trick or treat lines are long, then go to the next one, but don't rush it -- there was PLENTY of treats towards the end of the night. They didn't run out.

Kelly & I were starving, so we had a bite to eat at Hollywood Backlot and then went to Tower of Terror. The trick or treat lines were huge, and then we got off of ToT and the lines were really short. Regardless, they go by so quickly. A little boy, wait, excuse me, Captain Hook was behind me in line at ToT and his treat bag was more than half full.

I'd say to take time to play the games, and take time to enjoy the character interaction (like the scarecrows at the entrance to Bugs Land, and the characters walking around).

We did enjoy ourselves.

Okay, that sounds like a good plan. We'll probably hang a right towards Soarin' and go around from there.

It's great to hear the treat lines, even if they're long, go very fast. We won't get discouraged if we see a loooooong line. That's very good to know!:thumbsup2

Thanks Mary Jo.

Yes! It IS a small world after all...

You have a beautiful family - I was just telling a friend how cute the four of you were.

My Husband and I went on 10/18 and had a great time(this was our first MHT). We were staying at the GCH for the evening and arrived at the party around 7:00. We had come as pirates(I was lucky to get him dressed up at all, but he really got into it:goodvibes) . I was happy to see that there were alot of adults dressed up in some really great costumes(I had thoughts of arriving and just DH and I being the only ones in costume:scared1: ). The decorations were great and the music that was playing really got you into the party mode. We didn't do any rides(this year), we just wanted to soak up the atmosphere. We didn't stay until the end(note to self: no high heels for next year's party:rolleyes: ), but will definitely be going back next year!

To everyone who hasn't gone yet - go and have fun, it is a great time!

disney-super-mom,
It looks like we will be at the PP at the same time and going to MHT on the same night too. I would like to say Hay if I see you all. Im going to lowes to get something lime green MM head. Anyway Im not packed yet but am getting more and more excited as the days go by.:cool1:

We were there on the 18th. It was really an enjoyable evening. In line to get into the park, there were a few people that didnt know that you had to purchase separate tickets to the party. Anyway, we got in to DCA around 6:15 waited to head to Paradise Pier. My friend was there on the 12th and told me it would be fun but very busy, so I was prepared to run to rides. We started out fast, but realized that we could take our time. Got some candy, and headed straight to Screamin'. We walked on Screamin' 3 times, choosing where we wanted to sit. Headed to Orange Stinger, Mulholland, walked by GRR, off to Soarin, again practically walked on. Went to ToT, walked on. Enjoyed watching the kids dance and get their treats. This was our last day, and we were really tired. We left at 8:45. Kinda wish we had stayed a little longer, but I was getting that look from DH (the arent you sick of this yet look). We didnt get any photos with characters, which makes me a little sad. We had a great time. I loved the decorations.

Here are some more pics that my dd took on 10/11 Mickey's Halloween Treat. She just loved the costumes that different people and cast members were wearing.
